I booked a trip for November in April. I never got a confirmation email. When I tried to cancel they say I can't. There is no talking or even chatting with someone. I'm out $500. This is a scam! Beware!
We booked and confirmed the pyramid at grand oasis months ago. Just arrived and were told that our Pyramid rooms and reservation were no longer available and would be given rooms at a lower cost property.
After travelling the whole day to another country to be told our booking had been cancelled by the hotel was devastating for me and my family and obviously had no other options.
I called the travel agent, who in turn called the broker and they confirmed my Pyramid booking was accurate and that the hotel itself had cancelled / altered our reservation.
We went back later at night to ask if we could upgrade our room from what we were given and were told we could, at a cost to the Pyramid standard!
Obviously our rooms were given away because we originally booked at a fairly cheap rate.
This is the worst experience I've ever had with a hotel and the first time our reservation was altered or cancelled by a hotel.
You need to be able to trust you have the hotel you paid for available and ready when going away with your family.
Do not ever make plans with the grand oasis / Agoda.com
If I could give them a zero I definitely would! I wish I would have read comments about this company prior to my nightmare. I made my original booking and they said they had a price match guarantee I saw that they had my same hotel and room for a cheaper price three days later. I call to get the price adjusted and they told me they couldn't adjust the price that I had to cancel my reservation and rebook. After I rebooked my second reservation three days later I got an email saying that my reservation has been canceled I did not request for it to be canceled I just requested for the price to be adjusted to the cheaper price that they were currently selling for. I was told it was a clerical error. My stupidity they offered me another booking for the same price plus $30 off I agree and later that afternoon I received an email saying that there was fraud on my book and that I needed to send in a copy of my full credit card number and a copy of my ID, shady to say the least. I called them and asked how could we go around this due to the fact that I've never had any other booking company ask for my ID and my credit card prior to showing up at the hotel. They told me all they could do was cancel the reservation. Worst booking experience ever! I am a travel agent and I would never ever use this company again.
My experience with this company is really bad. I've booked a hotel from Agoda website last week, but minutes after completing the booking I've received a call from the hotel saying there wasn't rooms available for my dates, and I was advised to contact them to cancel my booking and get the refund. Today is the 6th day after my first contact with them, and until now they haven't proceed with my refund. So, careful! Agoda sells rooms not available in the hotels! You will lose money with them!
I booked a 4 days stay at the Rosen shingles in Orlando. Agoda lied about the rooms the website gives you a pictures of a suite instead of a standard room that was smelly and disgusting. And they also lie about the hidden fees. From a ridiculous parking of $35 a night to Wi-Fi daily charge to a gym daily charge. Rosen shingles and Agoda are a blood sucking vampires. Stay away.
We booked room at Goldenstate Hotel for me and my wife as per it's shows from online selling at Agoda.com. We want to relax our mind as it's Eid Holiday. We want to unwind, relax our mind for the busy days. The main reason we booked it because the photos showing from online selling looks great. The swimming pool is nice and feel relaxing. Not the bed, not the room but the swimming pool we want to use to relax our body.
But when we come to to check in on 21/07/2021 at around 15:53. The room is not clean, carpet is so dirty. No toiletries, no dental kit, no room guest sleepers, no complimentary coffee or tea.
When we checked the swimming pool on the top floor. The area is not usable, no ac and it's hot. The swimming pool water is color green like a stagnant water never drained for a long time. The area was dusty. The counter bar was closed.
We are so disappointed and feel cheated at the same time. We want to relax but it's come to a horrible experienced. We requested to the front desk manager to cancel our booking and make refund our payment as we don't like to use their facilities. But he don't want to refund what we paid and he wanted us to use the booking. We want to use the swimming pool. What he said they put chemical. It's EID holiday. More customer is coming and they put chemical to their swimming pool? What a lame excuse. How we will use if this is not the one we expect. Very bad experience. We paid also the tourism at the counter at they said it's mandatory. But it didn't help what tourism means is.
I don't want to recommend this hotel Goldenstate Hotel in Jaddaf Dubai and I don't want to recommend. Agoda.com. They should update their online selling adds so it will not miserable experienced. We want refund for the payment. We lost our time, effort and money to go to the hotel and calling their customer service number that it's difficult to contact.
AWFUL, SCAM! Do NOT book with them. We had to dispute with my credit card, couldn't sleep for the night because we didn't have A BED! They kept saying they will help us IN THE MORNING. Ruined vacation. Also, listing was not as advertised. No second bedroom and the bed had nasty poop and hair all over it.
I have paid for 2 nights, and when i called the hotel to check my reservation there were non!
Poor support, i wish i payed a little more in another website than to be Scammed by Agoda!
I booked a room for a friend. After booking it my friend said she felt unwell and couldn't go. I tried to cancel it five minutes after booking it they refused to cancel it without a penalty. They said that even with the penalty I would get credits from their firm when I questioned it they said oh no this is one option and another is to get it back in your card. I mean what kind of stupid option is that! It's a no brainer. I ended up in the hotel to take care of the situation myself. Terrible hotel too. Do not book with this firm. Once you put your cash in their hand say goodbye to it and expect to have rough experience in exchange.
This was our 1st time using Agoda and I just wanted to let everyone know that you should avoid this site. Use Travelocity, Expedia,
Booking.com, Trivago, etc ( one of the main sites that are reputable). Following is our account of our troubles: We checked the box
on their site for a secret deal which they discounted the rate and showed 2 hotels that they would choose from for us. After the
booking was completed, I noticed that the dates were wrong, their site had changed the checkin & checkout dates by 1 day. I canceled
the booking immediately and it showed that I would be billed anyway - no refund. I rebooked the same deal but changed my dates to 1
day earlier on checkin & checkout dates and the booking completed with my correct dates. Its not easy getting in touch with any support.
I finally contacted them thru email and explained to them the problem with their site. I got a response the next day stating that they
would take care of it and I should receive a refund within 72 hrs. After 5 days still no refund so I emailed them again and they
blamed the delay on the Hotel. A few days later we checked into the Hotel and the hotel had no history of the earlier booking. They
showed us that Agoda sent them a virtual credit card with a different # then mine. Agoda has still not give me a refund and Im in the process
of disputing the charges. The way Agoda works by charging your credit card immediately after booking is different then any other
Hotel booking site Ive encountered. Most sites will not charge your card at all or until a day or two before the checkin date. All this
Trouble was Not worth the savings we got. Stay away from Agoda.
They cancelled my booking without to inform me. I had to find another hotel in July and spend much more money. I don't trust them. I ll delete app and all my bookings if I wanna travel safe and stay somewhere.

I was quoted for a price of $129 and then I was charged $426. The money is currently being held from me in my account. Then they messaged and said that they needed a different card because they couldn't process the payment, yet I $426 is on hold in my account. They they kept telling me to sign the agreement or my reservation would be canceled, yet never me the agreement form to sign. So they canceled my reservation but that $426 is still on hold in my account. Don't book through these guys and don't book at ocean dunes resort period.
Agoda would not let me cancel a hotel reservation within the allotted time online or after waiting over 75 minutes I got disconnected from them. They charged my credit card. I reported them to my credit card company and the better business bureau who both said this company is known for this. They are incompetent and are stealing money. Despicable
I dislike, dislike, dislike this website (was raised not to say hate...) so much that when I found out it was a partner/owned by Priceline I decided not to use Priceline for any travel services.
Agoda.com has the worst cancellation policies and they are not industry standard cancellation policies.
Ex., book a hotel and the Priceline/Agoda online cancellation policy (on the hotel booking page) is cancellation is free if done '24 hours before Check-in'. The hotel Check-in is 3:00pm CST. Therefore, most travelers would assume that cancellation could be done 24 hours prior (prior day) to day of arrival at 3:00pm. (Arrival/Check-in on 1/3/2022 at 3:00pm, free cancellation on 1/2/2022 before 3:00pm)
Not on Agoda. If you dive deep into their cancellation verbiage it's actually 48 hours before the day of arrival/3:00pm Check-in. (Before 12:00AM/midnight on 1/1/2022)
Misleading and dishonest.
This is a terrible site! Run, run quickly do not use this site. We had issues trying to change our reservation in the hotel. There is no customer service and when they finally responded to our chat and emails they sent a customer service numbers of xxx-xxxx xxxx yeah no numbers what's so ever what a crock this site is along with kiwi.com! Agoda took our money to make a hotel reservation and when we got to the hotel 3.5 hours later, they said they didn't have the reservation. We booked a room through the hotel itself and now agoda won't respond or refund us. Total bs. Never use this site.

Very dissatisfied with this hotel booking site and I didn't even get a chance to stay at the hotel I booked a one night stay at this hotel through the website Agoda. The site was advertising the room for $88 a night. When i went to pay for the room the additional information popped up which stated
" Important Information
The USD 25.00 daily amenity fee now includes the following two new benefits: Blu-ray/ DVD movies and PS3 games; Local and toll-free calls; Chilled water in the lobby; Use of beach towels and sand chairs; Daily local newspaper in the lobby; Waikiki shuttle service; In-room coffee packets replenished daily; Wi-Fi internet access throughout hotel; In-room safe; Bishop Museum admission for 2 guests; and Honolulu Museum of Art admission for 2 guests."
That was all the information i was told about regarding any additional fees. Went i went to pay for the room with hotel taxes and fees the room came to 106.09.
When i went to go check in the hotel clerk stated that it would be an additional $114 dollars for the room. After speaking with them about not correctly advertising the price for the room they refused to give me a refund. DO NOT BOOK WITH AGODA
We booked a weekend on the 3rd of june 2021 with agoda, and when we arrived the hottelier told us that they are not working with Agoda and that they had no room for us! We were the seventh couple that day who had this problem at the sme hotel! After hours on the phone negocitating with the so called customer service in Hungaria, they could'nt find us a place to stay for the night and offered us to organize our own arrangement. They even offer us a cash compension up to 300 EUR if we could provide an hotel invoice. After hours of search we finally found an hotel and had to ay 400 EUR. We sent the invoice as agreed per phone + per mail with Agoda and now we are struggling with they customer service for weeks because Agoda doesn't agree to reimbourse us the 300 EUR promised. So even if the price are very low on this wesite, don't be a fool and don't book - they are not a proper travelling agent and a have a very bad customer service!

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
