WW keeps changing their model when the original one worked best. 0 point foods (aside from leafy green vegetables) eventually translates into 0 calories in people's minds and there is no such thing. The new plan is particularly ineffective for this who follow a plat based diet. Beans, legumes, etc are very carbohydrate and calorie dense. Allowing this to be a zero point food is not the same as meat products.
0 points also leads to over consumption of the foods in this category and underconsumption of foods that are healthy because they come with a high point price tag.
The program has gone down hill. I've tried it a number of times after each change and it's never been as effective as the original format. This last go - I lost no weight at all. If you are plant based and over 50, use my fitness pal. Track your calories make sure you hit your macros to ensure a healthy balance of foods. You and your bank account will be glad you did.
I have eye problems due to autoimmune disease. Have been a lifetime member for about 30 years. The last 4 years with them closing so many workshops can no longer get there. Had to cancel my membership. Thanks for nothing.
I signed up for 3 months printings rate to use the app...I didn't love it. The free calorie tracking app I already had was better. So I assumed it would cancel after 3 months... but no I just found out they have been auto charging my credit card for 17 months. I am not saying their services are bad, I would just recommend being very diligent about canceling when you are not using it bc they will charge you forever. It says try for free but I would be careful about adding any payment info.
This company has a very old and good reputation, however, they put you on auto-renew, and, when it renews, it is typically for 3 to 6 mo at a time. You cannot get a refund once they start billing, or re-start billing. They do not send notifications that they are re-booting your billing, either. In order to cancel, they make it as difficult a process as possible.
As far as the "new" program goes: The points system makes little sense and I found it to be not effective. You can think of calories as "points" just as well as the WW system and keep control of your weight in a much more efficient manner-no charge.
I cancelled my membership and it said it was cancelled but a month later and it's ony bank statement again! Called customer service and was told it will be a year before they stop billing which is BS! Never signing up for ww again!
I'm extremely disappointed today with the customer service I had received on the 24/7 chat on the app. I was trying to resolve a billing issue when I was told there was nothing that can be done and was hung up on. I've had a WW membership for many years and had never been treated like this. I had tried to cancel my membership last month only to be tricked into saying you hate to see me go and would receive a month for free, only to be charged the same day I tried to cancel. I'm on disability and on a very fixed income where I have to plan out to the penny every month. Now due to the $24.60 charge on my credit card I will be unable to play in full and get hit with interest charges. I feel like I was lied to and deceived but most of all just disappointed. I had planned to sign up again at the first of the year when I could budget it but will be looking for different options now as I will never come back to WW. I will make sure to let everyone know how WW treats their customers.
Although I see some benefit, there are some areas where they drop the ball. They push to sell their processed food products which overall are not a healthy option vs a whole food. Secondly they promoted a free 60 day trail. Within the 60 days I realized this was not a good fit so I requested to cancel the membership. The app and the website was not user friendly, I had better results using my fitness pal. Lastly, what they fail to clearly communicate is in the small fine print you are still responsible to pay the 60 days. So I cancelled in May, due to pay June but still had pay for July and August although I am no longer a member. Please watch out for this. Unfortunately, it's a bait and switch, they bait you with free, it's not truly a free 60 day trail.
WW will continue to charge you after you cancel. I canceled my membership in February, we are now in July & they continue to try & charge me. Ive had to contact my CC provider to tell them & provide emails proving I canceled my service earlier this year within guidelines of WW terms & conditions. The scale they offer is only compatible with certain phones, it was not compatible with mine (Samsung Galaxy note9), they need to be more specific on that & what phones their products are compatible with.
Food options are limited and I believe their point system is way off! My daily calorie intake was 500 to lose 20 lbs in 9 months for my wedding. I weighed 160.
On December 13,2023, I enrolled in what I thought was a three-month subscription with Weight Watchers. However, I later discovered I had been enrolled in a full one-year subscription. To make matters worse, I was prescribed medication (Metformin) for weight loss, which caused adverse reactions. When I called on January 5,2024, to cancel the subscription once the three-month contract ended, I was told I had enrolled for a twelve-month contract instead. Despite my repeated insistence that I had only signed up for three months, the customer service representative told me to review my receipt and transferred me to a Watchers representative named Amy from the resolution department. I informed Amy I received several emails welcoming me to the Weight Watchers program but did not receive a receipt or contract. Amy denied me a copy of the receipt. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, my request was declined. I am disappointed by the lack of transparency.
Do not sign up for this program because they will not let you cancel. I have broken my leg and they will not let me out of the program. I am no longer able to bear weight on my leg until it heals so I cannot weigh myself. There is no point in doing the program if I cannot follow the food rules or weigh myself, but they don't care. I am in a rehab program, so I am obligated to eat their food. I can't go to the grocery store. And they will not let me out. Please do not sign up please
I am a lifetime member and the old software was much easier to use and only took 2 to 3 mnutesto accomplish. Every year now they change the diet right before Thanksgiving and Christmas so you don't have the time to catch up. Its a shame that since OPRA got control it has gone way down hill. It is all a scam now!
I love the ease of Weight Watchers. The app is great. This biggest problem is with the management of WW. They change things often, they say only every several years but it has changed 3 times in 4years. They canceled classes making weigh in challenging. The feeling, if you are lifetime, is that WW has lost interest in you...is that because we don't have to pay if we're at goal weight?
My weight watchers app stopped working and after a chat online with someone who didn't have a clue, I spoke to a rep. He was assigning a case number and said someone would call me. Now I spoke to someone for status and they had no clue about a case put me on hold and forgot me!
I tried twice to cancel on my phone, (I didn't care for the new program) and twice it said my account was canceled and twice I was billed. This month I was billed a third time and I used my PC to cancel. Finally, I think it went through. However, they refuse to refund me because they have no proof. I do have the email on my PC from this month, however, when I tried to retrieve past messages sent to them from my phone, there isn't anything stored on my account. So I am now out $68.85.
I would give 0 stars if I could. By the time I figured out it wasn't working for me (4 wks) and tried to cancel, they informed me that I could cancel but they would still bill me for the next 9 months. It doesn't work for everyone, everyone is different, I'm sure they know this but take your money anyway. Because of this shady practice I don't recommend this program for anyone.
Weight Watchers is a big scam. You pay 10 dollars a month to just log your points. You have to pay up to 100 dollars for the use of the APP. All weight watches wants is for you to BUY THERE products... If you place an order an have issues. YOU WILL wait over 1 hour for any help. Or over 30 mins if you use the Coaching Tool in the Web Site. Then they will not help you.
STOP! Check the details, before committing to any WW "plan." Lack of transparency, particularly regarding their plans and payment. While they openly advertise "cancel at any time," what they really mean is, you can cancel, but payments will still be required until your plan is complete. I cannot see my plan details (length of time) under membership settings, only the payments I have already made. The link they provide to their CS email, results in an e-mail response, "this account is no longer monitored" (then why is the link there?). Hold time with CS phone is too long (I hung up). I believe my last payment (6 of 6) is now complete. It will be interesting to see if their system still bills me. I've used their online "cancel account" options no less than three times, but I've yet to see an e-mail confirmation (yes, I've checked spam). In my opinion, this is just another on-line company that takes advantage of "auto-billing," in which YOU are required to contact THEM to stop/cancel plan/payments. They hide the details of the plan(s) in the multitudes of advertisements and "spiel" that appear on their website. There's nothing new on their website or their app, that I didn't already know or can't do myself for free. Save your money. If you want to do WW, seek local meetings, library, or other online books.
PSA Don't order anything chocolate from WW during the summer. I have a store or studio near by but it is open with very limited hours and I kept missing them. So I decided to order online, only to receive my items melted and reconstituted, making the chocolate grainy and certainly less tasty. When I called WW I was told their refund or exchange policy excludes chocolate in the summer. Seems to me if they can't guarantee delivery in the state and consistency under which it is sold, they should stop sales in the summer. Her only solution was giving me a 20% coupon code for a future order. After blowing $50 on melted bars, this girl won't be making any future orders so I politely declined. Disappointed! Was looking forward to my chocolate treats.
I am very unhappy with the service as I believed that I would get a meal plan, as provided while reading the marketing info. Instead I still have to decide on meals. As my Fitbit provides all the other functionality for reporting food, sleep, etc. this is a complete waste of money. Also, zero refunds and I am locked in for 6 months instead of the 3 that was advertised. My recommendation is DON'T buy this.
Good website! Very informative. I can spend hours just reading all the articles, healthy recipes, tips for exercise, etc. I want to give 5 stars because I visit this website almost every day, but minus one star for putting a little too much advertisement.
WeightWatchers has a rating of 2.2 stars from 158 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with WeightWatchers most frequently mention customer service and point system. WeightWatchers ranks 14th among Diet sites.
