Money Wasted
June 3, 2022

Wasted over $2000 on this game, it is a gambling menace masquerading as a "kids game".
Updates have ruined the game, only the whales left.
DO NOT COME BACK FOR "NOSTALGA' its long gone.

They don't care
December 8, 2020

I had been playing this game from the day it came out up until midway through this year. While it was fun at first it quickly became apparent over the yeas that the company itself didn't care at all about it's players or their opinions unless these players were the big spenders. They rarely listened to ideas and only cared about getting as much money out of you as they possibly can. Don't spend a lot of money, your opinions don't matter. Updates to actual storyline were not often. Updates to dungeons that cost money, packs that rarely dropped good items, and other such items were a lot more common. Often with high, very high, price tags. Recently they'd been throwing out a lot of events that if you do the math would cost nearly 300 USD to complete. Mind you this is game mainly pointed at kids between the ages of 11-17 so that's quite a price tag on a one week event. What really sealed this game for me and why I left though was this years summer update where they very clearly didn't listen to any outcry of the players. Destroyed any and all hard work of the players, some of which have been playing for over a decade, and made the long grinding efforts practically useless. Spells that were critical to those schools of choice were destroyed and rendered useless, gear (crafted, bought, dropped) was rendered pointless, and Kingsisle didn't even care when people were crying out and saying stop. Nobody asked for this update, very few liked it, and I am one of the many long term players that hung up their wand and said enough. I am done being ignored by a company that clearly doesn't care for it's player base, throws bans around like candy, and only cares about money. While money is important, your player base's opinions should be just as important if not more.

Game charges for membershipe when the player base is less then 100. I played it for about a week and got to know everyone in the game is full of npc players and moderators. They charg for membershipe and have a bunch on play to win items in there store. Is hard to get the play to win items do to the fact u have to get the packs they sell making it a 75 percent chance of u gettig the rare items maybe a higher rate. You spend a bunch of money trying to get the items and gear u want. When they player base is really low. I started playing when the max lvl was 50 they play base was high you were able to do 4v4 player vs player now the max lvl is 150 and the game started to die at lvl 90. Theres only 1v1s in ranked cuz the player base is so low. Npcs and moderators run the game making it seem like they have a player base play to win game gotaa pay for membership on a dying game is sad to say not worth it when the player base is lesss then 500 players maybe less then 100

I love wizard101 (I'm 21 now and have been playing it ever since i was about 13, I've spent soo much $ on there in the past, i can't even count it.). The only thing is contacting customer service can be a bit of a pain. Last year or so I was banned for a couple of years do to a pay-by-mobile issue i was using when i would order crowns though my phone. At first I had to pay like $30 back to the company... but as the months went on the price went up for some reason. And kept going up and up and up until i was at $50 I had to pay back. Which at the time was a bit annoying. Finally I paid them back last year after a few years of being banned... I contacted customer service via email and kept getting an auto response saying since i have payed. I am unabnned. But when i would log in it would still tell me I was banned. So i replyed again and they said i would have to pay AGAIN... and we kept going back and fourth, they would always tell me the same thing "Your account is unlocked. You have to pay, your account is unlocked, you have to pay and so on so on. What i did not know was (until i asked about it in the w101 forums) is that you HAVE to keep replaying back to the same email, eventually the email will become top priority and an ACTUAL person will reply... Eventually my email did get though to a live person and they finally unbanned me, and for my troubles they gave me a week of free membership. Which was fine for me. I'm still loyal to wizard101. It will continue to be a great go to game. But i'm not sure if i will be spending anymore $ on it since the worlds are getting harder and harder, and no one in my friends list is ever on anymore. (Like it they use to be in 2009!)

My daughter found this game 3 years ago and we play it together. I never thought I would get so into a game online but we both love it. It is made by KingsIsle and they really care about their customers, their customer service has been exceptional and efficient when we have had needed extra help with things. Of course it is a business and as such they do provide opportunity to spend, but it is NOT pay to win which keeps it appealing. All you need to enjoy the entire game in full (including side activities) is available for membership fees, which you can get for as little as $5 (US) a month... kids say it is expensive but membership is less than one beer a month, or one meal out a year or for the pair of us to have accounts it is less than one trip to the theatre a year! Unlimited access, 6 wizards each and more content and things to do than we can ever complete... totally worth it and our best online discovery so far! :)

Wizard101 is and was a popular game that I liked when I was younger, but now it is pointless because I played a lot MMORPG games and they don't beg you for money to progress any further into the game. Wizard101 has not improved on its market leniency on crowns neither any easier and less agenizing ways to earn crowns without being questioned by a bunch of fact that don't benefit a lot of people who is not from the US. I understand that you have to make money but people are not gonna spend that much forever on a game that don't benefit their life at the end... My suggestion is to work around your profit scheme on in game items, premium purchases and skins.

This game is amazing! It has a great story line and back story and keeps you occupied. But when you get past the commons you go to the grandfather tree and you have too pay money to get in or buy a membership. So is this really gonna say "free to play" when only like 1/16 is played. So now that I think about it is it really that great?

This is a fantastic game! I have some points I would like to add to show how great it is, or defend what I know is an amazing game.

1. Not free/ wrong advertising- People have to not be paying attention to think this game is scamming people. The commercial states, and I quote what I'm watching right now, "Download your free trial and start playing today". It states that not only is it a TRIAL, but that it is a download game. If you listen, you'll know.

2. Overpriced- This game is far from overpriced. Similar games I've seen do not have all of the features of Wizard101, and yet can still charge upwards of $30/month, and I even saw one that charged $150/year. When you consider the price, you also need to consider everything you are paying for. Just look at the complexity of the game! And they are always fixing and maintaining, and they also add new worlds and areas often! Overpriced is wrong, underpriced is an understatement.

3. Bad customer service- None of the people I've ever spoken to or met have had problems with customer service. My friend had her computer hacked, and the hacker bought crowns on Wizard101 on her account. When she reported it, she was refunded the FULL $563. They even offered her a free membership for 6 months. To me, that's excellent customer service.

This game is amazing, especially for families. I recommend this for anyone who wants to have a fun game for themselves and their families. Plus, they even offer a family deal. Definitely a great choice!

Amazing
March 22, 2017

This game has an amazing storyline. Its graphics often make the game labeled as childish. I can understand that, but if you pay attention to the story line you will realize it is quite morbid. I do not believe this game is for kids, especially due to the high complexity of higher up worlds. It's a strategy game, you bend to what is given to you. It can be challenging and that is the point, if you get past the first story arc (Dragonspyre) I see very few kids and it is mostly 16+ that play the game.
I have been playing this game since it came out in 2008, I started when I was 10 years old. I have seen them develop and although there were some things I was not happy about in terms of equal treatment between the schools (Myth is always getting the short end of the stick), I am very happy and content playing this game. Almost every single MMORPG is pay to play, I'm not sure what or why people thought this game would be different. If you wait until they have their special every couple months, it drops the membership to $5 a month ($60 for a year) and is by far one of the best prices found anywhere.
It's sister game, Pirate101, is also very good if people would give it a chance. Check it out, too!

Not to good. Fun in beginning. It is also overpriced. If they had decent prices I would give it cool.
