Marmite (http://www.marmite.co.uk) A peculiarly British obsession – do you love it or hate it? It's a good test for foreign spies – if they don't know what you are talking about, they can't have been living in the UK….

I really enjoy the community on Chow Hound. I have found them to be much more open and friendly to new-comers than other food sites which can be a little snobby.
Very informative book. My husbands grilling skills increased 100% after reading through this book. He says it's top notch for teaching techniques and the only downfall is that some of the recipes have ingredients that are not readily available (though they sound delicious!). Of course it has a huge selection of meat recipes but it also has a decent vegetarian and vegetable side section, which I appreciate. The author also included a chapter dedicated to drinks (soft and hard) and suggested food parings.
Kitchn is nicely presented with good pictures and a horizontal navigation bar at the top. They offer a lot of great articles, they claim "20 short articles daily". Along with Apartment Therapy, they are a member of the AT Media family of sites. As is standard for a quality website today, they offer connections with Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and email.
Useful articles and reviews of things such as nutcrackers, as in this article: http://foodal.com/kitchen/general-kitchenware/guides-general-kitchenware/foodals-guide-to-the-best-nutcrackers/
I can't say enough about how they went out of their way to help me. I had saved one of the vegan recipes on their site to my timeline for later. But I couldn't find it. When I went back to the site I couldn't find it either. I sent them a private message and asked for help. Not only did they get me a link to the recipes I was looking for, they also emailed it to me so I wouldn't lose it again. Not many people go above and beyond like that.
I found this site by looking at ancient recipes. As I began reading I became more and more interested in the really cool ways that food was prepared in past. The first recipe I reviewed sounded awful. It was Shellfish seaweed pudding. After reading the recipe, I don't think I would really want to ever try it. I did think that the next recipe was cool the way it was made. This is the Rock cooked shellfish. Because you use a hot flat rock and can make the shellfish right at the beach as you catch them. Then I was really intrigued by the Clay-baked fish. This is really something to think about. How do you cook a fish with clay?. The outcome actually sounded very good. I often wonder after the 2012 end of the world scare. If the lights where to go out all over the world who would be able to survive? This site gave me the thought that if things ever where that bad that maybe the strong could survive. I hope everyone takes a minute to visit the ancient recipes on this site. I think that this is very different and interesting.
Pretty nifty cooking site. The idea (apparently) is to break up the monotony of normal cooking instruction and make it a little more fun. "And I believe cooking should be fun. Not "fun" as in what you make should be quirky or brightly colored, I mean the process itself should be fun. " - Tyler (creator/owner/operator) of the site. This site is ad free, easy to navigate and appears to be fairly young with a bright future ahead of it. Want some great tasting chili and a laugh? Check it out! REASONS TO USE: [1] You like to cook [2] You like to eat [3] You like to laugh while doing both REASONS TO LOSE: [1] You don't like to cook, eat, or have fun.
childrensrecipes.com is a website that publishes recipes that parents can make with their children and introduce to them to the wonderful joy of cooking. The website has a very beautiful design and it also offers all the recipes in printable version. Most recipes are easy to follow and introduce children with the basic concepts of cooking. For example if you have bought your child an easy bake oven there is a whole section dedicated to the easy bake oven recipes where children can actually make things with the help of their parents.
I found in this site some useful recipes. Expecially the Lemon Meringue Pie! That's a great recipe!...
Not really a sandwich fan... but I have to have a Catfish Po'boy from these guys at least once a month... I usually make a mess every time, but its all part of the experience... get you some!
Such a cool site! You simply enter in the stuff you have laying around your fridge and then the website does a search and gives you recipes based upon what you have around! I can't believe I never heard of this before. Thanks to m d for starting a conversation on this website!
As a Brit in America one of the first things I discovered, food-wise, was that there's a very American English vocabulary when it comes to the noble sausage. For a start, where I come from a 'brat' is an irritating and possibly destructive child and a link is something in a watch strap or necklace. Here, a link is a sort of sausage and a brat is a sausage too, though individual brats aren't links. At least I think that's right, it's confusing. Anyway the term 'brat' is an abbreviation of the German 'bratwurst', which according to Wikipedia is derived from Old High German brätwurst, from brät-, which is finely chopped meat and -wurst, or sausage. However, again according to Wikipedia, bratwurst is "its own kind of food totally separate from sausage". None of this remotely bothers the Johnsonville company, renowned for their bratwurst, yet whose slogan is "Sausage is all we do". And my goodness, they do an awful lot of it. In the USA it is, I think, the leading brand of sausage, or brat, or whatever, and occupies pride of place in all the supermarket processed meat cabinets. And unlike most American sausages, you have to cook your brats yourself, on the grill or in water being the most common ways. The next most famous sausage brand offers a range of pre-cooked sausages including, believe it or not, a very passable attempt at a British Banger. Even if they do suggest you microwave it or boil it, which really is beyond the pale. I understand, though to be honest I never got around to wanting to know more, that the brat is also very much associated with the American hobby of tailgating, in itself associated with going to see a football game. Americans don't just park their cars in the car park and file into a stadium to watch a game, they park their cars several hours in advance, unpack their barbecues and portable coolers and their packs of brats and Bud and throw parties out of the backs of their SUVs. I've only been to one of these myself, and I must admit that it was an impressive affair. More so than the football game, the play and rules of which were a total mystery to me and remained so until the end, even after repeated attempts to explain it to me had failed miserably. To this day all I can tell you is that as far as I can see, it's a game for people who find cricket too exciting. But I digress. In addition to their range of brats, which offers fourteen different styles and flavors, Johnsonville also manufacture about another fifty or so different types of sausage which fall into the Italian, Breakfast and Smoked categories. Italian sausages have a distinct flavoring which is on the spicy side and can be mild or hot, smoked sausages include many styles which would be a mystery to the English market - wieners, franks, Polish, and bologna, and Breakfast sausages, well, the Americans have a style all of their own for these. And most popular, I think, are the ones which are flavored with brown sugar and honey, or maple syrup, to appeal to the much sweeter tastes of the American market, and the ones with added cheese, another very American taste. The site is a good representation of the product range and offers expansive descriptions and methods for each of the many different sausages on offer. Admittedly the cooking instructions might be deemed overkill (place in pan, cook; place in microwave, heat) but for people who find themselves faced with a pack of sausages that has lost its label, no doubt it's a great relief to be able to find this information online. There are also a considerable number of recipes, most of which are aimed at the family cook looking to produce substantial meals on a very low budget. Whilst these inevitably follow the formula "take any meat recipe, remove meat, substitute sausage", you could live very cheaply on them and that's really the selling point. Lastly but not least, I have to tell you that although naturally not a match for a properly made English sausage, the American Brat is really rather good. I don't know if these are available in England yet - maybe someone will tell me? - but should they ever reach those shores I think they'll soon occupy a permanent place on the supermarket shelves. Meanwhile if you want a taste of America, you could always substitute a decent banger in any of the recipes here and produce a mid-Atlantic treat. EDIT Forgot to mention, if you are in the USA you can also use the site to get coupons off Johnsonville products. And if you register for the Enthusiasts Club, you may "quite possibly receive random free stuff". Has to be worth it.
I've had a pampered chef hand food chopper for over 40 years and it's just like new. (I don't think they still sell it). I just received a garlic press and a citric press and they are both great. My other garlic presses didn't work at all. I've never had a citrus press but this one works much better than the old lemon juicers that I had.
Barbecue sandwich with slaw and onion rings plus a caramel fudge shake. Wife had a BLT and a soft drink. Everything A+. Hot, tasty, and very reasonable. Barbecue better than most barbecue places. Service was polite and helpful.
Jamie has a future in quisine! He has shown himself as a fine British chef on the internet is a restanter owner, a million and parents three remarkable children! What next for this smart blonde?! I thought they were all dumb!
This guy has no background in cooking or nutrition other than an on line course and acts like he is the Guru of Vegans. He hired two uneducated women to help him dispense advice on Facebook. He earns money by Google ad word clicks on his website. Use caution using this site and getting uneducated advice in his FB Group!
It's very easy to use, I'm a college student and I don't have a lot cooking experience. The recipes are really cool and easy to make. There are other sites like this, but this one is the easiest to use. Hope it helps you too!
I have cooked over a dozen recipes from this site and only 1 disappointment. I go to this site when ever I am looking for a recipe and have found most of what I am looking for. A very good recipe site.
Most of the people are very much curious about their home decoration. So for avoiding the curiosity it is better for the people to search for the sunset.com for clearing their doubts while building the home. This website is very much helpful for me to build an attractive garden in front of my home.
While the original developer was on board, Cheftap was not only a great app, but "customer service" aka the developer himself, was very responsive. In the meantime, the developer has long gone and girl friend seems to have inherited the app and the subscription income. Customer service is non-existent. App is supposed to be able to handle an unlimited number of recipes with subscription, but it does not. If you clip a maximum of 900 recipes, you'll probably be okay. Unfortunately there is little compatibility re export/import between this and the Paprika app, which I'm currently using.
Bridget and Julia lack Chris Kimball's easy humor. They seem nice enough, but their constant moaning, groaning and "mmmmm"ing over food is really off-putting. Infinitely prefer the food offerings on ATK to Milk St., But Chris has it all over the ATK hostesses.
The site never tells you the size of the pan but the tv add looks like it would be an average size. Then when you order, in one of the options it tells you you can up grade to a larger size for family and friends. At this point you have no way of getting out of the order, so apparently you are going to end up with a very small pan that will be of no use. I will never again order any Gotham item - maybe will buy in the store if this crisper truly lives up to the rest of the hype.
I often buy Lee Kam Kee products (sauces, dipping sauce, minced garlic, etc) and was excited to see that they have a site with recipes specifically for their products. However, I found the "Get Cooking" tab and recipe search feature disorganized and incomplete. I still like LKK products, but they can surely benefit from improving their website with more accurate and up-to-date content.
I ordered a juicer from this website that boast fast shipping. It has been 3 weeks and according to their tracking page, it has not even shipped yet. I can get no one on the phone (mailbox is full) and they do not return emails. They charged my credit card the first day and now I am out $240 with no hope of getting my juicer! Never order from them!
I was gifted a four burner glass top stove from Pigeon Stovekraft. It was purchased from amazon and the product has 2 years warranty. Just few months after use, the glass suddenly shattered while cooking and slowing kept cracking till it was completely broken. There was no accident from our end and I had written to customer service on 8th September 2021 mentioning the issue and asking for service. I received 1-2 calls for details and after that they stopped responding. I kept waiting for the product to be repaired and finally had to purchase a new stove for no fault of mine. It has been more than 2 months of frustration with numerous calls and emails and the broken stove is still lying without any service. There is no reply to any email or call after the initial communication and it has been a very disappointing experience.
Ordered a "worlds best pepper mill". Received a plastic dollar store type piece of junk. By the time you pay for shipping back to China and 25% restocking fee, you have no refund! Do not buy from this outfit!
If you can deal with spending $35 for software that has NO support, then you've got more bucks than we do. My email account got deleted by mistake... got the email back, but nothing in it, so i needed my registration key. So I got to use this software for all of one week before i could not use it again. Several weeks waiting and no reply from these irresponsible people. The reviews on their website are glowing... but others around the web underline the NO support factor.
