I wanted to try out a couple of different authors but without dipping too heavily into my pockets. I ordered seven books from WOB and paid no more than if I had bought three new ones.
What I liked was the choice available (far more than you would expect to find on a second hand book stall, for example), and the quality of the books themselves. It was obvious that they had been read but they were in very good condition, as described on the website.
The website itself was easy to browse and to order from. Delivery times were reasonable I received regular updates on the progress of my order until it arrived.
Overall, a very positive experience and I shall probably use them again.

Wob now my first call for second hand books. Very pleased with the condition which matches and sometimes surpasses the description on the site.
I have been using WOB for years now. I have always found their website easy to use. The books I have ordered, and yes it is usually books, have all arrived in good time and in the condition advertised. I occasionally order CDs but when one was faulty I was very pleased with how quickly it was replaced after I complained. I do like WOB. Now, excuse me I have another order to place for my latest book group selection.
PROMOTION DID NOT WORK ON BUY THREE GET ONE FREE.
This might have been my fault but the service level after sales was not good. I purchased three books and thought that may be the offer comes up at checkout (as there were no explanations on how the promotion worked), The promotion did not come up so I tried to get in touch but like all websites plenty of help but no solution or any one to speak too. I emailed to ask for help just to be given an its your fault sort of reply, I re e-mailed to explain again that the issue was in the lack of explanation on how the promotion worked only to receive another e-mail which basically said the same thing and asked me to contact them again if I was not happy and they would pass on the complaint( this from a customer service e-mail). I have replied but as yet not receive a reply.

Always bought books through Amazon before but heading for WOB website is so much better. I can browse through to whatever author I want and the delivery date is always correct and the books are used but always clean and tidy. I love to pass on what I read to others as sometimes they cannot afford to buy themselves.

Reading the reviews on Trustpilot, Yelp, and on Google reviews, it seems that there is a consistent problem of how they advertise used books. I'm one of those people who are affected by this and I'd love to share my experience on it.

That was what was described. What I received was far from being excellent and very good.
I have never made a review prior to buying this book, but this was just ridiculous so I'd have to share. I wouldn't consider this to be in excellent condition due to all the overall condition of it. There is writing in the book, there are a bunch of underlining both in pen and pencil, and even doodles.
I bought this online off AbeBooks so I'd have to spend money to ship it back due it not being what was described. I find it absurd how I have to waste my time and money to send it back when it was not as advertised. So I'm hoping to receive a full refund and be reimbursed for the return costs, until then this review is staying up and should serve as a warning to others to see what they are getting into

Buy quite regularly from WOB - usually my first port of call, especially when I'm looking for a specific book. Quality usually as expected, delivery always swift and I like the ethos. Only once had to return a book as condition wasn't as advertised: Customer Service were impressively quick to respond to my initial email but thereafter the conversation always required prompting from me to move it on. Correspondence was always polite though, and issue was ultimately resolved satisfactorily.
I always book online here, even though I live in Barcelona and they usually arrive in two weeks. It's worth the wait! Very good prices, and I find here books that I can't find anywhere else. Sustainability is also a plus.

I love WOB... I buy often and I always get what I want at Great prices. I took advantage of the 4 for 3 offer recently... as usual the books and price were spot on but their packaging wasn't up to scratch for posting 4 quite hefty (300+ pages) books... their standard bag was ripped to shreds and one book had to be fished outta the posties bag completely separate. It could have easily been lost! The bags are OK for 1 or 2 books, maybe more if they're light, but deffo not for the travel guided I'd ordered.
This sadly let them down this time... upgrade to thicker or padded bags for heftier purchases and they'll be back on 5* again... but for now it's a sad 4*

For the first time I was disappointed with World of Books. The four books I purchased were all described as being in "very good" condition but one was definitely only OK at best. The customer service took a while to respond to a query and failed completely to respond to a follow-up question having answered (to their satisfaction, not mine) the original question. World of Books is great value and a generally excellent service, hence my disappointment on this occasion.

Item was advertised as in very good condition. But was missing pieces when it arrived.
I ordered a tarot deck and when I received it the seller had put a sticker on it indicating four cards were missing. I reached out to the seller via their Website. It did not seem to work properly. I then did a search for them and filed a complaint through another portal on their website from an external link. The seller has not responded and I had to open a dispute with PayPal.
