My credit card was compromised and somehow they included Agoda as being not one of my charges. As soon as Agoda contacted me, I called my creditor and told them to pay Agoda because that was indeed my charge. Well after that, agoda treated me like I was some sort of fraud, requiring a picture of me with my identification. Ok so I sent them what they wanted and STILL refused my business. These guys are complete morons! Stay clear of them!

I booked a hotel for my trip to London with my credit card but cancelled a few days later in July. In September there was a $1,000 charge on my debit card from Agoda. I was in London at the time so when I got home a couple days later I immediately contaced Agoda customer service. They were quick to respond however communication was confusing and a waste of time because I received a reply from a different customer service rep each time which meant explaining my proplem over & over. I was charged an unauthorized transaction, a fraud transaction. Agoda said it was a duplicte reservation for the exact hotel I had booked & cancelled in July. I said well that's the problem, I didn't have a duplicate booking. They stopped responding. My bank would not refund me the money so I lost $1,000. $1,000 is a lot of money to me, I'm not rich. It's sad large companies don't care about the average person, only about the money they make.
I was traveling with my parents and I received the cancelation email by the host on the same day of our check in date. And take note we were already at the Hotel when we received this notification.
Apparently, The Host already informed Agoda that they are currently doing repairs and aren't accepting any booking. However, Agoda still continues to accept bookings on their website despite the the unit's unavailability.
I requested for a refund with customer service agoda and they keep asking questions about my payment, my bank statements, and proof of receipt, when clearly its in their website that payment was paid in full and then got canceled.
Worst experience. Stay away from Agoda.
I had to get a refund from my hotel stay since the hotel had construction going on Sunday morning at 730 AM next door. Agoda decided to jack up the 1st night's booking price out of nowhere and proceeded to refund a very dismal remaining amount. That's called Business Fraud and as a customer I can't do anything about it. Apparently Agoda can alter the price that you agreed to book at to have a advantage on refund amounts. You have been warned.
At first no problem, but now I find there pricing up & down like a Yo-yo. I was sent an email to extend my stay very cheap $ 9.00 night I filled out the payment info when I clicked send the page FROZE! In the meantime I had booked for 1 night to see by next day the prices it took 11 hrs to receive that 1 night booking that's when I received the $ 9.00 deal. It's incredibly difficult to find Chat help... When I did always rushing me couldn't even finish a damn sentence. The chat person said NO PROBLEM Sir it's corrected booked 10 days at $ 10.00 night WELL GUESS WHAT! I was booked for 5 nights at $ 17.20 NOT $ 9.00 WTF! NOW I CAN'T CANCEL but I'm supposed to pay the Hotel and I refuse so here I am waiting for answers! Agoda has over 4,000 complaints
They have a lot of hidden extra costs and if you use the pay later option they can charge you more than the price you agreed upon when you first made the booking. Avoid using Agoda if you can. Not worth the hassle and headache.
Booking was confirmed but property management not delivered me room on booking date and time. When I went to hotel but hotel management said we have not received any booking on your name. I called c.c. But nothing happened only amount refunded but my time, my money, my prestige lost. C.C. Was shouting on me when I asked justice for the same. Don't use for hotel bookings Agoda. Their management without taking confirmation from property management giving you rooms.

I booked and pre-paid an apartment for the whole month in Bangkok, but the host never responded. Just disappeared. The support was extremely hard to reach, and they were not willing to solve this situation. I had to call them dozens of times and speak with dozens of support managers to finally request a refund. It took 2 days of uncertainty and nerves. And turns out they don't even have their own refund system: they passed this issue to a third-party transfer system. Astonishing incompetence for such a big platform.
Fast forward 2 weeks, the money hasn't arrived yet, and the support won't respond at all, because they consider this booking closed, and the booking number isn't valid anymore. Anyway, there's still hope that it will resolve gladly, but I'm having a really bad time as a customer. I will never ever have any business with Agoda, even if they host the last apartment on Earth.
They double booked my room and i didnt get to stay. If you book through Agoda and have a problem they will tell you to contact the property and when you contact the property they will tell you it's the booking agents problem. Back and forth like this, nothing gets resolved and no one cares. They stole my money
Agoda is the clear example of how obsolete the need of the middle man is. Not only their web interface booked us an hotel 3 months after what we filled in, as they completely denied the issue and refused to help us! Outrageous customer service. After hours of trying to resolve the issue with the hotel where we were supposed to stay in, they accepted to cancel the booking and refund us. However, they lacked any courtesy on trying to sort us with another hotel to stay and put NO EFFORT in providing a solution! No compensation whatsoever! We ended up sleeping in our rented car as there was no affordable hotels in the countryside where we were...

Booked a hotel on Aug 19th with full cancellation applicable and no payment needed till Dec 23. Sugddenly the property asks for full payment non-refunbale payment to confirm the booking. Spoke to Agoda and they are not standing by the TCs mentioned on their webiste and asking as well for the payment. This is dissapointing and totally unaccetpable.
Took our money and then cancelled the booking. Phoned multiple times and they would not sort it over the phone. Do not use, essentially they are happy to scam you our of your money.
1. Using Agoda already messed up my entire trip. Capri hotel manager mentioned that if we had booked direct through their website, they would have been able to do the compensation. But since we booked through Agoda, there's nothing they could do. I'll leave the issue bout the hotel out since this is a review about Agoda.
2. To make matter worse and more frustrating, the case is taken over by different Agoda staffs each reply. 1st staff Romarica offered a 50% refund, whereby I appealed for 100% instead. 2nd staff told me full refund will be sent back to my credit card, and all of a sudden a 3rd staff said there'll be no refund.
Wtf a total disaster. After a chain of messages, I'm back to square results, except now the followed up staffs are more clueless than ever. The more I messaged, the more staffs takeover the case, the more they had no idea what the case is about. Some staffs eg. Shruti, have no idea what they're talking about.
3. Instead of getting a protection by Agoda as a middleman, Agoda messed up my chances of getting my recovery. The new staffs taking over the case are not able to liaise with the hotel as they are completely clueless regarding the case. I checked the hotel direct pricing and it is also cheaper there. Explain to us why should we use Agoda then?
4. Reviews on Agoda are fake. My good review was published immediately, and my poor review got blocked. Been 5 days and it has not been published after I submitted. Don't trust what you see.
I have Booked my hotel from Agoda. But Hotel Owner is not provide any room. He said we didn't accept Agoda booking.
Had a terrible experience booking through Agoda. I requested a hotel in Newport Beach, but 30 minutes after my booking was pending confirmation I noticed I incorrectly entered the wrong dates. I called customer service and asked them to fix the error. They told me my booking was non refundable or amendable but I too screenshots that there was never any notice of that cancellation policy. They said they had to send a request to see if the supplier would approve and would send me an email in an hour. I got an email that my request was denied. Next day I called the property and they said yes no problem we will approve the request. Have them cancel your booking and we will waive the charge. I called Agoda again and the rep tried to lie and I said no, I spoke to the property. They said they will approve it. She said fine. They wrote me an email and said I should make a new booking and the cost went up $200. Great… and they said upon cancellation I would get my refund. To my surprise… they sent me Agoda cash. I called and said no, I want a refund to my cc and again they tried to lie and said the middle man denied my refund. I said no, that's not true. I'm waiting to see status but have spoken to 10 different reps. Such a terrible terrible terrible experience.

Booked with free cancellation policy. After I have booked and paid, the confirmation email states that there is a 62% cancellation fee!
Unfortunately due to circumstances I did have to cancel within a few hours of the booking. They took my cancellation fee.
Thought it is their system mistake and wrote in to them with a screenshot of their own website showing the free cancellation, for the price I have paid on the particular hotel to tell them they have made a mistake.
There isn't even an option to pay a lower rate that comes with cancellation fee for this particular hotel. Only available options are the stated rates with free cancellations.
Unfortunately, they refuse to honour it and replied with a standard reply saying the confirmation email says otherwise and I have booked with a non free cancellation terms.
Gave them the benefit of the doubt and replied to them with the screenshot again, and clarified I have only received the confirmation email AFTER I have booked and paid based on their free cancellation ratesamd obviously they are wrong. Disappointingly, I received another same template reply that my confirmation email states there is a cancellation charges.

Avoid Agoda at all costs. I ended up booking with other website and things are smooth and good. No payments for their free cancellation bookings, real and ethical policies unlike Agoda.

Do not use them, if you ever get anyone on customer service they will speak very little English but there name will be Chuck or Brittany. Checked into a nasty hotel through them and when I finally got through to customer service it was a terrible experience, they had booked my hotel through another party so the chances of getting my money back is probably slim to none. I will never use them again and the old saying, you get what you pay for is true with them! Only my opinion and I stick by it.

Answer: For me as well very bad experience with this site. The administrator failed to confirm my booking in the evening, claiming they could not see it in their system and stating that the reserved room was unavailable, despite all the correct booking information being provided. Instead, they offered me a different room. At 10 PM on December 31st, traveling with a child, I had no choice but to agree and pay again for the alternative room. I immediately reported the issue to Agoda for assistance. The room we were given was in an unacceptable condition: it was dirty, there were holes in the bathroom walls, and mold was visible. It was nowhere near the standard described in the booking. The following morning, a different administrator located my original booking and refunded the payment for the additional room. However, they falsely claimed that I had stayed in the room I originally booked. This is not true—the room I stayed in differed significantly from the description and photos provided at the time of booking. Despite providing all necessary evidence, Agoda has refused to support my complaint, stating that the hotel confirmed my booking, which does not address the poor service, the forced additional payment, or the unacceptable condition of the room. This experience demonstrates an appalling lack of customer care from both the hotel and Agoda. As a customer, I feel my rights were ignored, and no proper resolution was provided. I expect Agoda to take accountability and address this issue properly, as this level of service is completely unacceptable.
Answer: Well, you probably need to call the customer service online or send them email from Agoda to get a reply. I feel that it was in vain to look for any help or compensation once your reservation has been done. Even the you overlooked some tricky information, Agoda will completely ignore what you said and push the blame to the hotel/property or the users. That is how I feel after trying so sort our the issue. Once a mistake is made, we probably can only eat it. Never expect they will admit any misinformation on line.
