But don't worry! They'll send you an email at 12:30 AM telling you that you have until 4:30 AM to get "Agoda Bucks" in lieu of a full refund. Do not give these clowns money.
I've used this website a few times, recently on a trip to Miami. When I arrived at the hotel front desk informed me it was for a shared room, meaning I was going to be sharing a room with complete strangers. As if that wasn't bad enough it was during COVID-19 & the guest that was staying with me was pregnant. I immediately asked for an upgrade they wanted to charge an additional $300. I decided I would cancel & the front desk informed me the website had not yet sent over my funds and would not be accepting them so I could get refunded as they understood my situation. I opened a case with my bank & this company thinks they still need to contact me. NO, just communicate with the bank at this point as you all have stole my money and didn't inform me the room was going to be shared with complete strangers.
They let you been rooms they do not have and then cancel with no notice. If I didn't check a few days before we went to the hotel I would of gone in thinking I had a reservation.
If you run into any isues they aren't able to help you with any urgency, they are a company from overseas and they dont know what normal amenities comen with hotels in America. I had a resort where i stayed at and the whole stay i didnt have wi-fi and when i complaint to customer service said that the package i had didnt come with wifi what hotel doesn't include wi-fi well they were wrong. The resort i stayed at didnt include breakfast and I went thru my reservation there isn't anything that said breakfast wasn't included. After i checked out they said i was going to get some money back and i got a note from the hotel manager and even still i had to follow up and they fought me on the refund even though the resort wrote me a note saying i was going to get x amount of money, i called the resort and they told me that there was money returned to this site but i didnt get it and since they are overseas you can't do a thing about it. They are trash don't waste your money on this foreign, fraudulent company, do your self a favor and use only american sites.
The hotel was nothing like it's portrayed! Pics below! I contacted agoda twice and was dismissed both times! Agoda did not care at all! Never called me back
We booked a Junior Suite at the River Canyon Inn in Moab with Agoda, but when we checked-in we were sent to a standard room. The hotel didn't have a Junior Suite available, and refused to compensate us for the difference without authorization from the booking agent 9even though we paid directly at the hotel). When I contacted Agoda, they said it was the hot; l's problem - not this. A classic Catch-22! Lesson lered - Avoid Agoda for future bookings.
Selected the wrong date for my hotel booking. They gave me the run around... telling me it's up to the hotel. Now I'm out $500 bucks. Never experienced this before. Buyer beware... don't use this site
Booked a reservation with over a month's notice and cancelled two days later (over a month's notice). The Marriott said no issue... however Agoda said their policy was to not refund ANY cancellations. I found a number to contact Agoda (conveniently they don't have a way to contact them). I was on the phone with the Customer Service Rep for an hour and she said they'd refund our money ($5k) but that it would take 30 days / the next billing period. 30+ days later no refund. I'm online with their Customer "Service" line and they're saying it'll take another 30 days. Crazy... it takes a day to take the money from our credit card but they want to hold onto the $$ to gather interest and who knows? Do I need to contest thru the credit card? I have an email from the Customer "Service" saying they'll refund. Are the rules in China different than everywhere else?
Used agoda to book a room in Oakland CA for 2 days. When I arrived the hotel had no reservation. They searched it several different ways but I got nowhere. I tried the agoda online chat system but they don't seem to allow you tell them what the issue is only select boxes which don't apply to your issue. I called customer support 866 number but the call disconnected with them on their end. I will NOT be using this service again. The prices may be a few dollars lower but if you end up with no room and no recourse it's all pretty useless.
I would give 0 rating if I could! Why put up a room in site when you can't deliver?
I booked a same room twice and got cancellation email due to unforeseen technical circumstances. If it was truest A "technical circumstances" the 1st time, why was the listing not removed?
Reality is the demand for rooms increases and you guys could make more money from the room so you cancelled my room and put it back on sale for higher price!
I did not check my email till today - 2 days before my trip and now I know I don't have a place to stay yet!

I had to give him a star in order to say that his cancellation policy has language that is in favor of them. I was charged 10 days before I arrived at the Hotel, you have no way of talking directly to them until you tell them that you will report them to the relevant agencies and there they are not much help either. We must take this to all the communication networks given by deception and more with us. WHEN DO WE MAKE THE GROUP AND REPORT IT? And I'm willing to go all the way to the last achievement
I've been so frustrated with Agoda. If i could give it 0 stars I would. They kept asking me to upload my ID and CC for verification and made me do it 4 times for whatever reason. After emailing back and forth, they charged my credit card and followed up with another email right after saying " due to an unforseen technical difficulty your booking was not confirmed". I called customer service about this error and they just told me that because they took a long time processing everything, the hotel is now fully booked. I checked right after i got off the phone with the representative and guess what? The hotel is not fully booked! Oh and they just raised the price on the specific room i booked. Thanks for wasting my time Agoda!
When arrived at hotel my booking was nowhere to be found. I had to spend almost an hour trying to find out what happened and why they charged me and send me confirmation email however obviously nobody contacted reservations of the hotel and didn't book anything under my name. After being on a hold for a total of 30 mins situation was not resolved and only what I got is a promised refund. However hotel was already overbooked so I had look for the nearest hotel and book something else in rush, which turn out to be more expansive, so I lost my money, my time and the mood was ruined overall. Terrible experience, will never recommend to anyone.
Please get your act together I booked flights with you and was very lucky to be allowed to board the plane. Saturday the 8th May you sent my booking times to me as 15/20 leaving Newcastle I arrived at the airport 14.00 went to book in and was told I might not get on the plane as I was too late for my flight I showed them my email from you they rang someone then told me to hurry they would hold the plane, now I have just googled the flight out this Saturday 22nd of may my booking with you is for 13/40 and the plane leaves at 12/35. This is discusting how does anyone catch a flight that doesn't exist

Agoda overbooked me and others for vacation spot that was sold out when we arrived. The whole city was sold out.
We had to drive 45 min to the next town just to get a room for double the cost. Agoda replied to my refund request by saying "I" had cancelled the room, and there are no refunds for canceling. I DID NOT CANCEL, they Overbooked.
Do Not Trust Agoda and verify with hotel as soon as you get "Booking" confirmation.
Tried to book a room in DC. They said confirmed, all set. Then an email asking for a photo of the front of the card and a photo of my driver license or passport. I do both. They said there was a problem and had me do it again. Then they said it was confirmed and we were all set. Then the hotel said they did not get anything. Then I started a chat with Agoda customer service. Then they said they sent an email requiring verification. I responded that I had already done that twice. Then they confirmed that they had the documents and that it could take up to an hour for verification. All the while we were standing at the hotel front desk waiting. Then after like 30 min another email stating they needed verification. Had to freeze my credit card and book straight thru the hotel. Well worth the extra $30. I will tell everyone I know on every social media outlet to never use this 3rd party. What a joke. All this for 1 night stay. Always have used booking.com and always had quick easy bookings. Asked my girl to book this as I was driving 11 hr straight and she found this agoda listed at $30 less. Now I see why. Hoping they can not scam and charge the card... may just get a new card after all there incompetence. Save yourself a lot of headache and time and never use this company for anything
Never answered, never gave us access to the property... BUT they charge double for our booking without authorization. The Original bill was $360.00 but at the end after put the credit card they charge another $360.00 as "Other fees". So my boking for two nights was $740.00! Really? SCAMERS! They just steal your money and nobody answer or do anything.
WE "the clients" will hire a lawyers firm to destroy this scam and they will pay us back all the money and time they took from us!
Oor customer service. I was treated poorly at a hotel and requested a refund. Both the hotel and Agoda told me that I would have to go through the other. I told agoda about my experience and the urgency of the matter. Once I told Agoda about how poorly I was treated I was told they would have to "verify" with the hotel about my issue. How do you verify that I was treated badly? The hotel was ran by a guy who barely spoke English and was discriminating me and my guest and completely misunderstood a situation. Agoda informed me that the hotel told them a different story from mine and basically disregarded my issue and told me that they will be abiding with the hotels decision to not give me my money back even though I returned my room key as soon as I checked in and did not stay at the hotel. They do not care about their customers, only the business they do with hotels. Would not recommend, I have never had this experience with ANY other booking site. Go with Expedia, Priceline, booking & hotel.com

The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
