ZoomInfo

Overview

The company has garnered mixed feedback, with notable strengths in the comprehensiveness and accuracy of its database, which many users find valuable for prospecting and generating sales leads. However, significant concerns arise regarding customer service, characterized by slow response times, lack of support, and issues with contract transparency, including automatic renewals. Customers frequently report frustrations with outdated or incorrect data, leading to wasted time and resources. Overall, while the platform offers useful tools, the negative experiences related to customer service and data accuracy detract from its reputation, indicating a need for improvement in these areas.

False data
November 19, 2021

This site lists a company I owned, but dissolved in 2015 when I retired. It shows my former address, phone number, and web site, but false information about that company's business, number of employees, company representative. It appears they have mixed together information from several companies with similar names.

Bad Mouth Competition
August 19, 2020

Recently talked to one of their sales reps (closer). I felt like I was dealing with a car salesman or timeshare closer 25 years ago. He bad mouthed their competition and tried to get me to commit to 15 k on the spot. Historically companies with this old style sales approach are trying to cover up flawed products or services. The salesman was probably a proud graduate of Trump University.

Everybody gets the idea of how Zoominfo publishes inaccurate, and potentially damaging info. My point is writing this blurb is to get folks to focus on their parent organization: Discover.org.

Discover.org is a more reputable, much larger institution which many companies use for business contact purposes. Stop using/complain to Discover.org and they will exert force necessary to get Zoominfo to make good on their false assertions that they will correct or delete false info.

They have listed my personal cellphone associated with my business. It's causing me to receive lots of spam calls and text messages daily. Company is completely unresponsive. I have reached out to support at least 10 times and no one gets back to me.

This is a bunch of low lives. They spidered our site and made up fake info about us. It's just a fraud masquerading as a legit business. We tried contacting them to no avail. Please DO NOT sign up and give your data to them. If it is correct data, you're helping their scheme. Or if you do sign up, consider writing false data. Feed them their own medicine.

Latest update on Zoominfo
September 27, 2021
Updated review

I just heard from my attorney on the final offer from Zoom info. It took the collector more than a week to go back and forth with Zoominfo and they came back with a settlement amount of $6,200 as long as I can get it to them by Wednesday. This is Monday so I have to use my payroll and rent to pay them off. I will be very happy if I can keep anyone from going through this with this company. Do your research and use someone else.

Update on my experience with Zoominfo
September 23, 2021
Previous review

Since my last review I have hired an attorney to try and settle my account with Zoominfo. They will not just cancel the contract so they sent a collection agency after me. I have not used the system after the first three months for which I paid over $4,000. They do not discuss that you cannot cancel the program if you are not satisfied and they do not tell you about needing 60 days' notice if you are not going to renew. If you miss the 60 day window, they auto-renew you and you cannot get out of it. Through my attorney, we made a reasonable offer to settle since I've already paid a quarter of the contract and I haven't used my credits 7 months, but they rejected it. They don't care about being in a pandemic and I would have to borrow money to pay this off. Look at their competitors that are less expensive and may offer a month-to-month service rather than being locked in for a full year with no way out. They are very deceptive.

Stay away and don't sign.

Previous review

My new salesperson wanted this service. It was expensive but I figured the money it would generate would pay for it. I used it for one quarter but it was not generating enough business and during the pandemic, I just could not afford it. I stopped using it and told customer service I needed to cancel it. They said it could not be cancelled so I owed $12,000 whether I was using the service or not. I had to pay or be turned over to collection, so in 2 days I will start getting collection calls and my credit will most likely be ruined. Do not use them.

This website has my name/position and company contact info listed under a completely different company, and I get multiple sales calls every day that have absolutely nothing to do with my duties or even the products that my company actually sells. I didn't create a profile under another company name with my own info, so where did THAT come from!?! There is no way to get in touch with them and have this info removed. Absolute scam of a site.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Unethical and incompetent team who do not honour requests to remove data. They publish inaccurate data and personal information such as personal phone numbers and email addresses and ignore requests for removal. The staff I have spoken to have promised me on two seperate occasions they would remove my information. They havent and its been 2 weeks. They continuously have tried to sign me up to their service. Take your business elsewhere. The information they publish on their websites is dated, incorrect, unethical or puts people at risk.

Easy learning curve, feature-packed service
June 2, 2023

ZoomInfo SalesOS is helping us find contacts in our industry that we can use to prospect. It is much more efficient at scale than LinkedIn or trade magazines. I like how intuitive the interface is, how easy it was to learn and pull lists. The account team has been very helpful in teaching new insights and ways to truly leverage the platform features.

A must for Sales and Marketing teams
June 2, 2023

Very user-friendly interface and probably the most accurate contact data on the market. I have been in sales for over 20 years. I find that having access to cell phone numbers and (mostly) accurate email address on ZoomInfo provides better access to buyers/decision makers.

Finding the right number
May 31, 2023

I am trying to reach out to industry experts in certain industry to connect them with institutional investors conducting their primary research before making an initial investment. I can trust that the phone numbers provided by the ZoomInfo platform are accurate. So when I am trying to cold call individuals I am able to reach the correct person without getting a phone number that is inactive.

Business Intelligence at your finger tips!
June 23, 2023

ZoomInfo allows my sales team to identify ideal customers when they are ready to make a decision. They can generate a pipeline with urgency while confidently targeting our customized buying committee. ZoomInfo addresses the challenge of Buyer Intent and urgency. Using the various intelligence tools available, we can email prospects showing intent and dial only those that have raised their hands. This helps eliminate wasteful manhours manually dialing on prospects that are still researching and not ready to make a decision.

I got a license to the ZoomInfo SalesOS software a few months ago because my company brought them to help us be more efficient in our sales process. Since I was onboard, Im using it on a daily bases, with endless information about every company we are targeting. It helps me find out with who in the company I should contact and what are the best ways to do that. I spend my time on selling and talking with customers and not searching online and cold calling.

We explained we were a small business looking for local businesses to prospect. We were told that they had information on every website and so it didn't matter that we were just starting - we would be able to find our ideal client in their database - because it is so vast.

Not true - at all. I've given them example after example of prospects that I am unable to find in their system, yet, they are on the internet and have been there for several years. Obviously, the "crawlers" aren't as advertised.

They have an excuse every time. They have one of my friends' site - who has been a company for over a decade as a photography studio - when they have never been a photography studio.

Narrowing down my list takes HOURS. Getting help takes DAYS - unless you want to sign up for a webinar that doesn't really answer your question - but just gives you general information about how to work the software.

If I was not a small business - and had a sales team and was targeting larger companies - this would probably work better.

I was completely honest with them regarding my needs. And have spent 2 months trying to get the information I need to help me grow my new business.

This is NOT the company to help me. And now I'm stuck paying over $18,000 a year for 2 years for something that is completely inappropriate for my business.

Poor Customer Service
February 28, 2023

Our company signed up. Poor reporting capabilities. They show graphs, but if you need reporting to pull for other functions, you have to manually grab the info.

Poor Customer service. When you try to reach out for support it might take weeks if not months before they get back to you. You have to become the squeaky wheel to get any attention.

The site makes it difficult to get your users to sign up for it. Had issues where users signed in and it creates a user without it being tied to our company which then requires tech support, and initially all they do is send you a preformatted message and never get back to you until you complain so many times.

Licenses are expensive. I don't understand how large companies, let alone small companies, can afford this product.

Huge data pool
June 2, 2023

Zoominfo is able to provide me with information about my prospects such as their title, job history, email, phone number and much more. This makes my job much easier. The amount of data and the general accuracy of everything you find is quite astonishing. On top of that, it is able to integrate almost seamlessly with other Sales tools such as Sales Navigator and Salesforce.

In addition, its accuracy score provides peace of mind that the contact information is accurate and up-to-date - something no other site can do! All in all, ZoomInfo SalesOS checks all the boxes when it comes to finding relevant details from potential sources - certainly one of the best tools out there today.

I noticed that for some very odd reasons they had posted crap about my personal business which is entirely untrue. They make up stuff as they go. Be careful, and if you have a website, they will grab the name and create a fake profile for their database and add some B/S information about it. You may ask why someone would even spend time doing that?
The answer is more data you have on your database, more people will think you have what they need, and they pay for it.
This company should be taken to court and abolished
I called them a while back and recorded the conversation, and the girl on the other end said they have a policy of not removing the information. Even if it is wrong.
WTF!

This company is VERY unscrupulous in their business practices. I tried to cancel after 1 year of the service and they trapped me into another year. This was before my 2nd term even started. They are just not good people and I'm surprised that they treat their clients the way they do. They will be very nice and accommodating when you first sign up and then they gouge you.
