Zopa advised me I was preapproved for a £7500 consolidation loan inwasn't looking for a loan but it was offered and after some consideration thought, yes ok I'll go for it reduced some interest/payments and free up some cash.
They needed to confirm my income so I gave them access to my bank account, added payment details signed the forms etc. This was Saturday afternoon, by Sunday morning I recieved an email from them telling me they were unable to confirm my income?!?!?!? I get paid every month, the same as everyone else into the bank account I gave them access to. OK, fine I thought I'll upload a payslip...dated in the last 5 weeks and showing that I actually earn £1000 more per annum than I have added to the application. By the next morning...guess what...another email telling me they unable to confirm my income?!?!?! It's a pdf payslip in the format they asked for but apparently that was still insufficient.
I call them and speak to the most nonchalant and unaffected customer service representative who when I explain I am concerned my application may be declined because there seems to be an issue with the documentation I keep trying to upload. She goes off and approximately 3 minutes later comes back and tells me I should ignore the email.
Guess what?! Today I get an email from them telling me they have declined the application I submitted for the loan THEY OFFERED me!
I am raging! My borrowing power is 6, its a consolidation loan that they OFFER TO ME not that I applied for or was even considering and they have declined me based on my affordability and income? I now have a hard search on my file which I only agreed to because the loan was 'preapproved' and no loan! They did this to my Husband aswell!
If you are going to do this then at least change the wording 'preapproved dependant on circumstances' so at least consumers have the full facts before falling into a honey trap!
I have a credit card with them which I will be paying off as soon as possible and closing the account as I refuse to do business with a bunch of incompetent clowns such as zopa! Absolutely disgusting!
Absolutely useless, spent my only day off trying to get a car, sent 2 links for cars available only to be told they no longer work with these companies, when I finally found a car rang the dealership and they wanted an extra £500 admin fee, honestly don't waste your time just sideswipe this company and save yourself a day
I was a little sheepish of using an online savings and credit card but I was pleased and pleasantly surprised there savings account is paid monthly so after the first month you earn interest on your deposit and interest from the previous month.
Borrowing power update every 7 days pretty useful.
AVOID! One star is too generous. Trying to transfer money into another account due to financial situation. I provided the necessary document to verify the bank account and received confirmation this was done. Transferred the money and closed my account only to receive an email saying the funds are being returned (to a now closed account) as the account they had verified had not actually been verified. I've no idea where my money is.
HORRIBLE! My card stopped working due to missing payment after falling ill for a few weeks and not earning as much. Yet I was sent a message and it said if I made the minimum amount, the action would be stopped (min amount due on 16 February 2023) and paid it on 27 Jan. Card says it is accessible and unblocked on the app but still not able to use it. Contacted over the phone and was told because of missed payments I can't use it. I explained I paid the requested amount (on 27 Jan) when I received the message to stop the card from working and way in advance of the minimum payment due date (16 Feb). Yet they were giving like "oh well" answers. Very unhelpful. Avoid!
Took out car finance through Zopa and it has been a week since I first applied and the dealer is still waiting for the funds. They keep saying that the dealer provided them with the wrong account details, which the Dealer did resolve on Monday. It's Wednesday and they're still saying that they've got the wrong details and are "trying" to fix it. Today's excuse was that the Supervisor was in meetings the whole afternoon and wouldn't have time to look at the problem today. Is that my issue or his? The car is ready and waiting but they cannot pull the finger out of their back side and resolve their own issue.
Awful experience with this business Zopa Bank Peer to Peer investments. I and 90,000 others trusted them and invested our money. With no notice this morning told that P2P Investment ends today. The contracted future interest we would have earned is to be taken by Zopa. With no compensation for the loss. Zopa built their company on our money became a regulated bank on our money, then 1 year later close our accounts and take our interest. Disgusted, they profit off the ordinary people then dump them after using them. I attached the notice they sent.
Invest in their other products AT YOUR OWN RISK, your investment could be closed without notice just as they did to me and approx 90,000 other people.
I have never heard of this company before I got mail from them.
They got my details somehow through equifax, so zopa claim.
I didnt like this. I dont like this. I never asked to be contacted by them.
In my eyes not good. I recognise they are a business and they want to get customers, but do it some other way.
