I was struggling with academic anxiety and the counselor I talked to was really patient and understanding. She reassured me that I don't have to be perfect and that it's ok to make mistakes. She was really nice and I felt less anxious after our chat. I am grateful to have found this website. It's really useful.
This site has one purpose, and one purpose only: to manipulate you into thinking you need to pay for therapy and a membership. It's about money, and that's it. It's very clear, at least after some time.
Excellent platform for relieving stress. Gives the authority to access it anywhere, anytime. Has variety of options for calming yourself.
Overall it is a toxic and uncaring unsupportive site. They do not care about what you are going through and make it seem like it is all Petty. I was a member for 3 years and it got to the point that it was harassment and bullying even from the administrators. I was a community mentor leader too on my listener and they just abused us to the point that it was unbearable and made us sign non disclosure agreements.
I was a member for a while and I recently decided to become a listener. Its absolutely amazing! I have had my faults with people but It is in no way the companies fault.
When I was in hard time it help through it
I recommend it for every one that needs help as it will help you or at least know how to help yourseld
7 cups is an amazing website for people who struggle with mental health issues. It provides many resources to people and is completely free.
I've made a lot of good friends on 7 Cups. My listeners care. I have found other people that struggle sometimes and I feel a lot less alone. Highly recommended!
On June 16th, I signed up for a monthly therapy subscription with this organization for $150. I was matched with a therapist who was extremely unresponsive. She said she will check her messages twice a day. When she did come online, she responded back in one sentence and disappeared for hours. The therapist suggested we set up a time to chat for 30 mins and I took off from work to be able to do that. She never showed up online. On June 19th (three days later) I contacted the customer service department to cancel my subscription and request a refund due to the unresponsive nature of the therapist. I never heard back from the customer service department and I had to message them for ten days straight to finally get a response. The responded back saying that since I have used the therapist's time (2 mins?) I am only eligible for a partial refund of 50 dollars. How is that even ok? I signed up June 16th and spoke to the therapist twice for less than 30 seconds before she disappeared for long periods of time. So basically for using the therapist for 2 days with less than 2 exchanges back and forth, I have to pay 100 dollars? I complained to the Better Business Bureau and the billing coordinator got back to me and further reduced my refund to 25 dollars. This company is a mess! Never again!
This site is TERRIBLE in every possible way. I am absolutely disgusted with the way 7 Cups treats people, whether they are members or listeners. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GASLIGHTING INSANITY.
This is really an awesome program for seeking someone that you can simply talk to. It makes you feel safe and also opens the opportunity to meet new people who are going through the same stuff that you yourself are going to. As a listener, it's amazing how I've seen people develop through this website. They become better people and more socially active. Really an amazing concept for amazing people across the world.
The site is perfect if you wish to get a quick advice or a small talks; works well in the short-term. In the long-term it can be emotionally-draining.
Additionally, the concept behind 7 cups is noble, but somewhat poorly executed.
It just requires few modifications here and there to enhance the user's experience.
There's definitely a trial and error process to finding the listener that's the best fit for you, and the Noni bot for sure needs some work, but using 7Cups has been the best decision I've made for my mental health in awhile.
It is the best site to go if you are feeling somewhat low. You'll find great verified listeners (people you talk to) here, how really wants to help you.
You can also become a Listener and Help the Community at your own time.
7 cups has helped me so much and has helped so many other people. I am so glad that 7 cups is here for me whenever I need. All chats are confidential which I really like and there are many trainings that are offered which can help a listener grow and become more efficient in listening.
7 cups has been such a great resource for me to have and I am so glad for it. I hope that many more people begin to use this resource an recognize it for the amazing thing that it truly is.
I started as a listener (volunteer) and was in love with the site until I tried it from a client perspective and found there are extremely harmful and hateful people who are there strictly to hurt people who are already hurting. When this was brought up to management with suggestions on improving quality by implementing mandatory training to be completed prior to "helping" others, I was banned from the website. This is a common practice of the owner/paid staff as I read on Reddit. As well as tricking people into subscriptions by saying it is $x. Xx per month and taking the whole year up front and refusing refunds.
Obviously money motivated and not meant in any way to help others.
The listener I spoke to was warm and empathetic. I really... really needed this. I didn't think I'd actually be heard... but she listened to everything I had to say. I feel a little less trapped in a way.
Answer: It's a legit company! Definitely not a scam :) In my experience, I've been on as both a listener and member, it's not a scam. We're trained & take courses (as listeners) to best support members. Each listener is different, as is each member, so there may be bad experiences with one listener or vice versa. We have therapists we can ask for advice or refer people to as well.
Answer: I would suggest that any person seeking true authentic assistance NOT visit this site. It is unsafe, damaging and narcissistic and does NOT offer true help or support in any way
Answer: I would imagine that there are many other sites that are BETTER than 7cups
Answer: To send one-on-one messages, you should be able to just click on the text box and type in it. I find it's harder to use on mobile browser so if you're doing that, maybe try switching to desktop. Otherwise, I would just wait a minute or reload the page, it lags sometimes
Answer: You sure can! This is actually a very helpful feature on 7cups
