Weather Underground should make one more change to their web site. In big red letters ad a link to accuweather.com.
Really folks, these people had something fine and trashed it in the name of improvement. Weather underground should get a clue.
I can't add much to the litany of one-star reviews that have been posted in the past couple of weeks, since the redesign removed lots of information I consider vital, and made other info, that used to be on a single screen, accessible only after clicking on different tabs.
BUT what I can tell you is I found a partial replacement. It's not as good, imho, as the old Wunderground, and if anyone can suggest something better I'd love to hear it, but for the time being I'm using the intellicast website instead: http://www.intellicast.com/Local/Weather.aspx?location=USPA1609
You no longer post info about invests. I have lost confidence in weather underground. It used to be my go-to site and I still like it for the models, but there's no mention of these important pre-storms.
I agree with all the recent reviews. Used to be my go-to site for weather; now looking for something else -- could at least have left an option for 'classic view'.
I've been using this site for years. The look and layout of the site has changed a few times over the years, sometimes for the better, sometimes worse. This latest change has just utterly ruined the site. Now you have to click to get to the ten day forecast and half the time it doesn't even load. I don't know if it was their intention, but the weather company has driven this site into the dirt.
Unfortunate when websites get updated and its complete $#*!. I'm sure it wasn't cheap either. Weather underground go back to the way it was!
Something changed on the site recently and caused it to be unstable. It's now useless. The page only partially loads and keeps flickering.
Was the best. Has become useless. I will erase the site from all my bookmarks. I do not understand what happened, Change of corporate owner?
Hate this new site, years ago WU had a great site, they changed to the worst, but at least they left WU classic, after a few years they dropped that and I went over to intellecast for their discriptive one page 10 day forecast... now WU has managed to screw that up now.
Their site takes forever to load, many times completely loading without the forecast. I Saw on national weather service site that we are in a high wind warning tomorrow, nothing mentioned on WU. Is this the way it will be during tornado season? Dangerous
Is it Weather Undergrounds mission to take over and screw up all weather sites?
Wunderground used to be my go-to site. Redesign sucks, and as others have said, is very inconvenient to not be able to see my weather at one glance and have to change settings every time.
The Phrase "IF IT's NOT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT" applies here 110%...
The Management who OKd This Redesign of wundground is OUT OF TOUCH with average "People Who Use it Daily" they should be fired.
How can you Take something that was working GREAT, That was the TOP Designed Weather Site, and "FIX IT"? Make it Worse?
Whomever re-designed wunderground should be ashamed of themselves, Period.
The much-hyped "Redesign" is a NIGHTMARE! I have to click on three different things now to view what I used to see in ONE glance! Weather Underground's site has become as useless as The Weather Channel's!
If ANYONE from Weather Underground reads this: PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!
The current temperature doesn't even show up for any place I choose. As others have reported, it is extremely annoying that you can no longer see that, the forecast for the next few days, and an hourly rundown for one of those days, in chart or graph form, ON THE SAME PAGE. That was what made WU so much better than the Weather Channel. And now the tabs that switch to the other views don't even WORK most of the time.
I have no idea why a worthwhile site was changed to worthless...
Defies logical analysis... one should be able at a glance to see at least the next seven day forecast with easily available regional and local weather. Also,
Local radar should be just a simple procedure away... and who knows how
Severe weather is displayed and mapped. This site is no longer user friendly
And is little more than a distraction...
This site is now useless, doesn't give current conditions, need to check two sites for longer term forecast, slow to load, junk. And I've looked for other sites and they are even worse. Someone could make serious money by giving us folks what we want
Latest updates to this site are hideous. Cosmetic/aesthetic changes can be annoying, but these people have simply destroyed the functionality of their site. Ask it for weather from a specific location and you'll get results for somewhere else. Ask it for information from an "official" weather reporting point and you're likely to get data from someone's backyard $100 weather station. Ask it for official National Weather Service forecasts and you'll get a wildly inaccurate forecast their computer dreamed up. People have been complaining about this for weeks, yet their only acknowledgment of changes revolves around updates made in April. Emails to them have gone unanswered. As a paying member for over 15 years they are more than disappointing. They've lost me as a paying member.
UPDATE: As of October Weather Underground has completely removed NWS data from their site. No more forecasts, no graphs, nothing. The option for NWS or WU "Best Forecast" has even been removed from the user settings. The initial front page only gives you today's and tomorrow's weather (using the strangest selection of locations that are usually not related to anything approaching "official") with the 10-day forecast being vague and unusable.
From all appearance the old, reliable, useful, and trustworthy Weather Underground is gone. All of that former glory has been replaced by a poorly planned, poorly executed site that appears to have been designed by the pre-k division from Fisher-Price.
The best recommendation I have is to get used to nws.noaa.com and find other sources for radar data.
Loads super slow, often incompletely. No new features, no new information. 10-day forecast is no longer viewable on the start page. No improvement whatsoever over the old. What are these a-wipes thinking? Fortunately, my local Fox affiliate has a fairly decent weather site, because Weather Underground is completely useless now.
The site has been up and down all week and today it's just 404 page not found. I give up, if WU wants a useless site, so be it. I won't go there.
Seems all the useful things are gone. Where is the graph of predicted temp and wind direction vs time?
I've been a paying member of this site for a decade and I'm almost done with it. Go back to where it was 3 years ago. Storm tracks were the first to suffer from the stupidness of updates. Now I have to go to 3 different pages ( WHEN THEY WORK) to get the same information before this new change. If it ain't broke, leave it alone. LOOKING FOR A NEW WEATHER SITE... any recommendations?
The ads load fine but not much after that. Used to be the perfect weather website with highly local weather conditions.
Answer: This was deliberate calculated sabotage for some reason
Answer: It won't come back. IBM bought The Weather Company to get at the data so they could package and sell that to their corporate customers using their "Watson" cloud services. Individuals mean nothing. That they've managed to so thoroughly destroy what was once the premiere weather site says a lot about the incompetence behind their core "Watson" products. You might want to tell IBM that.
Answer: They hired a bunch of idiots to manage and design their new site. This included removing features and gutting the radar.
Answer: Yes. We have many employees who come to work each day desperate to appear productive and relevant. We ask them to destroy functional lean websites with bloated nonsense. Meanwhile, our executives require more money so we like to devastate communicative websites with ad-infested infestations of pus-riddled idiocy. Thanks for asking!
Answer: Pointless giving feedback/complaints. I tried this and got an automated reply telling me how much better it was!
Answer: Your local Tv station meteorologist.
