I have literally spent hours on the phone speaking to multiple people ( most I couldn't understand). I am so frustrated! I simply ordered filters for my furnace( which I have done before) through their website. They sent the wrong size so I simply wanted them replaced. Their website says call customer service for a problem! They have been useless! I still do not have this issue resolved! They are totally incompetent!
They send a technician out on July 24,2020. They recommended that HVAC be replaced-- it's from 2002 & it's not cooling. Thermostat is set at 70, but the house reads 75-77 degrees. I have my dad, a 96 yr old VETERAN whose bedbound living in the house. They keep giving me the runabout between the Heat/AC company & authorization dept and have not reach a decision while we are burning up in the heat of summer.

Biggest scam and fraud people unprofessional and crap home warranty company. They can't fix any item of ur house very bad experience They going out of businesses soon and gone open Chinese Restaurants soon
They will only fix minor issues if you have paid enough in the monthly charges, If they have to fix a big item like washer or dryer or AC, they will pull out all the hidden rules and make you pay for all, and Cash in Leu is a big scam too, they will tell something over the phone and write something else in their notes and never pay the money. Just stay away from this cheaters. Also, the people who come home to fix, they will blackmail you saying if you don't buy maintenance from us we will report as owners negligence and make you buy their service.
American Home Shield "warranties" your appliances, takes your money, and when an appliance doesn't work, wiggles out of helping you.
First, they told me that they provide a rekey service. The re-key guy came and did not rekey the back door. When I called to ask him to come back and finish the job, he rudely told me that it was too much trouble.
Then, when two of my burners did not work, an American Home Shield technician arrived that arrogantly told me that, yes, they did work. I called American Home Shield to ask him to come back and was told by the agent, "burners do not break."
Don't throw away your money on this sham operation!
This company is not a good company. They charge you $100.00 for someone to come out and they do not do what you ask. Some of the companies they use are subpar. I asked to cancel my policies and I had to go through 3 to 4 people to finally get them canceled because they kept stalling. Then the cancellation fees are like paying your next month premium. I felt like I was bound and gagged in the basement trying to get out. Keep your money. Go to a better company.
In March 2022 my dishwasher stopped working. It was determined that parts were not available and the dishwasher must be replaces. I have call AHS numerous time and I still do not have my dishwasher in August 2022. Do not waste your money on this joke of a company. They do nothing.
I've been told my coils and blower went out on my a/c.They ordered the parts but can't say when they will come in.I've asked for a portable a/c they said no.My platinum contract says fix or replace.My 1st service request Nov28 it's now Dec5,2022. I'm in Florida and hot.
DON'T CHOOSE THIS COMPANY OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES. I have the top-of-the-line home warranty through them and it is useless. First, they do nothing quickly. Forget about emergency help. Pipe break? Furnace out? You pay your $100 copay immediately. A couple days or weeks might go by before you hear back from the assigned contractor who has HORRIBLE online reviews. Contractor comes our and looks. Then more time is wasted on back and forth with American Home Shield. They weasel out of paying for just about everything. Pipes are in the wall.not covered. On and on. In emergency situations, they can't help. EVER. You get stuck hiring someone and American Home Shield doesn't reimburse you. That's the point.they make service so impossible and/or $#*!ty that you don't use it. My warranty started in May 2022. I won't renew. Avoid American Home Shield and their affiliates. Look at their REAL reviews. Horrible company. Zero ethics. Zero customer care. They take your money and do NOTHING!
I made an online appoinment for the following day and I recieved an email and text message confirmation for my booked appointment. I requested the afternoon off of work to be home so that i can meet the service repair person. I was home waiting for the technician when I received a call from AHS saying that they didn't have a technician available. So I lost wages from work and i didn't get my repair estimate. They said they can book me for the next day, but can't guarantee that a technician will show up. Don't waste your time or money with this unreliable company!
Every time I have had the unfortunate opportunity to need to call AHS I have been left wishing I never got them. Every time you call, expect 45 min hold times. Once they do answer, you can't communicate with the rep because English is their second language. They tell you everything is taken care of but really they are just trying to get you off the phone and hope you just get frustrated and take care of the problem yourself. I tried for months to get help with my tenants swamp cooler. They kept having problems with their technicians and it ended up CONVENIENTLY going past my renew date. They promised me that if this situation would occur, they would still take care of it. The situation happened and once my policy expired they couldn't care less about me. This company is all about doing the bare minimum!
Where do I start? Let's just say that I called AHS on July 3 to report that my wash machine was not working. Today is July 26 and still no washing machine. I'm a renter and at the mercy of this awful company that my landlord chose to avoid the responsibility of setting up service calls and maintaining his property. I've had two different service technicians look at the washer. The first one looked inside and took pictures. The second one actually did something. Now they tell me a washer has to be ordered from the manufacturer and will take another seven to ten days. All this on top of waiting on hold 20 minutes each time I call in to this awful company. I could have ordered online from Home Depot and had it delivered and installed three weeks ago. But, because I'm a renter and have to use the company the landlord set up, I'm still waiting! The second technician was great-from Longlane Home Services. He's the only person who actually had some answers and so far, has done anything.
Customer service is terrible. I spent 3 days on the phone with representatives explaining they debited the wrong account after I called a week earlier an updated my payment account info. The representatives and supervisors claimed they no longer had the old account info on file, but my bank statement showed the charge. I provided proof to them and they still were no help. I demanded to cancel service because I couldn't be a customer with a company that doesn't follow directions and provide adequate service to customers. I would be aware they really don't care about their customers satisfaction and don't take ownership of their mistakes.
Terrible customer service. Inferior contractors (for showing up 2+ hours late and being high "inferior" is really a compliment). Using deliberately deceiving or contradicting language in their contract. USELESS. A SCAM. A RIPOFF.
The worst. Had an air conditioner compressor go out. Sent contractor and said they would fix the a/c but my portion would be $800. No details just agree to paying $800. Did some calling and found out the extra was for uncovered costs for refrigerant. Contractor cost was 110$ per pound. Local industry standard charge is 60 per pound. Contractor cost is $14 per pound. He later called and said he was sorry but signed a lock in price contract with AHS that he had to charge that much. Of course, HS denied that. My contention was either they forced the price, or they hire contractors who inflate their price with no concern for the customer. I settled for cash payment ($704) Which proves homeowners cost for uncovered is always more than customers extra costs. I received an email that I would recieve my payment deposited in 1-3 days. After a week and many calls, they are saying our system isn't working. Payments aren't going out. Don't know when it will go out. This explanation was after one telling me it would be 14-21 days, Another to simply wait another day. No one who can really answer questions or give accountablilty. All phone numbers go to a phone operators who have to reach out to their managers and get back to you.
I'd purchased a service plan unknowing the price paid was not 1 time payment, until check out and payment was complete did I find the plan amount quoted was a "monthly" payment plan. I quickly called AHS to cancel. Here's where the "dog and pony show" begins. No email confirmation of cancelation was sent as promised. Called the next day to have and resent, after 2 hours of speaking with a rep from initial call in, then the "escalation " dept. it was mentioned repeatedly that there was no cancelation confirmation NOR any confirmation # to reference. The 1st person told me I had to wait another 30 days before a cancelation message could be sent ((what?))? The second rep told me the cancelation was only completed this morning(HST)/afternoon (EST). UGH. Either way, still NO cancelation confirmation message. CRAZY! I've never NOT received a cancelation letter/message/# when canceling anything.
Quite literally the WORST company I have ever worked with. They want you to pay hundreds for their service, but once they have your money they couldn't care less if you get the services you were promised. It took me 3 calls to get a service man to come look at my washer and once he finally came, they refused to order any necessary parts because they claimed it was the responsibility of the washer's brand. I finally have up and called my own service person from the washer's company to come out. My washer has been sitting broken for two weeks now and because I used this company, it won't get fixed for another two.
Horrible customer service there is no management on site to complain. The contractors they have the worst disrespectful and rude and they don't finish the work.my washing machine still with water and they came 5 minutes to tell me it will take 7 to14 days to get the part. Contractor was ridiculous disrespectful no manners.
Never use this company! They don't care about their customers at all! We have been using them for a couple of homes for several years, but when it came to the time of real need, they let us down multiple times and this last instance was the last straw for us. We are leaving them for good! What a ripoff they are!
Refrigerator has been down for three weeks, and each time I call I get someone who speaks really weak English, and always apologizing. I don't need to know you're sorry… I already know this! Anyway, mother board went out and they have been waiting on getting a real from the technician, Five days, and all they need to tell you is what you already know, the motherboard is not fixable. AHS you are joke and once I get this figured out I am taking all of my homes off American home shield warranties.
