I've been waiting 2 months now for my order. They placed the shipping information within a few days of ordering to make it seem like they shipped it, but I've been waiting so long now and nothing has arrived. Even the tracking number I received from them shows that it never left the facility. I contacted customer service and they claimed they "shipped it", but when I went to the post office, they said the package is still in the original location. At this point, they straight up stole my money and then lied about it. Do not order from here.
I purchased 12 skeins and six hours later price dropped 50%. Reached out for a partial rebate and was jacked around for TWO days… then offered 'free shipping' on my 'next' order. These people ignored a request for a $43 rebate. And treated me like a panhandler. Never again. Disrespectful and disgusting.
I love this company and buy a lot of my yarn here. They have great prices and a wonderful selection of yarns from all over the world. Delivery has always been prompt and I haven't had an issue with items on back orders or anything else. Their response to my questions are fast and I'm very happy with this site.
Made sure I ordered before the cut off date... then called to be sure the order would make it in time. It did not. So don't order from here. They were no help... just I'm so sorry... but we can't do anything for you.
I was a loyal customer but will now go elsewhere. The customer assistance is nonexistent. They fail yo send your order and then when you attempt to follow up after repeated emails finally acknowledge they are out of stock….while holding your money for weeks. No one responds to emails and no attempt to rectify the situation. Go to a yarn store who appreciates your business….Webs no longer cares
The kit does not come with enough yarn to complete the project. I was not able to knit the required rounds. Called Webs and the customer care person said it was my fault because, I should have used a smaller needle. She was very sarcastic. I will not purchase anything from this store. Beware.
Don't order from here unless you're just looking to feed the stash. I got an email 5 days after my order that it "shipped" but the tracking code didn't show it as received by UPS until 8 days after it was ordered. It has been two weeks and it still has not arrived. They make a big deal on the website that there is no free shipping because their prices are so much better than other sites with free shipping. Nope. I replied about my order to customer service to understand the slow processing time, no response. Sure, they probably don't have the operations of Amazon, but ebay and etsy sellers process orders every day, way faster than yarn.com. I was delighted to find some Cascade and Cloudborn yarns that I've used before and have worked with for past projects, but I will give up on those yarns if yarn.com is the only place where they can be found.
A few years ago I ordered yarn and some of it never came. After seeing their ad in Vogue Knitting I thought I would try again. Although their website says they have the yarn in stock I am still sent emails that the yarn is on backorder only to not ever receive it. They are not suppose to charge your CC before shipping... now they are charging me for yarns I never received. They do not put much effort into being an online retailer for out of town customers.
I ordered yarn from here (I've purchased from their festival booths over the years and didn't think it would be an issue) and the color I received was not accurate to the photo. The return/exchange policy is a joke. I had to pay return shipping to their warehouse and then pay the shipping back to me again. Customer service wasn't even remotely apologetic. I would understand if this were an independent Etsy seller (although I've NEVER had a similar problem with them) but yarn.com claims/seems to be a fairly large retailer. I won't be buying from this store ever again.
I attempted to purchase a spinning wheel but the woman who was employed by the store was more concerned about where my mask was positioned on my face. Instead of asking if I needed assistance, she barked at me and told me that my mask needed to be higher. After traveling 800 miles to purchase the spinning wheel, I am completely disgusted, and left without purchasing anything.
I am soooo disappointed in Webs return policy. I placed a duplicate order by mistake back to back dates. ALL of my knitting is donated to 3 Non-profit organizations! I called Webs not wanting to have to return the second order and to use a 10% discount code that I have in my cart and explained my free donations…. Absolutely NOT! They have no way of giving me a $5 discount on two $50 orders! I was stunned! After retiring from owning three large retail stores, you find a way to keep a repeat customer happy with $5. That $5 now has me upset with this company and not doing any further business with them and telling the 40 people I knit with my story… I'm a very respected part of the two communities I live in and those 40 people tell 40 more people and those 40 can tell 40 more…. It's just not good business…..
I wished I looked at this site before ordering. My experience with customer service was poor. I ordered 2 kits. One for me and another for a friend. It was for 2 balls of yarn and a booklet. It was overpriced and not what I wanted. I called and wrote several emails. I received answers from each. I wanted a return label at first. I was told I had to pay return shipping. We decided to make the kits. They were much smaller than photographs on their site. Basically told not their problem.
I visited the retail store just before Thanksgiving, and bought yarn (of course). Last week I decided I wanted more of one of the types I bought, and I received it in 3 days! The retail store is fabulous, and this speedy delivery was way beyond my expectations! Thanks to Webs!
Disgusting service! They send the order for a long time, they communicate rudely in the chat.
They pretend to send the order just by getting a USPS tracking number. In this case, the status of pre-shipment hangs there for an unknown amount of time. And in the chat they lie that they sent the order. Do you think your customers are unable to notice this?
I regret that I decided to place an order with them.
WEBS showed stock for the yarn I wanted. They waited a week to email saying they were out of stock. So we subbed another item that seemed to have adequate stock- still waiting for a ship date. Too bad that I don't seem to see another Valley Yarns distributor. I buy yarn from many stores and have not had trouble with WEBS in the past.
In fairness, WEBS seems to be trying to move stock from a warehouse to their showroom. Perhaps this will all straighten itself out over time. Could be low staffing due to temporary people-power shortage or even poor planning.
I am a guy, I own a Louet Spring loom, 12 shaft and a Louet Megado Dobby loom, 32 shaft. I am self-taught mostly. I can do almost anything with yarn- crochet, knit, quilt, cross stitch, spin and weave.
Took over a month to ship out my items, and then sold me an out of stock item. To make things worse, they triple charged me for shipping without offering any information, and then canceled the out of stock item and ignored my emails requesting a refund.
It takes long to ship purchases. They make mistakes like over charging, then make you pay to return the order. Customer service is horrible and non helpful. They just say Oops and oh well!
I totally love WEBs! They've got a TON of insane deals on very good yarn brands like rowan, debbie bliss, cascade, etc. They've got a TON of choices in general. Their closeout deals are crazy good and I had to ban myself from knitting just so I wouldn't keep buying insane amounts of yarn. They've only made a mistake on one ball of yarn in the several times I've ordered which I kept because I didn't feel like sending back and exchanging (though they offered). Their shipping to me is extremely fast, but I'm one state over ;). I learned some time ago about their warehouse location which I plan to visit, some day...
I have knitting to do, it's been a week and package hasn't even arrived to UPS yet. OK, so good prices, but it takes a looooong time to get your yarn.
Can hardly resist the impulse to buy balls and balls of yarn from this online retailer. I crochet and weave on a small weaving frame and this is my go-to for craft yarn.
Answer: A friend told me their online deals were good and the shipping "fast."
