Here’s what consumers have asked with answers from Airbnb staff and previous consumers.
There is a number and they are based in irekand apparently. Not helpful when i called. The did call back... eventually four days later. Could not resolve the problem. Would never use airbnb again
Call your bank. They should be able to get it back. The good thing and you lucky to use your credit card, bank will take care of it. Call them and explain your situation. Remember that you are not responsible of any fraudulent transactions. I always call my bank everytime I have a problem with a merchant. And always use the credit card to place an order or purchase
They may charge fees right away, but the host does not get paid until the actual date of the stay. Read reviews carefully to avoid scams. To be safe just stay at a reputable hotel or established B&B.
I found through first hand experience that airbnb does not post negative reviews. I tried to post my personal experience and it was unable to do so. The reviews I saw for our stay in Paris were all false as well as the pictures posted for the rental! I contacted airbnb to no avail. Sad to say even after the pictures I took of the deplorable condition ( water damage, mold, dirty room... etc) the false ad was still up and running.
Do yourself a favor and just don't use Airbnb. You will be sorry eventually.
As per suggestions above, I would call Airbnb directly. A non-refundable deposit means no refunds: this is after the fact, but preliminary inquiry to the host with this question would have saved you a lot of trouble. Airbnb is not required to give you a refund if the deposit is nonrefundable. Look at it this way -- if you made bought a non-refundable plane ticket, the airline has no obligation to refund your ticket. They may offer you the opportunity to reschedule the flight with an extra fee, but you chose that option when you purchased the non-refundable fare when you could have purchased a REFUNDABLE fare. Similarly, you could have chosen another host/place to stay that was REFUNDABLE but did not. It would be to the host/Airbnb's best interest to refund part of your deposit but they are under no obligation. **When you contact them, offer to accept a portion of the deposit back instead of 100% and you might get an acceptance of the offer. As was said above, escalate the inquiry until you get a high enough supervisor that can help you resolve this.**
I would like to add that they have taken money from my account twice merely on my sending an inquiry to the host! And I cannot find out how to contact them to tell them so.
I just booked a place and was then notified that the listed price was incorrect because of an error in their system. Instead of $115 plus taxes / fees per night, the price is $275 plus extras a night. Big difference! I would not take any chances if I were you.
I have booked vill Ribander Goa, india, but the host has not handed over the possession of the room, the amount deducted from my account my brother has booked this from his profile. Airbnb said that he will investigate the matter, but near about 19 days have passed no reply from airbnb.
