This was the first time that I used Agoda and it was the cheapest option for a weekend getaway to Panama City Beach. It had mixed reviews but for a 2 night stay, I didn't think there was anything they could possibly mess up. Take into consideration that I live in New Orleans and there was a category 3 hurricane forecasted for that weekend 6 days before my trip. I called to see if I could possibly reschedule my trip to the following weekend due to the hurricane hitting where I live. Usually people would still wanna go but I was planning to leave my cats at home and didn't want to do that if a hurricane would be hitting my home. The customer service was terrible, they barely speak English and have robot-like answers. They are not understanding of anyone's situations.
In short, they said I cannot cancel. I kept reiterating that I wanted to reschedule but they didn't understand. I contacted my hotel directly and they said it was in their policy that I could reschedule my trip due to a hurricane being in my area. I called agoda back and told them but they said that they had to get approval from the "third party" that they used to book my room. They told me I'd hear back in 24 hours. They'd call and if they can't get ahold of me, they'd email.
72 hours later, never received any call or email back. Luckily for me, the hurricane shifted a tiny bit to the west and I was able to go on my trip.
Another thing that happened: I showed up at the hotel and my booking was for a room with double beds when my booking confirmation from agoda said king room suite. They said that's how the "third party" sent in the booking. Luckily, the hotel had a king suite available that night. Will never ever use agoda again.
If I could Give 0 stars I would. I booked through them and before the cancelation date I asked Then if they could alter the reservation to add one day at the end of our trip and cancel the first day. They said they would no problem. They waited til it was after the cancellation window and then preceded to tell me it's too late and it's after the cancelation window. Now it is 3 days before my trip, The last person with their company told me they probably weren't going to refund me and that I should Report it to my credit card so I did And rebooked it and they waited til The trip was over and refunded me for that 1 day I had Asked for in the beginning so since they did that my credit card is refusing to refund the rest of the trip. Now I am Stuck $1500 out of pocket that I paid Twice for a trip. They are one of the worst companies there is no manager to speak to and the customer service agent who emailed me had a no reply email so you could not even email back.
Deceptive advertising. Their website shows "Free Cancellation" with the lowest rate, which is the non-refundable rate. Minutes after booking the non-refundable rate, I contacted them through chat and they refused to change my booking to the free cancellation.

UNSATISFYING CUSTOMER SERVICE
My wife and I were to stay in Rome during early May of this year. We booked a room at the Marcella Royal through Agoda. It was a nonrefundable reservation, so we were denied a refund for a no-show during a lockdown. The people at Agoda seem not to understand that we were prevented from staying at the hotel. It was not a no-show. We could not show because the hotel would not allow us to occupy the room. Is there something they do not understand? It turns out that Trip.com returned our nonrefundable payments because they understood the circumstances. Agoda is a Singapore based company that seems to be involved in unfair business practices. They are of a culture that does not believe in fairness. I would strongly recommend that if you consider travel protect yourself from these people by not doing business with them.
I have been using them since 2016 and their team is still doing the wonderful jobs. Never disappointed by them.
Okay I made my reservation through Agoda for Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach California. I did send a go to a email a couple days prior to leaving asking if it would be okay to pay by check when I got there due to some situation I was going through. I drove about six hours to get to the hotel on Saturday the 5th of September 2020 upon arriving at the hotel very very tired I was told that my reservation have been canceled by Agoda I assume for the reason I mentioned above. The hotel was completely booked and I had nowhere to go and nowhere to stay. I was exhausted as I am 100% disabled combat veteran and had a special needs son with me. Things to Casey at Pacific Edge she was able to find me a room on a cancellation. However, this room cost $800 a night. Double what my original price. What choice did I have? So I booked the room and just wanted to go to sleep. Agoda is useless and they do not take care of their customers. Be afraid be very afraid

During COVID-19.
I was calling the hotel in Seraya Taba hotel in Madina to xancel my confirmed booking. But no one answered the phone. Im making a follow-up almost every day.
On May 28 sometime answered my phone but the guy said to call back after 1pm. As the in charge of the hotel will come.
Again no one answered the phone.
Until i contacted the customer service through phone. But he said to call him back again. This happen almost everyday single day. But no one dare to reply! So disappointed. Until now i didn't get my refund.
Big thief and hacker!
They even deleted my inbox conversation and my emails from the receipt i paid.

Been trying to cancel a non-refundable booking at a hotel in Ams. Made this booking way back in Dec 2019. Had other non-refundable bookings on other platforms which were refunded because they understood what a pandemic is.
However, Agoda simply refused to cancel because of the so called "non-refundable policy", saying the hotel does not agree to waive the fees and told me to contact the hotel directly. So what is their customer service for?
Agoda released in their Agoda approach: "The purpose of this article is to confirm which areas and period are within Agoda cancellation waivers amid COVID-19". But guess what, according to their cust svc it doesn't apply to non-refundable bookings! Why would refundable bookings need this additional policy... hmm... mind blowing.
Even with the pandemic, they repeatedly tell me the booking is still valid in case I change my mind and still want to use it. Omg are monkeys manning their customer service. (face palm). As much as i would like to travel, it is IMPOSSIBLE with travel restrictions and quarantines! In this crisis they still wanna bank in the sale when there cant be any exchange of service. Shame shame.
I do not recommend using this company. The customer service is very poor. I booked with them and my reservation never showed up and they kept my money. My friends have the same issue with them.
I was in San Antonio TX and try to make reservations using agoda they made reservations for me and they give me reservations number so go go the the hotel to get the rooms the front desk tells me you don't have reservations with us I showed her the booking number she tells me agoda has been doing this all day and we have been telling them we are fully booked
Terrible experience with Agoda. Booked a 1night staycation with Park hotel Singapore (with SG Secure badge) and was shocked to realize that the hotel was reserved for quarantined personals from Covid-19.
After getting turned down at the doorstep, Agoda took a long time answering our calls and finally refunded our paid amount.
The park hotel staffs were horribly unhelpful as well, immediately shirked responsibility to Agoda instead of offering us alternatives.
Will never trust Agoda again.
I made a mistake on my booking date. 15 minutes later they won't change it for me. They won't refund me. They won't give me credit and or make any changes on the name etc.

My reservation was automatically cancelled because of Covid-19 since the studio would not open at all. I 've contacted with the studio to make sure that I will not be charged. And guess what! I'll ve checked my bank and the money were gone. And now they are talking about an partial NOT full refund. Definitely not recommended. Definitely not gonna use it ever again.
Horrible experience with agoda. I had booked through agoda for the auberge hotel in HK 2 weeks ago... booked the non refundable option as it was a staycation. However when the cases started spiking since first week of July and the government suggested to curb unnecessary going out, I asked agoda to move my reservation to another date a few months later so that the situation could stabilize in the meantime. Not only did they not allow me to move booking, they cut my entire one nights stay. They said it was property policy but I called the property and the property said they were making exceptions due to new govt measures announced. So then I called up agoda again and they started saying this was a system limitation. Not only did they steal my $1900 but the customer service was rude and slow and wasted a lot of my time in the process. Please never make a mistake of choosing agoda book hotels during the time of the virus as they are totally inflexible.
My daughter was to travel to Japan however covid19 she wasn't allowed. Booked accommodation through Agoda and they didn't even refund her or give her a credit voucher. I was dealing on her behalf with this and received Bad customer service! Will never book through them again and My family and I travel so much. Be careful they will get your funds and not provide service.

The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
