I paid £12 for 'The Merchant Seamen's War'. It was a paperback edition, and I found 8 pages in the heart of the text had no printing. When I alerted customer service, they were able to supply a replacement which turned out to be rather better than the original, being a first edition hardback. That's the good news. Hidden away at the back of the book was the receipt from the charity shop in Widnes where this second hand book was bought - price £2.00. I make that a 500% mark up. Which made me think...

Needed some maps for an upcoming trip yo the Lake District. Saw no point in buying new ones, since use would be limited. Great selection and really good prices. Two maps duly arrived in a couple of days, normal for WOB. Both in really good condition and about to be pressed into action. Great all round service.

I purchased 2 used books recently, both of which were described as 'very good' condition, but which in fact had quite a lot of pages that were stained and mistreated. I'll not be using WoB ever again. I'd strongly recommend using other book sellers because I received very poor service.
I also tried to order a hardback copy of 'The Berlin Exchange' and was misinformed by WoB that a paperback version was available, when in fact it is not even released until September 2022.
