My view on different counts
1.The site was showing free cancellation
2. The site was showing booking for 2 adults.
3. The site was showing free breakfast.
My experience
1. The site asked me to enter my card details when I entered it taken the full amount from my card and I received a message
A. Booking confirmed for one person.
B. No breakfast was included
2. Immediately I wanted to cancel the booking reply I got
A. Booking can't be cancelled
B. The policy is non negotiable
I made a cancellation for a non-refundable booking by mistake, so I directly contacted the hotel and they agreed directly to reinstate the booking as long as I contact Agoda and get their confirmation. So, I did, however Agoda mentioned that they can't confirm my booking except after reaching the hotel. They delayed their reply and only shared the confirmation of my booking 1 day after my check in date. I tried to even compromise, given the booking is non-refundable and change my booking dates, however they refused to cooperate, despite being their fault.
Greedy company only interested in taking your money, not the least bit helpful or accommodating when it comes to travel plan changes. I will never use them again nor suggest them to anyone else.
Avoid bookings with them very poor customer service. No resolution for issues they just dont care about the customer!
Hotel cancelled my reservation Agoda has been an absolute joke trying to deal with. It been 14 days as of this review trying to get a refund, they keep saying they can't get in contact with the hotel to confirm that it was actually cancelled yet I had no problem contacting the hotel and getting the general manager to send me a copy of the cancellation receipt. I forwarded it to Agoda and they won't even acknowledge it. Agoda is here to swindle you. Book through any other agency or the actual hotel. Can't stress it enough.
Agoda made system error while we were reserving a room They reserved the wrong date no refund to us.
I originally booked a hotel for 12 days with Agoda. When I changed the dates of my booking I was unaware that Agoda had created another booking number. When my flight was cancelled due to covid, I cancelled my original booking still unaware that I now had 2 booking numbers. I just received a credit card bill for $650 for the second booking number created by Agoda when I changed the dates on my original booking. Totally underhanded booking policies!
They provide you with cheap hotels that's a good of marketing and it's one way to attract many people we all agree but as soon as you make your reservation they cancel it and tell you that the prices were increased + your money will be refunded with 14 days! Are you kidding me whey the he ll im gonna wait for 14 days and it's not my mistake the money is needed to make other reservations!
I've had no problems with booking rooms at hotels. But booking a flight is totally different. I booked a flight for 2 from IST to Kiev and was rerouted through Kayak and some chump company called travelgenio... who charged me but never sent e-tickets or any confirmation number

The booking was a week off, tried to change to correct date, no customer service help, telephone #'s to contact have been changed or disconnected. Cancelled date but still charged, no way to contact anyone, it appears to be like a scam, I will never use again and will tell anyone who asks not to use. Watch this company it is a rip off.
I booked a King Bed room through their site. When I got to the property, they said the room was a far cheaper room that was booked through Expedia and had two single beds and no bathroom. Difference in price between the rooms was about $75 per night. Customer service at Agoda admitted it was their error but would only agree to egging about $30 per night. Do not use this site. They are an intermediary and will use other lodging booking sites to book your room.
If you make reservation for one of your employees or any guest, under your company name, then, you put yourself in the trouble with their complicated system.
In their form you should write, who's doing the reservation. So we put: our company name.
In their form too, you should write the guest name, who will stay at the reserved room, so, we put the name of our guest.
But, Agoda had made the reservation with the hotel, as our company is the guest, and they ignore the real guest name.
So the hotel didn't accept to let the right guest stays in the hotel.
We called Agoda offices in UK and Thailand, which cost us more than the reservation itself, just to correct their mistake, or to close their system gap. I believe that they tried their best, but at the end, I found myself in an embarrassing situation, specially that the issue hasn't been solved, when the guest is waiting, angry and confused in the lobby at the hotel.
Then, we obliged to made a new reservation with another agent.
Now we are waiting to see if they will refund us or not.
When I placed a reservation for a hotel with Agoda they sent me a confirmation email and in the email was the wrong address for the hotel and a gps link that took me the incorrect location of the hotel an hour in the opposite direction... horrible!

I stayed without hotel during my vacations. They cancelled without my permission my booking because of a system error in charging. They are unreliable. Stay away from this site. I lost a lot of money because of them
They offered a hotel, let us enter card details, gave us a booking confirmation number and instead of a confirmation email I got a cancellation email. This meant that we missed out on other rooms that were then booked up. This is not acceptable and has left me more than cheesed off! If I could give 0 stars I would!
I have used third party sites before and have never been burned until now. Before booking thru them I read all the disclaimers. Next to the rate it said "free cancellation". Once I input my credit card my confirmation said "non refundable". Customer service disconnected me 4x and my emails were returned with an automated reply that I was not writing from the email address I used to book (not accurate). This is site is a scam and should be investigated.
The South Padre Island Corpus Christi TX hotel I book this past week end had unwanted hotel guests in my 305.00 1nt hotel room purchased via Agoda. I was disgusted. My experience with obtaining a refund via Agoda was painfully frustrating. Talk about placing blame towards their own 3rd party partner. They also recruited me as the liaison supervisor in chief to coordinate the emails between the hotel, Agoda and third party in order to obtain a full refund as quickly as possible. It was a sold out week end in South Padre Island; I slept in my car. It felt as if No one took responsibility no one really cared. COVID19 responsible SERVICE. I did get a 100 % refund and emails from Agoda junk advertisement. Lol.
They are fraud and misleading customers. They are good for nothing. Never ever trust them to make bookings.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
