Hi sorry for the late response. I'm sure you figured it out by now. Have booked and waiting for a confirmation? Or are you waiting for a booking inquiry response? Usually if it's a super host you will get a response with in a hour or less. I also respond within 5 min to 1 hr depending on the time. Some host never get back to you and do not up date there calendar. Always check to see when it's last updated. I always reach out to my guest. Though I have had some guest that answer me days later and are very aloof. Drives me crazy. Always call Airbnb if you have booked and have not heard back from the owner. I personally would cancel and find another place. They are sound flakey.

I am an AirBnB host and this sounds a bit fishy. Good hosts answer within 24 hours especially so near to arrival time. Definitely, put a stop through the credit card company. Also, speak with an AirBnB supervisor, regular reps can't decide anything. Google your local customer service number. Always check guest reviews before booking. I never accept
Guests without reviews and who do not have a profile I can check. If I have their name, I will check on FB, LinkedIn or Instagram. The website is problematic but I understood they were fixing it. AirBnB should do a better job of vetting hosts and guests before they go up on the site. Personally I have never had problems with guests or staying as a guest. Renee K

Contact Airbnb directly. If you cannot cancel the credit card transaction, they can step in. They stepped in on my behalf with a situation, and although I was not able to get full refund for a bad experience, I was offered some money off.

What Julio H. & Nicholas G. - Book yourself a place at a reputable hotel. You may pay more, but in life it seems you get what you pay for. AirBnb is amature hour.

The most important step; Contact your credit card company and stop transaction. Immediately seek new lodging. File a complaint with BBB, Learn a value lesson--Become Educated by Reading Reviews!

Airbnb users are not professionals. Dismiss your request and look for an hotel or a hostel right now.

If you have had no answer, I would steer clear and find somewhere else. In my experience, the hosts who respond quickly are usually on the ball. The rest, I would not bother with. Try somewhere else or go to Booking.com or one of the other sites, you will get something last minute on there.

Look again and see if there is somewhere listed that has the instant book option... and book that. If you sent a request the host is not obligated to accept you and you can retract your request. They have the freedom to choose, youre whatever reason. It may be that it's too short notice for them.

No answer meant no contact for some reasons. I would suggest the hotel, motel, inn whatever... or rent a trailer. Why use airbnb? Too many problems and troubles, I tried before, it not worth to deal with plus all your personal information released to strangers and risk to identification fraud. A big NO to airbnb for me. You want to save money, I would advise to stay home or going with hotels for absolute comfort and a peace of mind.
