I created a new account with them and schedule someone to come out within a week. I got a cancellation so waited until the reschedule date and got another cancellation. I emailed them about this with concerns that the grass will become overgrown. They told me they are sorry and want to ensure things are done correctly and gave me a discount on the mow. So I wait again the reschedule data. It rained for about 10 minutes, and other mowers were out that day but I got another cancellation. So I wait again for the reschedule and it has been several weeks at this point. I get another cancellation. I email them about this and they said they would talk to their "pro" and make sure the grass gets cut. They never mention my concerns about an overgrown grass at this point that stated clearly.

I get another notice on the reschedule date that the lawn pro is on site! Nope, I am working from home. No one is at my house all day. I then get a bill for a mow that just didn't happen. So I email them explaining everything to this point. They said once again they would fix everything and send someone out. My lawn is quite overgrown at this point being weeks after the initial attempt to get my hard mowed.

My next email from the company explained that my yard was overgrown and they wouldn't mow it without paying $122 from their "pros" quote. Ignoring this absurd situation, my yard was not worth $122 even being overgrown. This was a "go away" charge to get rid of me as a customer because their "pro" didn't want me. This wasn't even close to reasonable.

So they cancelled on me 4 times. Fraudulently charged me for a mow that never happened. Then they tried to get me to pay more money.

I am sure that some people have good experiences with this service because there are probably "pros" that do good jobs. But, if the company doesn't care who they are hiring as "pros" then you are entering a gambling game. My "pro" wasn't remotely communicative or professional. I was lied to at every point. They should pay attention to who they hire and work on being honest providers. I would stay away and just find someone local to trust.

Tip for consumers:
Stay away. Their app doesn't work correctly either. I could log onto the website fine but when I told them I couldn't log into the app they just kept resetting my password. They don't listen!

I have had nothing but trouble with LawnStarter since signing up. Getting people to even show up regularly is a hassle. Their agents will be assigned and cancel and just not show up. This of course will mean your grass doesn't get cut and you get charged with a long grass fee when their own people don't do the job.

You can also request other services with them. I requested a quote for fertilization that I should have gotten the first time my yard was mowed. I never got a quote. The next different person that showed up did give me a quote and I agreed to it then they disappeared from the system. So another new person from them messaged me about needing to send another quote. I never got the quote after waiting two days and the service was simply marked completed. I got charged $99 for an old quote and no work being done. I have spend at least an hour and a half on the phone explaining then to them. They tell me there are photos of the work and I requested they send them. The photos they have are of the laws being mowed, and have nothing to do with fertilization. So I have a charge for work that was never done and a charge for long grass that was their fault.

All these charges on my credit card and in 2 months I have only had my yard mowed twice. LS has no standards when it comes to picking their agents. They let people in and out of their system and will simply charge you without hesitation or reliability of service. You may very well get an excellent person that does great work but it is a complete gamble and the odds are likely not in your favor because LS has no standard. They clearly don't care who signs up for lawn service and no quality assurance process in place to make sure customer are taken care of. LS is a billing system only and does not care about service.

I have to get a new credit card now to stop them from charging me further. They are a horrible company that shouldn't be in business. I really recommend people to stay away!

I am attaching a photo of the "long grass" they charged for as well that was only that long because their own people kept cancelling and not coming out in the revolving door of people you will have to deal with.

Do not use the site! They will steal money.
