Jessica is awesome. I have been trying to rewrite my resume by looking at online examples and tips - just did not have the patience for it. Had my resume and cover letter both back and completed in 4 days including a revision. I feel a lot more confident applying for jobs now. Thank you for the great work... I will be referring some colleagues.
My writer, Derek, took my mediocre resume and brought it to life with critical key words and excellent stated experience and competencies surely to draw attention. It's only been a few days so we will see how it works out. Thank you sir!
I payed on Sunday for new resume to be written as well as thank you letter and cover letter. I have not heard anything from Zipjob. I was told I would be introduced to my writer and have a rough draft today. I haven't heard anything. Sent email to support and no response. I'm going to call tomorrow on lunch but if I don't get an answer tomorrow I'm contacting my bank to dispute it.
This was much easier than I anticipated. My writer welcomed feedback, made requested changes and delivered a final product that I am very pleased with. It is worth it! I happen to be an HR Pro who has been writing and reading resumes for many years. Sometimes you need a fresh set of eyes and I am very pleased with the outcome.
The products that ZipJob provides are second to none. The writer contacting you is a whole other story. I never once received any follow up or feedback from my writer, I always had to call the customer service phone line to see what the progress of my order was. Going forward ZipJob needs to provide service after the sale and keep your customers posted on the status of the package that they purchased.
A writer was assigned to me, to review & revise my resume, and write a CV and LinkedIn profile. I first was prompted to complete a brief questionnaire where I listed out accomplishments and basic work history. I was hoping that the resume would be crafted taking into equal consideration the existing resume draft, the questionnaire, and conversation with me. What I found, though, was that the resume and CV were pumped out at breakneck speed, with little thought given to content. In order to meet their "3-day guarantee", my writer spit out a version of my resume that was hardly different than the one I submitted in the first place.
After a quick round of reviews, I submitted the resume back with notes and revisions. Rather than read, comprehend, and critically think about the notes and questions I had written in the margins, they were simply added to the resume as bullet points, creating nonsensical run-on sentences and totally out of place items. After pointing that out, I got the standard "thanks for your feedback, we'll be back to you shortly" (paraphrasing) email, after which little to nothing was changed with the subsequent draft.
Overall, I got a decent resume, and they wrote a CV & LinkedIn profile that I otherwise would've neglected or written poorly. But the experiences left a lot to be desired. Definitely not remotely worth the price for what you receive.
Hi Josh,
We appreciate your candid feedback and will have a member of our support team contact you directly to get this resolved as quickly and equitably as possible.
We look forward to helping resolve this issue.
Two months after finally deciding to submit my resume to ZipJob, I'm happily working at my new company. I would recommend this service to anyone who is job hunting. Having an objective and knowledgeable person review your resume is so helpful, no matter where you're at in your career or job hunting!
I signed up for ZipJob because of the unlimited revisions that you're allowed. I was paired up with a writer within 24 hours and he immediately asked if I had an existing resume to work off of. I uploaded it and told him what I wanted to add and change. He sent me the first draft with a very short turn around time and we exchanged messages on tweaking and fine-tuning for the next few days. The whole process took less than a week. His writing and phrasing of my job experience and skills were excellent and the resume looks 100% better than my old one. I'm happy I used ZipJob and I would recommend the service to ANYONE looking to tweak/update/or start a brand new resume.
5 stars for Zipjob!
Satisfied with both the resume and cover letter. Took a bit longer than I expected but overall happy with the service provided. I feel the resume is a step up from what I had so I hope this lands me more interviews... I need it!
The investment for a new resume was comparable to others. The process was timely, the resume is a good product and my views increased a little on LinkedIn, but navigating through this job market and how to best edit the new resume per job is where I need more coaching. That's not available.
Hi Eric, we're happy to hear that you're satisfied with your recent experience with ZipJob, and we hear your concerns. Thank you for your feedback as we will use it to make improvements.
The staff writer that I was assigned to was very patient and accommodating to my specific needs. My resume had no central theme of the types of employment I held however, with restructuring and highlighting my transferable skills, we were able to create a resume and cover letter that I was very much pleased with.
I was a little skeptical about using the service, but i must say my expectations were met.
The outcome of resume was spot on! The service was done in time and with open communications between myself and the writer.
It was a wonderful experience. All the edits and reviews were sent to me promptly and quickly. I felt the professional writer assigned to me really captured my skillset and experience in a clear and concise way.
I had what I thought was a good resume. Very structured and detail oriented. Unfortunately, I just wasn't getting much action. The gentleman I worked with at ZipJob took my existing resume and basically re-wrote it. He neither added anything or took anything away and yet it looked like a totally new resume. He explained that my resume was impressive and made perfect sense to someone who worked in cybersecurity. However, it looked like a bunch of gobblygook to the average HR type. With the new resume, I started getting calls and requests for interviews within the first couple of days. Companies that had ignored my handmade resume were seeking me out.
Pros:
- They were responsive.
- They delivered the first round within a few days.
- I did acquire a tip or two from my phone conversations with the writer.
Cons:
- I bought their most expensive package and regret it. I'm pretty sure I could have gotten the same results from a lower-cost package. The writing is good but not great and I've had to correct/modify a fair amount of it myself.
- This could be my fault for not reading fine print, but I thought the pitch for quick results would have been based on the customer's timeline, not ZipJob's timeline. They sent my first drafts to me during a week in which I was on vacation and could not respond with edits and then closed my job out when I didn't respond in a week.
I believe it's a good investment to get professional help for resume writing, but would look elsewhere next time. Nothing special here.
Patricia, thank you for sharing your thoughts. Our goal is always 100% customer satisfaction with our product and we are sorry that we fell short of your expectations, but we appreciate your feedback as we constantly look to make improvements.
Terrible company, took 4 days to get a customer service response and only after I called after my 3rd email was ignored.
Resume felt like it was written by someone who's English as their second language. I asked for concise and got 2 huge text blocks that "summarized" my experience. The lack of attention paid to visual design and allowing recruiters to scan for important information made me realize how much effort I would have to put in to fix the resume. At that point, what are you paying for? Not quality, not time... so you're paying for someone to type... that's it.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
We are so sorry this process has not been in line with your expectations and want to make this right for you. Unfortunately, we cannot see your contact information via this online review. Please send us an email at support@zipojb.com, using the email address associated with your project. We look forward to hearing from you.
The service was prompt and professional, from the initial contact to the subsequent correspondence to the phone call consultation that I added on, everything was done timely and professionally. Kevin, whom I worked with, provided an easy, readable format for my resume, and streamlined it for better ATS search. Kevin answered all the questions I had and was very patient. He also provided a great cover letter and helped me improve my LinkedIn profile. I am hoping to find my next dream job very soon!
I purchased the $189 package with a $75 two day turn around on 3/3. On 3/7 I got an email that my Resume was just assigned to someone. I informed them that if this is just getting assigned, I would like a refund. No reply. I just got an email now on 3/8 stating that they just reassigned it to someone else. So, no reply to my email, no acknowledgement of my request, but time to pass around my order/resume like a "hot potato", got it. I do not recommend ZipJob, many other qualified and quality resume writing sites out there.
You are better off (and save money) by just using a word formatted Resume. I paid for a professional re-write of my resume, what I received was a stripped down, one page, same bullet points I provided resume. There was no 'Professional Profile' no job descriptive paragraph for each position and no accomplishment bullet points (action verb, task, quantifiable result) When I questioned the writer, they stated it was 'based on industry standards'. I asked what standard they are referring to? The reply I received was 'if you are not happy you can request a new witter'. This company misleads consumers to believe they are providing a 'service' which in fact it is a total scam! I demand a total refund and will never use the 'resume' they provide.
Signup and payment were easy enough, but this service promised a "perfect resume". What I received was basically the same resume with some intentional grammatical errors and amateurish formatting. When I asked questions of the writer, I received copy-paste responses. I do not plan on using the resume or the LinkedIn profile they created, so it was a complete waste of money.
Answer: Hi Phil, Thank you for your service! As an Army Mom, I very much appreciate your commitment and service. My younger son did two tours in Afghanistan in three years with the Army. My older son continues to serve as an Army Reservist with deployments under his belt. Please keep in mind the VA has services available to assist with transition out. Also look at what your state has to offer for Veterans. You did not mention your work/professional vocation in your post. My advise, based on recent experience, is do not go with or trust Zipjob.
Answer: That's the same situation I was in. Just give them everything and let them figure out what to leave out, or combine, or highlight. My writer knew just what to do.
Hi Stacey - we definitely want to assist you with this so we can ensure you receive the products and services you paid for. We will reach out to you directly to seek resolution.
