I sent money to someone I trust overseas $1124. 00 to be exact. I used my debit card for the transaction early in the morning. By 7:15 am I received a email saying they cant help me, then I called customer care. It took 45 minutes to reach someone and the lady was real apologetic about the situation. After a while of talking she put me on hold. Another 35 minutes and my call was dropped. She did call me back and told me she would send email or fax to my bank. I waited all day and nothing. My bank stopped my account. I got a email from WorldRemit saying they couldnt help me and shut down my account. I have no idea why. No explanation whatsoever. My bank is trying to retrieve my money now.
This type of stuff shouldnt happen to us! Why is this place still in business? Oh and my bank told me that WorldRemit had checked out my account in April. I never heard or the company until today 07/03/2018. Why was WorldRemit checking out my account in April? My bank said they will put the money into my new account but said it would be best not to spend it Incase they cant retrieve my money. I am madder than a hornet about this rip-off company. Do yourself a favor and dont use this company. You will only receive regrets for using this bogus company.
I saw WorldRemit's ads and decided to try to use it to send money from the USA to Mexico instead of WU. Signing up was easy and hassle free - except that almost immediately after creating the Transfer and collecting the money to be sent from my bank account (Several hundred $USD), they sent me a message saying that, "We're sorry to inform you that we've made the decision to cancel your transaction and close your account". They then informed me that depending on my bank, it may be 2 to 21 days before my money is back in my bank account.
There was no explanation given as to why this decision was made; and when I went to their site and tried to use their chat option, the only information I was given was the blurb about the 2 to 21 days to get my money back and that they could not tell me why the decision was made, but that I should read their terms and conditions and try and figure it out myself.
I wish that I would have done some homework about this company before I used it because at the time I am writing this review, their Customer Review Ranking is 1.76 out of 5 which tells you that they don't have very many satisfied customers. I am certainly not happy and would warn against using them.

Yesterday, I tried to send $200. Yes! Only $200. They asked for authorization so I called them. I was on the line waiting for 45 minutes. Then somebody answered and asked me detailed questions for 57 minutes! Some of the questions were how I know the person to whom I am sending money, where did we meet, how we met, when was the last time I saw her, what is her relationship with me. Then I said these are too many questions just for $200. The guy said oh, so you are uncomfortable answering questions! I said no I will answer questions but this is ridiculous. They kept asking more questions and finally said they would send me an email letting me know about the decision. The email said the account will remain closed. The money was already debited from the account. I have never been treated so disrespectfully. There is a reason this company is not acceedited. Dont waste you time, money and nerves with them. They are plain horrible. They only post positive reviews on their website that are probably written by the employees. It is much better Togo to your bank and transfer money rather than dealing with WorldRemit. Will never try them. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Do not use World Remit to transfer money, they do not transfer your money and do not refund you, they keep stalling you when you email or call them, do not use world remit!
A week ago I made a transfer to a relative for a significant amount (less than the maximum amount allowed). For a week they have been saying that they have technical problems internally and no one is responsible. Nobody knows anything except that it is a technical problem. I have opened numerous complaints and it does not help at all. The days go by, they play with money that does not belong to them and no one contacts me to provide an explanation. LAST TIME I MADE A TRANSFER THROUGH WORLDREMIT. Not only have they lost me as a client, on Monday I will file a lawsuit against this company for FRAUD in addition to placing negative reviews on all possible pages to warn about this type of situation. If you don't want to lose your money, AVOID SENDING MONEY THROUGH THIS COMPANY.
They cancelled my transfer after 14 working days for no reason, then they said it will take another 7 more days to get a refund! Worse worse worse service ever!
I've send money on October 23rd and canceled right away the same day i have been waiting on a refund ever since. They asked me to provide manual banking info which I did they said mu case has been forwarded to their financing department but I received nothing every time I call no one answers the phone is just a live chat they're always telling me wait 3 to 5 business days but I've been waiting... I WONDER IF ILL EVER GET MY $500 BACK! VERY HORRIBLE PEOPLE!
This fools charged my account using a foreign address causing my bank to charge me international fees of 100 swiss francs untop of the 3.99 fees paid to world remit and world remit refuses to take responsibility. Beware people, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE, if you are based in Switzerland, they will charge you as if you are in the UK and cause international transaction fees on your account,
This is the worst service I've ever received from any company. They took money failed to transfer and wants a week to have the money credited back to my account. They are Scam!
I sent money to the Republic of Moldova and it was sent to Moldova instead and when I cancelled the order I was told to wait until they process it and it's now been more than 24 hours and they still haven't refunded my money the customer service is terrible and so are there exchange rates Sony advice would be NEVER use worldremit it's not worth the risk
Closed my account without notice or cause but still send me marketing spam "we've missed you" etc. I wouldn't use them to send money to a dogcatcher.
I tried to send someone some money and the next thing I knew I was locked out of my account. I spent 40 minutes on hold and then the operator said your account is closed, there is no appeal, we will not give you any information as to why, and what else can I do to "help" you today?
I transfer money to here on the 2March 2023 and she still has not received it. I have sent Emails to customer services and do e everything they requested and still it has not been sorted out. THIS Company is fraudulent! Please DO NOT USE THEM IT I NOT SAFE. I cannot understand how they are allowed to operate. Will somebody please do something about this because they Are stealing peoples money!
They did not give any reason why transaction was canceled and why the account was disabled.
At the moment, the money is still "locked" on my credit card.

This site is clearly a scam. They allowed me to register, send money, debit my credit card, and then disabled my account without giving me a reason. Steer clear of this site.
I am a web developer and with clients across the globe. On the 30th of January 2022, I asked my client to pay me through world remit since the wire transfer from her bank Regions Bank in the US to my Bank GTBank was not working. She asked me if I was sure of the company since she had never done any cross-border transactions outside the United States. I assured her that it was a reliable company. She proceeded and transferred the fund $2000 (screenshot link). After several days the money failed drop. The sent her messages of delay and technical issues (screenshot link:)
They canceled the transaction after about 15 days of waiting and said she would get a refund in 7 days. (See screenshot) its now 1 year and 7 months no refund. After so many calls to support with no response. We reached out to the CEO Ismail and some other staff on LinkedIn they blanked and blocked her. The World Remit Support on Facebook apologized for the delay and said the refund was processed since the 5th of February 2022 that she will be notified via email for further updates ( see screenshot:) and this was the last we heard from them. They stopped picking up calls or responding to support messages.
We going to do a video together exposing this company. It's a scam and if you think you are going to scam me of my hard-earned money. Think again because I am gonna be publishing videos of your scam every week on all social platforms.

You better change your bank account credentials if your worldremit account was disabled
WorldRemit seems like a scam to me. They request ID documents and then cancel the transaction and close the account. I suspect they are just phishing for ID documents. Beware!
I really won't give a star to this company, I downloaded the app, give all my information and sent the money to my brother, he was never able to pick up the money because the offices they say they operate were closed and when I tried to recover my money, they say they won't give it to me because they don't have my info. I gave them my customer id, an transaction code but they say it's not enough, they basically STOLE MY MONEY, SO BE CAREFUL
Lately very bad service, you dont get notified when the receiver is no longer dealing with money transfers from worldremit so I have ended up with no clue and a pending status and the money was never released overseas and when finally I get connected with support teying to find out what was going on, is when they advice me that they not longer have business witt X receiver, so they say they have to cancel it and still need to wait 7 business days for refund, and rhe money my family need it to received ASAP, still waiting for my refund after 7 days has passed, it used to be a good app, few years ago, but now there is to many inconsistencies, i have had more than 3 issues with them in one week, so dissapointed.
Absolute criminals! They should be thrown in jail! They take the! Money out of your account then cancel the transaction! Good luck getting your money back!
