Google AdWords is frustrating and here's their phone number so you can yell at them - Google AdWords has a poorly designed user interface - it's hard to navigate and slow. Moreover, they do not let you do simple things like change your billing from pre-pay to post pay. Lastly, getting decent customer service help is next to impossible - they just email you links to their help pages, which is infuriating if you've already read them. So if you're unhappy like me, the best thing you can do is call them, complain and get them to fix it.

Here's their customer service number - *******453 - let them have it.

The most frustrating thing about using AdWords is that their customer support never gives direct answers. They reference the policies and guidelines but never provide any real help. Looks like it is all just about making money for them in the end... but how successful would they be if the customers just leave because of the poor support. Internet nowadays provides a wide variety of advertising opportunities. AdWords seem to be the most effective one for now, but how long can they last like that...

Worth the cost
January 18, 2021

There have been several negative reviews, but I have had nothing but excellent service from AdWords so far. It has cost our business quite a tidy some in marketing budget, but I think the results are worth it

Great account srategist
January 24, 2018

The rep had followed up twice and gave us a plan that brought us to the top listing. After reading the all the sour reviews I had to wonder if some people actually know how this all works and are they talking about the same people. For those getting started and are not sure as it is tricky please request help and have some knowledge on how the system works.

I have been using Google Adwords for my clients for years. I have noticed that recent changes to their algo has made cost per click go up. It is frustrating when you work on a campaign and it's performing well, and suddenly the budget is double. Still a great platform to reach your customer.

Like it or not, Google Ads is the ONLY paid method for achieving visibility among customers via search engines. The interface is very powerful but customer support is available to troubleshoot any concerns. I recently spoke with a support specialist named Indrajeet and he went above and beyond in analyzing problems with my account. We were able to implement changes on the telephone to generate increased visibility for my campaign. Indrajeet is really incredible and knowledgeable about the Google Ads system in a way that I can only aspire to achieve. He really helped to save my bacon in a time of high stress.

Annoying
July 15, 2017

Google Adwords has been somewhat effective in increasing inward bound calls. Unfortunately, most of these calls are sales call. And of the sales calls, Google is among the worst in pestering us with inbound calls from Google Adwords salespeople. We have requested to not be called regarding upgrading our Google Adword services, yet we still recieve between 2-7 calls a day. We are a small company of three people and do not have time to waste on dealing with persistent sales call from the company we pay for services. It is very frustrating and it has almost got to the point where we are considering cancelling our services, on principle. However, we also know that now we are on their map and will continue to recieve these sales calls till Google runs blue in the face.

I am running my Ad-words account for about 4 years continually. Whenever I have asked any question regarding my Ad-words running ads issue, the Ad-words executives have never satisfied me with their reply for any issue. They only diddle their customers. If the customer is technical they try to roam him, when they understood customer is technical they can not roam him longer, they put him on hold for long time and after returning 20 to 30 mins they cut the calls, saying hello - hello and asuming they are not getting voice of customer. This is the way to handle their Ad-words customers.

Adwords works for me. I've been a customer for years and continue to use the service as my primary marketing method.
But, and it's a big 'but'. The Adwords team are just totally untrustworthy. They will do anything to get every last dime from you, often by stealthy methods.
Three times over the last five years the Adwords team have changed the rules to randomly (and without warning) empty my bank account. They change the way budget limits work, bid strategy rules, and other stealthy ways to spend your budget. An example is the daily spending limit: Once, this was exactly what it says it is, a limit for the daily spend. However, this was suddenly changed to an 'average daily spend limit' (meaning that Adwords will simply increase the bid price until your daily spend is used). These things can come as an expensive surprise if you're not watching your Adwords account closely... and those Adwords advisers will only ever advise you to spend more money, often with worst results.
So, if you're going to use the service then check your spend regularly and make sure you can absorb a random big bill every year or so. Think 'used car salespeople', useful, but be careful when dealing with them.

Awful Results!
July 14, 2017

Spent over $1,000 in ads for a chiropractic office and didn't get a single patient. The salespeople like to make a lot of promises about the great results you will see, but it is all lies! Spend your money elsewhere.

I've ran hundreds of accounts since 2005. No account is safe unless you spend a lot. Just think about that business model. Customer service, especially the india branch is clueless and know less about the platform than most users. Sadly because they have no real competition, any online business is stuck with them.

Google adwords might be great for some however it's an expensive waste of money and time, we've spent £1000's and days / weeks / months trying to get the best out of it, but still at the end of the day the budget gets drained and conversion rate just doesn't cut it, we reverted to manual cpc because google's automated methods drain money even quicker, If you are willing to try then be prepared to lose money because unless you have high profit margins it just doesn't work. Never been more frustrated than using google shopping, I might as well gone to the bank drew out a few thousand and chucked it down the drain

I'm starting to think this is a HUGE scam. They know it doesn't work but they keep it going because there are many fools out there, like you and me. Guys! Google AdWords is a HUGE WASTE of money. I got around 140 clicks on my ad (in one day) but when I checked my Analytics, I saw a 80% bounce rate (Bounce Rate: The percentage of single-page sessions in which there was no interaction with the page. A bounced session has a duration of 0 seconds.) Basically people clicked on the ad by mistake. And yes! You will pay for that! Google doesn't care. Customer support is absolute garbage and a waste of time. My suggestion is, if you have a card on file, report it stolen/lost so they will not be able to charge you.

They charge hundreds of dollars for inadequate service that does f"ck all in terms of driving traffic and increasing awareness of our business. When we complained (several times in fact) via complaints forms and supervisors etc (who seem to be the same people that administered our ads in the first place) nothing was done except threats to pay or they would cancel our account. Great job google. You have an A1 rating for theft and deceit. You have no recourse with this business. When they do the wrong thing, they will still take your money and you still dont have a name or a face to sue. Stay away!

In September 2019 a google AdWords representative emailed and called me to "update" my settings, but he didn't tell me the changes would increase my monthly outlay 6 times. Previously I spent about $30/mo, which shot up to $180 over the month.

Change name to Fraudle!
November 1, 2018

Our experience was the same as most here but had money returned by CC company.
No ads appearing, money disappearing, bogus calls for other businesses and money taken from our account without authorisation. I reported them to Action Fraud and got a crime number. You can also dial 101 to report. I suggest anyone with a similar problem do the same as taking our money without permission is a crime in UK. We then reported them to my credit card company who refunded not only the unauthorised payments but the other payments also as the service contracted for was not received. Don't even bother complaining to Google, they told me a family member must have 'bought' something from them. Lol!

I've been with Google AdWords for over 12 years. During that time I have seen them throttle my impressions from thousands to hundreds. They've indicated to me that it's algorithms that do this. Yes it is algorithms controlled and intentionally done by them. My 12 years of records show it's greed on their part, they just want you to pay more as the throttle down your impressions. I hope the American government has the balls to break them up. They really don't give a $hit about America and they promote hatred, riots, protests and division.

NO STARS.
It used to be relatively simple to set up Adwords. Now it's horrible and will suck all your money for bad bad bad service. Make sure your bank balance is empty so they can't practise their fraud upon you.

Avoid at all costs!
April 8, 2018

If I could leave zero stars I would. They've taken money from my account and are doing everything in their power to not return it, even though I've been promised a refund on multiple occasions. All the calls are from Indian call centres and the service is beyond pathetic. I cannot tell you in a small review the stress and hassle they have caused me.

I've been a google advertiser for over 18 years and always had a great experiences until the past 2 weeks. I've called google Ads 3 times, spoken to 3 different people about why one of my campaign that I reactivated is not getting any impressions. I have spent over one hour total but no one has been able to resolve my issue or even guide me as to what I need to do to get the campaign running.
I don't have any issues with where the call center is located but if the staff is poorly trained or incompetent, there is no point in calling and wasting my time. I'm very disappointed.
