I have reviewed this company on Google before. Problems got better and seemed to be fixed. But here we are again, running late, missed pickups and horrible customer service. Trash hanging out of garbage cans and that alone is a health concern not to mention all of the dogs that live on my road and wild animals. I absolutely do not recommend waste management at all and would love to see a different dependable company serving my area.
Waste management there drivers and customer service are rude and they don't pick up on the days they are supposed to
After years of being a customer, I had enough of the rude customer service and my bill continuing to raise. I called today to cancel my service. I was transferred 3 times and on hold for over 45 minutes. The final rep was extremely rude and hateful about me wanting to cancel. I couldn't believe the experience I was having from such a large company. He refused to cancel us immediately and instead won't end our service for 40 more days and will charge us $330 to come pick up our 2 yard dumpster. I asked to receive in writing their cancellation policy that states they charge such an insane amount to cancel, but he refused to give it me saying "that's just the fee". It was a ridiculous experience and we are being raked over the coals by Waste Management!
We have not had trash pick up for the whole month of February. We call every day and they tell us it will be picked up by the end of the day. F##king idiots We are switching companies today! Please don't use waste management. They are trash literally
Today, February 18th@ 8:58 am. I look at the window and see everyone's trash blowing all over the streets / yards. I see the trash man coming next door and go outside to pick up a bag of trash that blew off of my can. As I am walking out, I see the truck coming to my yard, I pick up the bag and stand back out of the trucks way, he doesn't even take the trash I have in my hand! Trash is all over the streets, I go out and start picking up the neighbors trash, the employee is gonna tell me not to walk in his way. Really. I was never in your way, I stood back out of your way! I hope my camera on my door caught it all. He could have said, thanks.
Scheduled for 4 pick ups but when they miss a week there is no discount. So in texas the pocketed around $30.00 + for every account they service. Complete BS. Find a local service company and save.
Have a contract and won't abide by it. Flat fee contract was with Advanced disposal. They bought them out and had to honor it. They try to add "overage fees" each week! $175. Each fee. Each month come up with a new amount and then the next month say you owe more. Very dishonest!
I would give them a negative review if I could. Who needs this aggravation!
Trash hasn't been picked up in a month. Customer Service is terrible. They give you the run around, I've called every week five times a day and they keep saying they are on th way and never show up..
I called in several times to get someone to help me with a new owner transference, they transfer me from one department to another one ending in leaving a message in an answer machine after one hour waiting with several departments.
I can not believed why is so complicated.
Very poor customer service, seems to me that they don't event care about my request and probably the community as well.
So dissatisfied with the employees and service.
I know for sure that is a lot a people who does not have a job at this moment that will be happy to work there and help us out better than the people that is currently working there right know that just care in collecting the pay check then work.
Skipped me 3 weeks in a row now, had me waiting to get rid of a trash can that they couldn't even pick up and then picked up the wrong one these people are a joke don't waste your money, there's plenty of cheaper options out there and any of those would do better
They are now using a non- WM hauler and they combine recycled and regular trash in one trucker, so we are recycling and paying that service?
Zanesville, IN... Before WM took over Advanced Disposal/Earth First the service was great. No missed pick ups at all. After WM there have been multiple missed picked ups with no explanation. Calling customer service is a joke. They just lied about not being able to get down my road for pick up when other trash services have had no problem picking up other neighbors trash. Their prices just increase by $13 at the beginning of 2022 and in January i have had 1 trash pick up, the rest were missed days. I hate having to keep my extra trash bags in my garage just because they keep missing pick up days with excuses as to why they couldn't pick up. Now i'm trying to cancel my service just to realize there are NO REFUNDS & you have to pay $75 for them to pick up THEIR trash container when you cancel. That is highway robbery. HORRIBLE PICK UP SERVICE & CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT USE WASTE MANAGEMENT.
Unreliable service (many missed pick ups with no compensation or effort to correct), over priced and poorly trained customer service reps. I cancelled service on 1-17-22, received confirmation that autopay was cancelled. Service rep said I was all set and that the cans would be removed on the 19th.
Half my cans were removed, half were not. I was also billed on 1-21-2022 in the full amount for services that were not yet rendered.
Some History: On 1-5-22 a trash can was not emptied which was a frequent occoruance, and reported requesting it be picked up. I was told they would get it on the next pick up day (1-12-21). The following week 1-12-22 a different trash can was again missed, I again requested that they come and pick up two cans worth of trash. I was told they would service as usual the following week (1-19-21) and that I could place out bagged trash instead. That was the final straw, I requested cancellation on 1-17-2022. It is now 1-27-22 (two scheduled service days have come and gone) and I was told the cans will now be removed on 2/2/22. I was also told that the billing was my fault for not going back into my account and cancelling the autopay manually (the agent said nothing of the sort during my call to cancel, she said I needed to do nothing further and that I was all set), including the confirmation email I received saying autopay was cancelled on the 17th. Poor communication.
My final bi-monthly bill for 4 trash cans, 1 blue and 1 green can serviced weekly was $181.23! I switched to EDCO, I am getting a 5th trash can and will be paying HALF the price.
Do yourself a favor and avoid WM.
Also, they try to charge a $75 cancellation fee, refuse it and they will remove it.
I am a property manager and we have a dumpster for our tenants. They pick up every two weeks. They picked up in December. Then the two weeks came around and they did not pick up so we called them to find out why. Due to a tree limb in the alley - not on our property or related to us - they said they could not pick up that day and said they would pick up on the next scheduled pick up date. If we wanted them to come off schedule, it would be a $175 fee. Monday, January 24th was the next scheduled date and a month after the last pick up. Our dumpster is over-full with trash falling out and animals getting into them because we cannot close it up. I purchased two trash cans to get us by that we plan to put into the dumpster once it's empty. Tenants are holding trash. They did not come on the 24th! So in a few days, it has been 3 missed pick ups. This is ridiculous! There is a photo from a week ago and one from yesterday, 1/27/22. Since then, we have filled the extra trash cans and have trash being held in a room which will over-fill the dumpster again once the current trash is removed and we will be right back where we are now before the next pick up. I would give them zero stars if I could.
EDIT: As of today, 1/28, they have had more excuses than pick ups. Every missed pick up has had at least 3 different reasons why they haven't picked up. This place is ridiculous! Their practices need to be looked into.
Constant emails telling me the schedule has changed an my pick up will occur tomorrow - then tomorrow, the same thing. Supposed to be three times per week, but have had only one actual pick up in 19 days... but I am sure it will happen tomorrow!

High cost, for no service, garbage is piling up since two months ago. They leave messages they will pick it up next time, and don't.
I've called 4 times and still can't get them to pick up my dumpster. Constantly are missing pick ups.
Fo months they have been very erratic with service. They say they don't have drivers. U would think they know this ahead of time and email AHEAD of time that they wont pick your recyclable so one dent take it out only to have to bring it back. No, they email you after and say they wont be there until next week, then they don't come HORRIBLE!
When things go bad like a missed service or bad weather their customer service is horrible. I have to call, email, chat and get a little stern with them to get anything resolved. They don't invest in it and don't need to since we can't change to another provider. They also keep raising prices and cutting what they pickup for recycling. Yet the boast on their corporate website about all the profit they are making.
Answer: Apparently it is how they conduct business by being as rude and unethical as possible. I hope they did not steal from you as well.
