CROOKS! Don't sign up. It will cost you more than doing the job yourself
July 28, 2023

#AmericanHomeShield CROOKS! They have refused to pay me the agreed upon cash back when I had to fix the drywall they broke into after FAILING to fix the plumbing issue! ALSO refused to repair the HVAC that has R22 leaking out of it which is BANNED in the US due to hazards to the environment #environmentprotection so I paid $7500 to replace the whole HVAC system. They have lied and hung up on me and never responded to any reach outs. I even copied corporate executives who never responded. Scam artists. I am thousands in the hole for what they should have covered and was a customer for years! Already had 4 friends and family cancel services with them and working on my realtor friends. This is beyond disappointing how they take advantage of people then connect to offshore call centers who claim they have NO MANAGER and hang up. I have spoken to 30+ representatives who put me through the same story. What kind of business is this? Clearly a failing one!
DO NOT SIGN UP! CROOKS AND NEVER WANT TO HELP! #BBB

Terrible services. Poor communication. Up charges. Hidden fees. Very bad service providers from HS.
June 23, 2023

I have been a customer for over 10 years. Home Shield was called out to fix: hot water tank in Jan. 2023.

If I could give American Home Shield ZERO stars I would!

Venders that do Home Shield contractor work took 3 weeks to come to home and assess the following,...
1. The hot water tank was rusted and they were going to replace.
2. They said that in addition to what Home Shield charged that I'd be responsible for $1050.00 to rebuild the platform, plus a premium, plus a deductible, and it would take three more weeks
3. Home Shield gave me a reference number. They apologized it would take three weeks. That was the best they could do.
4. The home was being rented by a family with three children and were subject to cold water and showers in the cold of winter--they were needing a tank replaced ASAP.
5. The HS local provider finally reached out to me...,and told me they were from Visalia, CA, a city nearby and they would get back to the family, me, and the property management with a service number that never arrived. I followed up; HS said that they were working on it week after week. Still no help. Not fixed. So I took matters into my own hands--I hired a local contractor. He built the wooden stand and replaced a new hot water heater in less than 24 hours. Less costs. Quick. Build to CA safety code etc...
6. All's good. Family has warm water now.
7. After waiting 3 weeks for HS to repay me for the hot water heater the "Cash Out" option, they were going to pay the install fees with the previous HS contractor I still had not gotten reimbursed from HS.
8. Month after month: still no cash out that was offered ever came. Frustrated. Angry. Helpless. And, HS still never responded to renters, to property management team or me. Very unprofessional. But, I did all the work for them.

9. The problem with American Home Shield is in the poor quality of contractors they use, lack of responsibility to the renters or to me the customer, and the poor lack of care given in a process botched by phone call after phone call without resolution. I still have not gotten my cash out HS promised: the cost of the new water heater.

10. Save your MONEY! The monthly HS premium fee is $90.00. The co-pay is $100.00, and the venders that supply HS contracted services add charges on top of charges. Very disingenuous. Unfair. Bad service.

Here's my advice: Save on the costs of HS premiums; costs too high; service very poor; HS is just about worthless.

I've started calling local contractors to replace or repair items covered by HS at a fraction of the price; local tradesmen cost much less than the up-charges included from HS and their "providers" for services. Glitch after glitch; rinse and repeat.

Save your money! It will save you a lot money that HS up-charges and pads the expenses with those that are far higher than the monthly premium you already pay--event co-pay--and the hidden costs driven up by the HS "providers."

Lastly, to this date I still have not been paid back my agreed upon buy out for the hot water from HS. Save yourself the stress, anxiety, and poor work-man's-ship from a bottom of the barrel HS provider that (in my experience) was unqualified leaving you with little recourse but: frustration, escalating premium costs, hidden fees, and really bad communication skills. Write down the reference numbers, time, date, and who you talk to at HS...this information will come in handy when you call your VISA company to get a re-imbursement for the excessive HS fees, time, and trouble.

If I could give American Home Shield ZERO stars I would!

Poor customer service
June 9, 2023

Their contract company & AHS
A WATER SOLUTION, INC.

I had multiple problems with the technician that was dispatched.

1. He was here for no more than ten minutes & proclaimed that my job was before the date of my policy of April & likely would be out of pocket.

2. He said the cost would be between $4,000-$5,000 out of pocket. I told him that it only began leaking about a week ago & had a photo with the time stamp.

3. He said he'd have to rip out my drywall, all new flooring & concrete. I said if that was the case that my homeowners would likely cover at least a part of this, he said no. I disagreed again on the date & what needed to be repaired. He told me he wasn't going to debate or argue with me & just left. I then immediately contacted Roto Rooter for their free estimate. I figured they could tell me if they agreed with his assessment or if it was something else. They were here in less than twenty minutes. It was as thought, it was the clean out cap that had corroded & needed replaced. They did the work then for total $169.04.
AHS was going to dispatch another company for a 2nd opinion. But I didn't find that out until later in the day after this work was completed & when they did contact me, they stated they wouldn't come until Monday to assess the job. So under the circumstances, I felt the right choice was made & I didn't have to come out of pocket$5000 They also said that it wasn't leaking on the flooring until recently & it was only dripping on the surface, not from underneath, no buckling involved or other water damage as he was trying to state.
I asked AHS reimburse me the $169.04 for the invoice from Roto Rooter. THEY REFUSE TO REFUND ME THE $169.04 THAT I PAID OUT BECAUSE I DIDN'T WAIT ON THEIR SECOND OPINION STATING THAT IT WASN'T ONE OF THEIR APPROVED COMPANIES. 1ST, THE 2ND OPINION COULDN'T COME TIL MONDAY. SECOND, IF THE FIRST COMPANY AHS APPROVED OF TREATED ME LIKE THIS & WANTED$5,000 OUT OF MY POCKET, WHY WOULD I WAIT FOR THE 2ND ONE.

Products used:

I ended up getting the work outside of the AHS they refunded the _125 service fee but REFUSED TO COVER THE$169.04 THAT I HAD TO PAY FOR THE WORK. VERSUS THE $5000 OUT OF POCKET THEIR COMPANY WANTED ME TO PAY OUT OF POCKET PLUS TO RIP HALF OF MY LOWER MASTER SUITE.

I wish you could give a negative number of stars.
March 15, 2023

American Home Shield is not a scam. They are however, without question, the most abysmally pathetic excuse for a company of ANY kind I have ever had the misfortune of doing business with. The gross incompetence of this company as a whole cannot be understated. The disfunction is systemic and seems to actually be by design. Each piece is completely disconnected from the rest with no means of communication between the different tentacles. I know this because after having so much trouble for nearly a month an a half, I decided to have a candid conversation with someone at customer service to try to find out how the business actually works. Here's how it goes: You call customer service. That's where you hit the first wall. "Customer Service" is not even employed by American Home Shield. They're people sitting in a call center in a foreign country. They are entirely separate from American Home Shield. In fact when you ask to speak to a supervisor, they don't have the capability to do that without putting in a request for a call back. And when the supervisor calls you back eventually after a few days, you find out that this "supervisor" is not an American Home Shield supervisor at all. It's a supervisor in the same random call center you already dealt with somewhere in India. These are literally things I was told directly. I'm not making any of this up. When I asked how I can call American Home Shield, like actually speak to a person employed by AHS, not even they knew how to do so. They are completely and utterly disconnected from the company that you paid for this service.

Finally someone came to fix my refrigerator. Didn't actually touch it. I told him it doesn't have power, and he walked back out and said he'd be ordering a computer board for it. A week and a half later they call to tell me they have the parts, and then 10 minutes later call back to inform me that they ordered the wrong part and would have to re-order. After another week, I call AHS. They try to call the vendor/contractor. No answer (as always). Within 10 minutes I get a call claiming the part just arrived. So my calling AHS somehow magically made my parts arrive. Weird. He comes and installs the part and proceeds to leave before I'm able to realize that the fridge doesn't actually work. See, the vendors that AHS hires are going to get paid for the work order, wether that actually accomplish anything or not. So there's no incentive to actually provide quality work. In fact, its quite the opposite. If they don't do their job the first time, that simply means they'll get another work order, and get paid again. So really, it's in their best interest to fail at their job.

I call the vendor, and quickly realize that the phone number to the vendor is… wait for it… yet ANOTHER call center. So now I have to start at the beginning again of this cycle and deal with this joke of a company once again.

The problem with this company isn't necessarily a question of incompetence. It's more a question of disfunction. Each individual department is it's own entity, entirely disconnected from the rest. Customer service is nothing more than a call center with people reading a script. People that have no actual connection with American Home Shield. They literally admitted to me that even if they wanted to connect me to an actual AHS representative, that they wouldn't even know how to. The Authorization department (the place that supposably has the authority to replace my fridge) apparently doesn't actually have contact with the outside world, or so it would seem. They're more like this mythical department that nobody knows how to contact and doesn't actually exist. And the repair vendors are businesses that actually benefit from providing the worst possible service they can. This company is a perfect micracosm of the government. I'm convinced that "American Home Shield" isn't actually a company at all. But rather a monstrous conglomerate of individual pieces, all of which do not interact with the other, and somewhere there's a man behind the curtain that created this monstrosity all while sitting at a computer.

And here's the greatest part of the whole thing. Look up the corporate office for AHS and call the number. It reroutes you back to same call center in India. It's actually hilarious and infuriating all at the same time. Just fix your own appliances. This company needs to be taken out to pasture and put out of it's misery.

Horrible, perpetrating fraud and it's allowed
February 22, 2023

I had a contract with American Home Shield AHS) and they have refused to pay for a new AC unit. My unit was 21 years old, 21!. During my semi-annual AC inspection and tune-up in May 2022, the contractors I used for that advised that my system was sure to fail soon due to issues that continue to worsen with my aged system. He said he was unable to even rinse the coils because they were so brittle. The condenser coils and accumulator were heavily corroded. The last time, the technician was also unable to do this either, rinse the coils. The fins are falling off all around the unit. He also advised that the freon was leaking. The system uses the older, more expensive freon.
I placed a service request into AHS based on the freon being low and the other comments related to accumulator etc. AHS sent a company. The next day, I received a declination from AHS and they advised that it would take 9,450 to replace the AC and that they would not replace my 21 year old system. It is NOT 21 YO. There was no estimate for anything else, freon etc. AHS summarily dismissed the new system, the only response I received is that they refused the 9450 – due to excessive wear and tear of 2 years (WHAT!?) and that I was ocean side. I do not live ocean side and my unit is 21 years old, not 2.
I sent emails and left messages to no avail. I finally went back through customer service to try and complain and they sent another company for a 2nd opinion. That company came out and I heard nothing from AHS, again. I called and called for 5 weeks. I finally found an email address online so emailed that person and did get a response. So, she called the 2nd company, apparently that company was telling AHS that they needed to– had – to send it back to the 1st company. (Because they knew they system needed replacing). Another appointment was set up but no one showed up. AHS cancelled the appointment without letting me know and still did not contact me. After more calls between me and AHS and AHS and the 2nd company, the 2nd company came out for a 3rd time. I did speak to the person that came out and he seemed quite frustrated with AHS, he knows they know it needed replacing and said it probably needed over 10 pounds of freon. It is my understanding that by virtue of opening the system, more was bound to disintegrate and break apart and there was no way really to estimate the freon because it could all run out once they got in the system. But, I did get a denial from AHS citing they don't pay for freon, well it needed freon but also much more.
I spent many weeks on this last summer. I'm disabled and it was very difficult. I went ahead and replaced my system, it was obvious they were not going to honor their contract. Executive relations also said they wouldn't honor the contract – not in so many words but when I asked id they were not going to honor it, got more double talk. I couldn't spend the hot summer in FL with no AC; and they don't work on weekends, nights etc. I know that freon was my responsibility, the majority of it, and if freon would have worked or kept it going any longer, I would not have a problem with paying for that -but not when I'm being told it would be a waste of money. Both of the companies they sent out told them the unit needed replacing. I firmly believe AHS goaded the 2nd company into the freon estimate - that 3rd time they contacted them – AHS wanted them to say something besides referring me back to the 1st, for a new unit!- and saying a new accumulator that required freon and AHS wouldn't pay that until freon was paid. I have used the same contractor for the semi-annual maintenance for several years and they too knew it needed replacing. As the unit worsened over the years, this was the 1st time they even broached or hinted at it needing replacing.
I did what was required by the contract I had with AHS and want a reasonable reimbursement for my new AC system, that they promised to replace if it was broken! They were told it needed replacing and just gave me the run around until I gave up. I did and it has cost me a lot of money, that I thought would be paid by them.

DO NOT USE. SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND AGGRAVATION.
December 27, 2022

Do not use this company. Save yourself money and aggravation. Better to call a qualified service to get something fixed. They will send you the worst company who doesn't get any business, and then you will wait a few weeks or even months if you are lucky. I recently contacted them about my ice maker in the refrigerator, since it has stopped working. First of all, they dispatched a service call and advised it would take 48 hours for the contractor to contact me. 48 hours passed, no one contacted me. When I reached out to the assigned contractor, the receptionist had no clue about the service call to my address. After about 20 minutes on the phone, she was finally able to find it. It was already Friday. She mentioned that someone would contact me the following Monday about "SCHEDULE" and let me know what day. When I asked what day it would be scheduled for approximately, she replied, "POSSIBLY WEDNESDAY". Keep in mind this is only an ice maker in a refrigerator that I can live without for a few weeks,a month, whatever. God forbid your heater to break in winter time, or the AC in extreme hot summer, or a burst pipe. On Monday I got no phone calls for the whole day. At approximately 5 pm, I decided to call myself to see when my appointment would be scheduled. I was promised Wednesday. On Wednesday, a so-called "technician" came into my house just to let me know that I was not properly opening and closing the French doors on my refrigerator. Apparently, first you have to open the left door, then the right door, and after that you have to close it in the same sequence. What a stupid thing to say. And then they told me that they have to put some kind of silicone inside the refrigerator for the ice maker. Telling me that he would send me a YouTube video if I didn't believe him. Do you think a professional would tell you something like that? A YouTube video, huh? Is this how you diagnose a problem? Lucky for him, I wasn't home at the time of the appointment. I wish I had been present, so he could look into my eyes and tell me that I was not properly opening and closing the doors. I would've thrown him out of my house right there and then. If I checked the reviews prior to them showing up, I would never have let them into my house. After numerous attempts to contact American Home Shield to try to resolve the problem, I was forced to break the contract.
I was told by a few supervisors that there is a process that they need to follow and this is how their process works. After a contractor is assigned to be at your home, you can get a second opinion. However, you have to wait at least 48 hours for that first contractor to explain what happened and only then will they be able to determine whether they're going to allow a second opinion. Do you believe that a contractor who is supposed to schedule a service call within 48 hours in the first place didn't even bother to call you, they will reply to you within 48 hours?
I actually did try and gave them 48 hours, and nothing happened. I was given the same story again and needed to wait for the contractor to reply to them.
And all you hear from them when speaking to any of them, including supervisors, "I understand your frustration", NO YOU DON'T. You don't need to understand my frustration, but what you need to do is to create a system which is going to work out better and you can retain some of your clients. Also, two months ago they raised the price without even letting me know. I believe that I was supposed to get some kind of notification to let me know that you are raising the prices. And don't automatically assume that it will be OK. I want to get my full 100% refund for one year worth of payments, including the service fee charged, and the cancellation fee of the contract, where it does not indicate anywhere on a contract that there is a cancellation fee. I will take this to Better Business Bureau and consumer affairs. SPOT PROVIDING SERVICES IF YOU CANNOT HANDLE IT. You don't deserve to have a name like "AMERICAN" home shield, rather "WORTHLESS" home shield!

Fraudulent company and contractors
December 26, 2022

On July 19th 2023, I put in a service request to have my air conditioning fixed. Prior to the request my A/C would not blow cold air. Eventually, it would not turn on entirely. AHS assigned Right Tech Heating & Air Inc. to come out and diagnose the issue. On July 25th 2023, the service technician Greg said that the entire A/C unit would have to be replaced because the condenser and compressor were damaged and non-functional. He said he would write up the report and we would have to wait for AHS' approval. On July 28th I received an email from AHS to call for the Pro's recommendation and the next steps. I proceeded to call Right Tech Heating & Air and they informed me over the phone that AHS had approved the condenser unit replacement, but not the electrical line modifications which would cost me $850 out of pocket. They said I would need to call AHS to confirm in order for them to place the order on the condenser unit which would take approximately two weeks to arrive. I immediately called AHS and they gave me the same information. I told them I was willing to pay the $850 and for them to proceed with the authorization. AHS informed me to give Right Tech Heating & Air Inc. a call back to let them know that they have approved things on their end. I called Right Tech Heating & Air back and the representative Jenna confirmed AHS' approval with me over the phone. She told me that they would be in touch in about 2 weeks once the new condenser unit arrived. I asked if there was anything that needed to be signed or paid. She said not yet. Fast forward to August 7th 2023 I get a call from an entirely different company, "Mister Freeze HVAC Inc" asking to set up service appointment for my A/C. I told them I never authorized another service appointment and that I would have to confirm with AHS what was going on before agreeing to anything. I called AHS and they said that the AHS' Authorization department wanted to get a second opinion on the A/C unit and that they were scheduling for a new contractor to inspect my A/C unit free of charge. I looked up the reviews of the new contractor, "Mister Freeze HVAC Inc" and found nothing, but 1 star reviews out of 5 on Yelp. I also filed a complaint with AHS on this same company months prior for failing to show to my home multiple times on a different service request. I was shocked to find that they were still using the same company months later. Furthermore, the company has an F rating with the Better Business Bureau. I expressed my concern to AHS and requested a different contractor to which I was told every other contractor was booked. I told them it was fine and that I could wait. But the representative I spoke to insisted & told me I had nothing to worry about. On August 8th, two technicians from Mister Freeze HVAC came to my home and said that someone tampered and cut the wiring to the compressor and that the compressor cover had been cut and removed. I called AHS to find out what the report meant for me and they are now trying to deny coverage of my A/C unit. I was really not surprised! This whole situation screamed fraud! On August 11th, I called AHS to escalate the issue. I was informed the authorization department initially approved Right Tech Heating & Air's request for a new condenser unit, but when they requested more money for more the replacement items & repairs the authorization department put in a new request for a second opinion which is where Mister Freeze came in. AHS said that the contractor's reports did not match and that they were going to go off of Mister Freeze HVAC Inc's report. I told AHS that it seemed very convenient for them now that they did not have to cover this expensive repair and that I wanted to escalate this issue even further because one of their two contractors is definitely lying! The company that benefits the most from this decision is AHS which leads me to believe Mister Freeze HVAC Inc cut the wires. AHS said I would be contacted by a superior in 24 hours for the issue. They've offered to send out a 3rd contractor, but I told them that that would do me absolutely no good if one of their two contractors had already tampered with my A/C unit! This company along with it's contractors are fraudsters! I am reporting them to my local state department of insurance and BBB. Stay away at all cost!

Tip for consumers:

Stay away from this company at all cost!

AHS works with poor quality companies
August 27, 2022

On May 16th service was requested because A/C was not working properly. AHS assigned SR #*******.
Tech from Delta T company (Jose) went on 18th and told tenants that there is a leak and need to add gas which is not covered. He leave the place with HVAC unit open and never return to close the case. (Picture attached as evidence). After he leaves A/C was not working at all.
When tenant told me that information I try to contact Delta T several times without answer. When I finally contact them on May 19th, he confirmed the same information. I told them that the HVAC was almost new, less than a year in service and will use the guaranty. After that they told me that will send the details later because they were very busy.
As I didn't receive any information from Delta T, on May 20th I called AHS customer service to explain the situation and they told me that will contact Delta to have the details of the diagnosis and estimate.
In the mean time Tenant was complaining about not having A/C working during that warm weekend, so I have to provide him a mobile unit on Saturday. As I didn't have any answered after the weekend, on May 23rd I contact the HVAC tech that installed that unit last year. He resolve the problem in 30 minutes. It was only a pipe clogged!
Yesterday Delta T sent me an email with the diagnosis and estimates of that repair, which is attached. Surprisingly the gas leak wasn't there but now they show a different diagnosis with a cost for me of more than 1k. Fortunately when I receive this estimate and diagnosis the HVAC is working in perfect condition.
My conclusions:
Delta T has unprofessional techs. They don't finish works and leave the unit half open and causing more problems than before they arrive.
Delta T has a lack of costumer service. They don't answered phone calls and took more than 5 days to send a formal diagnosis and estimates.
Delta T take advantage of costumers. Charging more than 1k for a wrong diagnosis after they discover I will use the guaranty for their 1st diagnosis.
AHS doesn't filter properly their partners companies.
I sent this complaint to AHS, but never received an answer back. I decided to cancel my policy with them and is funny that I'm receiving emails and phone calls almost every week to go back with them, but never an answer of my complaint.
If you don't want to lose a lot of time, headaches and frustration don't ever think to go with AHS.

Tip for consumers:

AHS has good web page and process to request service and an amazing marketing force. After that if you need to replace an appliance its horrible. Also they partner with poor quality providers.

WHEN YOU ARE ALL READY TO SUE THEM LET ME KNOW.
August 20, 2022

Texas, it's hot. Paid them since 2014.
6 children and disabled wife with sickle cell disease.

Now my A/C unit is down and I'm cashing in.
Peace of mind right?

Wrong.

Called for help. Dispatcher told me they would send a tech out within 24 hrs. If nobody arrives or contacts me to call back.

Day-2 it's 118 degrees by the way.

Call back dispatcher says someone will contact me within 48 hrs. There are currently
No contractors available in my area.

Day-4

I call customer service. Dispatcher says I can wait an additional 24 hrs and that all their contractors are busy. NOT GOOD ENOUGH I responded. I am the. Put on hold for 45+ mins. Customer care rep (CCR) tells me I can get my own contractor and they will reimburse me. I call a guy and within 15 mins

- I get invoice for services and I pay them.
- Cost of work and repair
- and email them/AHS with my Dispatch ID#

Day-5

Call (CCR) on hold for two hrs.
They say I do not have any service request put me on hold and drop the call. On hold again for 1/2 hr. I talk to CCR again they say nobody has sent an email. I TELL THEM I SENT IT. 9x in a Row in fact. Rep says oh dispatch may have it and that is information they do not have access to and for me to call back in 24 business hrs. BS it's gtg you have it you see it.

Day-6

Call back. I received an email from AHS over night saying I OWE THEM $120.00 and they are letting me know it's going to withdraw from my account. ARE YOU SERIOUS I PAID 79.00 to the tech out of pocket. I tell them invoice was emailed by AC pros to dispatch along with service ID. I'm told to call them back and have them contact AHS because they need to see if this is a scam or not. Call my guy he is livid and try's to call them. Text me back that he was put on hold and the call was dropped after 3 attempts and 2+ hrs. He said he was done. I call them back and CCR tells me they called him but he did not answer.

Day-7

Call CCR and they tell me I am not covered and haven't paid. BS I have paid for 14 years and keep record. It comes out of my escrow.
Rep tells me they have not been able to speak with my guy. I text my guy and he tells me he tried. He has been very patient and understands. The cycle of stalling continues.

Day-8

AHS tells me they received his invoice and want a second opinion and will have a contractor they choose contact me shortly.
Within 48 hrs.

Day-9 surprisingly I get a call the next morning but unfortunately the contractor says they can't help me until 8 days from now. I say it's an emergency and they told me if an opening is available they will try to come.

Day-17

Everyday I checked in to see if someone could come out. Tech asked what was the problem. I said I don't know in fear that he would just take the guy I had hired previously work and not do anything. Well I'll admit he was legit and came to the same conclusion as the previous contractor. So I'll praise Comfort air in texas. Anyhow says to me his people will email the invoice by tomorrow morning.

Day-18

Call AHS say they don't have it yet.

Day-19

Call AHS AGAIN and they say they stlll don't.
I'm put on hold. It's 2pm and their contractors business hrs close at 5pm. CCR says they called and nobody answered it went to a machine. I call them they answered and said they sent the invoice already 2 days ago.
I call AHS back and they say they have not received it yet.

It's Saturday 8/20/2022 I'm still waiting on AHS to know if they accept.

In closing I wish I could stop people from getting AMERICAN HOME SHIELD. Their CCR reps are nice but really do not seem to listen and are reading from a script. If you challenge them on anything they just read from script and not to sound horrible but I'm sure their call center is not in the US. It's a scam. They use stall tactics continuously and I doubt it will ever be handled. I want to Sue them I really do. I wish everyone on every post that had issue would rise up and collectively bring this company down. They are the worst. Don't use them.

I will summarize to save time and space. American Home Shield is my home warranty company. July 1,2022 My heat pump wasn't cooling the house, I requested service, they sent out a 1st contractor, he failed to report the needed repair correctly to AHS. I requested a 2nd opinion from AHS as I am allowed per the contract terms. The 2nd contractor ultimately did fix the problem, but took 2 weeks and 3 visits to do so. He tried to cheat on the repair, I caught him, and he fixed it correctly. AHS was not proactive with any part of my issues or concerns re: this repair. I had to drive the whole process, sometimes on hold on the phone with AHS as long as 1/2 hour at a time, over and over. I started chatting with them for transcript proof after they proved incompetent on the phone. Never was I allowed to speak to a manager or supervisor when I asked. I once spoke to someone in escalations, but had to wait on hold an hour to do so, and he was no help. I was contacted by Stacy Williams of their social media dept. she had seen my reviews and was concerned and promised to refund my $125 copay for said repair since things went so badly. She can't be reached since, I have tried a dozen times. I never did get the $125 refund from AHS. I did pursue it through my credit card company with doc's to prove, but that is ongoing. AHS has now charged me an additional $125 for the same original July 3rd payment, thus there are 2 charges for the same item, same date, and they tell me it's past due now. I brought this to their attention. They say they'll get it corrected. First I was told 1-3 days, now the story is 5-7 days to fix it. AHS has never denied anything. They apologized and kept apologizing. They confirmed that I should receive the refund, but alas, they never got around to it. I have filed 3 separate complaints with the BBB of the Mid South regarding 3 separate issues with AHS. 1 has multiple responses from AHS and is ongoing, 1 is open, 1 is pending. I have shared my experience across many platforms online. Yelp, BBB, Google, PC, Home Warranty Reviews, Consumer Affairs, and on and on. I am on a first name basis with the BBB rep. AHS continues to this day to make excuses, but always apologizing. I have notes, I have transcripts of all conversations. I have dated screen shots. I have enough proof of their incompetence to sink a battle ship. My warning is this, the poor reviews are real, believe them. Steer clear of AHS at all costs, or you too will become a victim of their practices. They should be shut down for what they do, but alas, who will do it? I have contacted my State's attorney and the FTC and I am trying to make a difference and save someone else the trouble. We will see.

Here's the score: AHS sent 2 contractors over 4 visits. The heat pump appears to have been repaired. They continue to ignore me by not completing the refund I was promised. They have billed me 2x for the same repair copay on the same date and now say it's past due. There are 3 BBB complaints against them, none satisfied. I have wasted dozens of hours of my time trying to get satisfaction, for something that could have been handled so much better. Final result, they lose, because I will retell this story until I die.

Tip for consumers:

AHS is almost impossible to access other than phone or chat, they will not give me an email address, They will not let me talk to a supervisor. I did get some result using BBB's complaint system, but things still aren't worked out completely with AHS
