The Absolute WORST company to deal with! Skip at ALL cost!
I've purchased a GE dishwasher from them only 7 months ago and after 3.5 months of use, it's leaking!
More than that, yesterday the dishwasher door started to drop open without control or resistance!
The door opened on my dog's back resulting in INJURY! (thankfully, it wasn't my toddler in there!)
The worst part of all, instead of taking accountability for a (clearly) defective unit- they've tossed me into the manicure's hands, RUDELY saying " that they have a store to run and can't talk to me"…
And this is with me being under THE ONE YEAR WARRANTY!
Guys, avoid at ALL cost!
They will not stand behind their products, "unless you live in Chicago" BUT they will still sell you even if you're living in NY!
To make things short, AVOID this 100% rude and unprofessional company, for your own sake!

My mother, 90, bought a Samsung smart TV from Abt for $660 in 2022. It lasted only two years and Abt wants to sell her another TV for a higher price. Now I know why Abt makes so much money. They sell defective products that can't be repaired, only replaced. And they take advantage of little old ladies.

You get personal service rapidly, they are extremely knowledgeable about their products, high quality at an affordable price, price dropped as I was checking out and was automatically applied. HOW IS THAT FOR SERVICE. I AM A SHOPPER AND NEVER BEEN SO HAPPY TO SPEND MY MONEY *******@try them
you'll be raving about your experience as I do. I purchased too many things for photos: fridge, stove, wash, dryer, microwave, 2 tvs and a mount, and a dish washer and had my salesmans attention through the entire process, even took me to cashier to make my payment. I AM NOW A LIFETIME SHOPPER AT ABT!

This is the 1st time I bought anything from ABT and I purchased online. Mike McCoy made the online ordering process easy and smooth. The two delivery drivers were very professional, polite, efficient and courteous. I will buy again from ABT.

Didn't get anything

Paid 56.08 for 2 heated electric vehicles that was on sale but haven't gotten ANYTHING! So I'm really upset I guess I should have known too good to be true

Second crappy range
October 11, 2023

Bought an LG double oven from ABT in 2017. It never registered the correct temperature in the oven.
Had service out several times to fix it. It never was right.
Just replace the junk with another range. This time a Samsung single oven. Not even 2 months old and service has been out to fix the same problem. Temp is off my 75 - 100 degrees. Now waiting for parts to come in.
I will never buy from them again. Home Depot or Lowes in the future.

7/2/23 flood day in Chicago. Damaged Frigidaire Refrigerator. Supplied part number from repair technician at my home. Part number was 5304 526 091. Pic number 1 below. Contacted ABT as this is where frig was purchased. Order took four weeks to receive after numerous follow ups and conversations with parts department. (Ruby is the parts manager.) When the repair tech came to work on the frig he found that the part we received was incorrect! It is in the attached 2nd picture below- part number received was 5304 520 509. When I contacted ABT the rep said I would get a return label so I could return the part? Where is the customer service in that? Where is the time I spent hunting for the shipment to be received? ABT has been dropping standards in my opinion. They also indicated they ordered what was told to them verbally as the part that was needed. The part number should always be the driving force of an order nothing else. So, here we go again ordering the correct part from another vendor.

The professionals that are part of the Mobile Install team are always incredibly responsive and ensure a very smooth transaction. Buyer Beware!

Purchased a very expensive dishwasher that apparently is used, missing parts, dirty with water inside and we hooked up a spraying leak from water valve! When I called them for help they said to call Bosch! Never ever ever buy from them unless you want massive problems!

Orders get cancelled without notice a day after being placed and charged. Customer service does not answer the phone. Live Chat is unhelpful and misleading and apparently not even connected to the company. And when you finally do get through via email you get some completely idiotic and asinine scripted explanation of policies. No apologies offered for time wasted. Idiotic suggestions about wiring them funds for the transaction. Don't waste your time.

Abt apologizes for any problems the customer experienced with their order. When our web order verification department processed the order it did not meet the automated security checks. This order was flagged as fraud by a 3rd party verification company, and when the information doesn't match what is on file with the credit card company it is automatically canceled. We suggested using an alternate method of payment (wire transfer) if they wanted to proceed with the order. We're sorry for any misunderstanding or confusion this may have caused.

I've been dealing with ABT on and off for the past three years. I moved into the Northbrook area where the person who previously lived there, had the ELAN system. I personally feel it's an outdated system, but I need to call abt to get certain issues with the system resolved, especially with changes in Internet system or the thermostat. Every time I called they seem to want to sell me something that cost thousands of dollars which is not what I want. It's come to the point where I'm almost hesitant to call them even though I probably should.

I notice with these reviews the service was so much better prior to 2019 and afterwards, Most of the reviews have been very poor. I hope they see this and look as a way to improve how they treat customers just because your clientele have more money and they can do with doesn't mean you should treat the ones that want to save a little money like there's nothing.

Neil- Sorry to hear you feel this way. You are correct in stating your Elan system is out of date. Our team was simply suggesting ways to update it for you. Our staff are experts in control systems and our pricing is competitive. It appears as if your last purchase from us was back in 2020 so we aren't sure why you would post this almost 3 years later.

As far as reviews of our company, you may want to take another look at the big review sites like Google, Yelp, and the BBB where we retain thousands of 5-star reviews. The site you posted on has a very small sample with only 31 reviews (as of 8/2023).

Unable to contact

I placed an order with them for a tub wall system with no tracking number and when I tried to contact them via the form on the website the message could not be sent. I hope to hear back with a tracking number and also to receive my product, but I'm starting to doubt their legitimacy.

I applied for a line of credit through these guys, they declined me which is fine I get it, but they dropped it by 43 points... Google said it's only supped to be between 5 and 10 points per hard credit check so what the hell. It took me 8 years to bump it up 55 points and they wiped most of it out in two minutes... Smh it's just uncalled for and not even worth looking into if they're just going to decimate your credit score like that

Joe we're sorry you feel this way. The company that powers our financing card is Synchrony Bank which is solely responsible for the approval process. Abt is not involved in the approval process in any way. Abt has other financing options that one could apply for online or in person.

This company is a scam they change their name and address constantly ABT shop. They scam to my PayPal account and kept the money this company goes by several different names but most of them have ABT in them. They use other peoples phone numbers and business names. Every time I try to look them up to find my order the site has a different address. No one answers the bogus phone numbers and you can never finish filling out a customer service complaint. If you type in their email your phone will tell you no such email exists. I was foolish enough to trust this review site and lost $174.

Updated review - I've changed my review to 5 stars. I can't remember any seller on the Internet ever reaching out directly to correct a mistake and make it right. Abt's staff did exactly that, and immediately shipped out the item in question. I'm leaving the original review, but I will buy from Abt again and suggest you do as well. Their customer service is something only a local store would provide, definitely went above and beyond what I expected.

> OLD review - Listed a product for sale. Website said it was in stock. I confirmed via their live chat they had them in stock. Ordered product immediately. Order was placed in backordered status. Now they said they don't have it, never did have it. What a waste of time.

Fell short in the end

They started off selling me what I asked for, but there was no one actually experienced enough in their sales team to ask the right questions. Instead, I had to return and exchange multiple times until they were not happy with me, so I ended up returning all together and now I am going to an expert HiFi store that specializes in what I am looking for. Perhaps they have gotten so big that their quality of service as diminished and they only care about volume. Too bad. Never going back!

We purchased a pricey Frigidaire refrigerator--with extended warranty-- from Abt in January 2021. Within months, there were multiple issues with the unit: the refrigerator is functioning as a freezer--all refrigerated food is frozen (we've thrown away literally thousands of dollars of food to date); non-working icemaker; loud motor noise. Technicians have come out multiple times to take a look but never have the right part on hand to fix the issue of the day or they ordered the wrong part and need to go back to the drawing board. Of course, it doesn't take days to get the right part--it takes MONTHS. Delays, delays, delays with "fixing" any of these issues. We communicated the first issues in December (even though they emerged prior to then), and it is nearly the end of May--still no fix. At this point, we have requested that they replace the unit because it is clearly unfixable. It is a LEMON. But oh no! There is a strict process with Frigidaire where the fixes need to be attempted first and THEY decide whether they'll swap it out or not. So, sorry folks, even though Abt is the largest single-store appliance retailer in the US ($12B in revenue, so presumably they are one of Frigidaire's largest retailers with a hell of a lot of clout), they simply can't do anything to help us. Their hands are tied. Which, of course, is BS. If they were a reputable company that stood by its products, they would do the right thing... remove this POS from our house, donate it to charity, and replace the unit asap. So, buyer beware: Do not purchase anything manufactured by Frigidaire. Ask questions before you purchase from Abt: What will they do to stand by their products? If you do buy from them, purchase the extended warranty and hold their feet to the fire. And then, because of course they won't do anything to help you, call your state's Consumer Protection Bureau and report them, which is exactly what I'm going to do next.

Their prices are competitive, and if you don't like them, even on their chat you can reach out and see if there are any coupons or discounts. They'll connect you with help and both times I've used this it was super fast.
