Agoda Hotel booking app is fraud, 100% manipulators.
They claim to offer lowest price and gives you 10 minutes to book.
When U book for 2 pax they final page will show you increased amounts marked as Total payment with all taxes.
Hidden in this is they show some extra charges which are not clarified,
When you click on that, it will say extra person charges. Whereas no extra person travels with you, without explaining the extra charges on total payment page, this is how they collect 20–25% extra being their fees / commission.
But they claim ZERO FEES on Booking.
When You call customer care, they reply you saying the total amount was shown to you before payment, after that you decided to Book.
Here is where you will be helpless, if you cancel cancellation charges will apply & this goes into Agoda pocket, if you continue the booking, you feel cheated.
Why Agoda plays so cheap and dirty tricks to earn commission by making false claim of ZERO FEES for Booking & display cheaper price than other portals.
This company is a scammer! Never book through them. They sell rooms in hotels that are actually not available, then they promise to give you money when you call them, but in fact they don't give it back!
Booked a hotel through Agoda who took my card details and did zero amount transaction.
While checking in, hotel collected room charges from me as they had not received any money.
After few days, on receipt of bank statement, I noticed that amount equal to room rent was debited to my account for Agoda.
Now hotel refuses to refund amount.
Agoda does not respond to emails neither their phones work.
I understand, they don't have any office in India or any customer support contacts. It has ended in paying double.

AND COURSE ANYONE TO DO NOT MAKE A BOOKING THERE - it is dangerous for your life, the support team will not help you in an emergency and will not provide any refunds! I'm going to sue this company, I'm going to my lawyers and I'm going to state court!
There was a situation - the hotel that I booked was attacked by homeless people who broke into the glass, attacked and yelled, this happened even before check-in. The hotel security stood and laughed while the bum caused harm.
They let him do it. After that, I was informed that guests are not allowed to leave the hotel after 12 midnight, which is contrary to human rights. They also offered me a disabled person with a broken leg to climb the stairs to the third floor, when I said that it was impossible, they began to laugh in my face and insult me. I did not check into this hotel and contacted Agoda support
asking to cancel the booking and refund the money, as I made a reservation at a new hotel on the same evening. I was denied a refund. If you care about your safety, do not use this service ever in your life!

I had a bitter experience with Agoda Hotel Booking. The booking was confirmed but they could not charge my card due to some technical issue. Tried with another card but the result was same. Contacted the property directly and they informed me that they would never agree to the price quoted by Agoda which was way below their regular rate. I had no choice but to book through the property directly. Complained to Agoda but they did not respond properly. I regret having booked through Agoda. Never again
Had prepaid booking through Agoda checking in on first day of Eid Holiday 9th July 22 with "The Royal Albatros Moderna - Sharm Elsheikh". After I filled out the check-in form, and they took copies of my passport and my wife and kids, and went to see the room, they asked me to go back to reception. The shocking experience started that they cannot check me in because my booking is coming from "Thailand" and I'm from "Kuwait" and the only solution to check-in was to pay extra money equal to double my prepaid amount for coming from Kuwait because the market the reservation came from was Thailand (which I didn't know about because I just booked from Agoda site in my country Kuwait). Tried to talk with reservation, reception, cashier, and manager in charge and no solution. Chatting with Agoda customer sercvie is useless they couldn't make any decision. Also calling the customer service number in the UK for more than 1 hour also didn't work. Then I left the hotel and requested a refund through Agoda and the the Hotel and they denied refund because it was considered a "No-Show" even though I was in the hotel at the date and time of check-in. Since July22 and until today, trying to send emails and making calls and they ignored me. Didn't offer any discount, nor cashback. They just took my money, plain and simple. Not expected and shocking experience. Refernces available upon request. They just lost 1 loyal member.
I booked a room with breakfast in Bangkok, upon arriving for breakfast I proceeded to give my room number then went to get my food (remember I have a hangover and it's 7am) the staff came over to tell me I have to pay as I booked room only. They showed me the confirmation from Agoda. Being hungover and hungry I couldn't be bothered arguing so I ate breakfast anyway. Later I showed them my confirmation and they aploogised. Went to Agoda office as I was close by. They basically blamed the hotel and gave me a 50% refund as an apology.
Used the 50% refund apology to book another hotel that night. Again after a day on the batter back for a sleep, water started pissing out the ceiling from the Aircon landing right beside the bed. 11pm at this time so I called reception, bell boy came to the room and said I caused this as I changed the temperature! Went to reception to ask for another room. No suitable room available and wouldn't move me to another hotel.Hotel solution was check out (pissed mind)and find another hotel myself at 11pm at night. Contacted Agoda who just said ok we note your comments.no help of finding another room or nothing.
For the next week on chat with Agoda and basically they were doing nothing.
Turned up at their office again 1 week later as managers refused to return calls.
They gave me a 100% refund then blacklisted me from booking rooms through Agoda.com. Very shoddy company
So far I have yet to use the Agoda App and receive what I reserved upon arrival, such as requesting a balcony and king bed and none being available when I arrive, yet that's what I paid for in advance. Now, twice, When I get onsite to the hotel, they took my card (for "incidentals) and charged me, too. I prepaid for 2 nights for a room I did not want (didn't have the amenities I needed,) So I decided not to stay the 2nd night, yet still have to pay for it, since it's all "prepaid", thanks to the Agoda bait and switch. The irony is I ended up paying 3 nights for the 1 night I used in a room that did not meet my needs. The last time I stayed at this same property, I was double charged, but the hotel reversed the 2nd charge, acknowledging their Agoda pre-payment. I approached the hotel, again, for the most recent issue of being charged 3x for the 1 night and I'm still awaiting their refunding decision.
I booked a room through Agoda but the date booked was wrong. I rang them within 5 minutes of booking to change the date but they said it was up to the hotel to authorise the change and they'd get back to me. When they did email me back they said the hotel had said no, so I rang the hotel and they said they had heard nothing from Agoda but a change was fine. I rang Agoda back and they said they would follow it up but they came back saying the hotel had said no. I repeated the process, ringing the hotel who were lovely and Agoda who couldn't be bothered. On the 4th time of ringing, the Hotel said forget Agoda who they'd had no contact from and the just changed the booking. The moral of the story is to use Agoda as a price reference but try booking with the hotel directly, for a better service. Agoda, please do yourself a favour and avoid them!

I booked through Agoda, and when I arrived at the hotel, there was no reservation for me. I talked to Agoda customer support and tried to resolve the issue because I had to stay somewhere else that night. They assured me the room was ready and available for me, but no room was reserved. The hotel told me they had been booked all day long, and there were no rooms available when I placed the reservation I told I got a the same information. The hotel told me that there was never any vacancy for that day. They chargeedmy card so I filed a dispute and they have continued to argue with the credit card company. I had booked a hotel a month in advance and done the payment. 2 days before the travel date I call the hotel to confirm the booking status as I was travelling with a baby. I was told we're sold out on those dates. Then I called Agoda customer support, he tells me it's not agoda's fault, it is the hotels fault. If I have booked via Agoda, they are answerable. Such pathetic attitude. No one caredv to call and inform me the booking is cancelled. Thank god I was saved from the horror of reaching there and being told no rooms available. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
