When I pay Birchbox does not have lock in address bar. Is site secure? Why doesn't Birchbox fix this?

I was super excited and looked forward to trying all kinds of products before committing to pay lots of money to wind up having to rerun stuff. I'm sure every girl goes through this... well, come to be that most products Birchbox samples can ONLY be bought through them and apparently "be made for birchbox". I'm disappointed with the product samples whats this all about?
