You can not cancel unless you're within 90 days (possessing time) of your automatic YEARLY renewal period. If you miss this 90 days, before your auto renew, you have to PAY $600 CANCELATION FEE.
Also you have to pay $250 for pickup of bin, and to cancel, you have to send in a registered letter via Canada post...? What? An actual registered piece of paper...? AVIOD this scummy company.
Charging a 75 dollar fee to pick up trash can because we are moving! I was never told about this fee! Terrible customer service
I have had Waste Management Service. The cost of service kept increasing. I cancelled my service to go with a company that does low volume every other week pick up. They informed me they only do cancellations on Saturdays so you get charged for the whole week. When cancelling my service I was charged a $75 "cancellation fee" for them to come pick up the toter. It's unbelievable that they attempt to keep their customers by charging them extra for cancelling

Terrible service and customer service doesn't exist. Took 4 days with continuous calls to finally get my trash picked up and supervisors wouldn't return my calls. On top of that they increased their rates for poor performance. Final straw was they broke my lid while emptying it.
Not only do they overcharge for their service, they lock you into a contract that you cannot break due to poor service. The website is an antique and impossible to achieve service results from. I needed a lock replaced on a container today and spent 20 minutes between website and customer call. I am cancelling my service in September when contract expires and have to submit the cancellation to them by registered mail. Switching to Portland Disposal (great service) ASAP. THE WORST>
Do yourself a favor and go with a local company. WM is such a large company they don't care at all about how they treat their customers. They charge ridiculous fees that are borderline illegal. I never signed any contracts with them ever, and when I called to cancel (which took hours waiting on hold) was informed "my contract" says I have to pay cancellation fees. What reputable company does that? I am firing them and they think they get to charge me for getting fired? Next time I get disciplined at work I am going to charge my employer for disciplining me! Ridiculous company. Do not use Waste Management.
I was never informed that there would be a 215.00 fee to remove the bin after canceling the $#*!ty service and outrageous fees customer support told me it was standard and I was basically told to pay the bill nothing they could do! I'm done!
Waste management in New Port Richey and their pick up crews are absolutely the worst. They miss pick ups even though they pick up everyone else on my block this is the third time in less than a month. Even when you call nothing changes and they won't even come out til your next pick up. My best advice to anyone is get another trash company i know i am. Enough is enough I've had it with them they are absolutely the worst trash service I've had in 30 years
@WasteManagement Our small business had been customers for years. We noticed our bill had gone from $153 a week in 2017 to $400.00 a week this year. An ex-employee was handling accounts payable and did not let us know how much it had increased. That is a reason to not use these thieves. This is for two of their cans. They were constantly not picking up while saying their "GPS" said they did, well the full garbage cans stated differently. We would have to call and request a pick up, and then they did not show up when they said they would. It was seriously not worth the hassle anymore. We hit our limit.
We called to cancel our pick up and they said we can't, as we signed a 3 year contract in 2017. Apparently, in the very, very, very small print it says they can automatically renew that. So small you can barely read it without a magnifying glass. They also say they can raise your rates but must notify you. Well, we were not notified, but they consider the fact you pay your bill is you agreeing to the increase. They say that is legal!
They have turned it over to their lawyers and said they will take us to court. We are a small business and just can not afford to pay this exorbitant rate for something they didn't reliably provide, and we no longer need. But they say they legally will force us to pay for something we are not receiving, we have not put anything in their cans since February 24,2022.
Please stay far away from Waste Management, as they are nothing but a crooked, waste themselves. Talk about Corporate Greed killing the little guy, they are prime examples.
I have had issues with this company from day one. I called them to start service, got passed around on the phone for 15 min and finally got to the person that could help me and they dropped my call. I had to call back two more times. They finally said I was all set up for service. Two weeks later, they took our trash bin. I called back and they said service was never set up, and since the previous owner closed the account they took the bin. I got passed around again, hung up on again, and they said they finally got it right this time. It took them a week longer than they said to get us our bin back, but that was fine. Then I receive the bill, and our service address is incorrect on it. Also, I am paying $30 a month more for the same service than everyone else in my neighborhood for some reason. I called them again, passed around, on hold, they finally tell me to call my account manager. I call her and leave a message. A week and a half goes by, no call back. I call and leave a message again. No call back. I get on the online chat with someone from the company, they put me on hold, and tell me that they can't help me. He said I have to CALL THEM. For the love of all things holy. This is insanity.
WM is always going up on price. I am completely considering switching to Dumpster Depot with cheaper prices and consistent service. WM employees aways skip my bin for pick up but make extra effort for my hoarding trash packing neighbors across the street. They leave tons of trash on the curb, and overfill the bin EVERY week. I have few bags of trash and I guess they assume it's empty. No, I want my bin picked up just like every one else on the route. And I know for a fact they are charging different people, different prices. After this month, they can bet on losing another customer. This is ridiculous.
I have had late payment charges besides I am on autopay and when I call customer service to address the issues they basically ignore what I said and either hung up or transfer me and when I got transfer they basically said I am wrong and they said is always my fault attached the proof enrollment of autopay and they got this unenroll then again I have to enroll and is not the credit card I've changed and even all the payments made were with the credit card on my account is frustrating to deal with this customer service besides the website is a mess giving 1 star but deserves less 1
They miss the trash pickup multiple times and they don't come to pickup. So all the trash get consolidated for two weeks and then they pickup the trash. Waste of time and money. Disturbs mental piece.
We have been with them for many many many years. They raised their prices so much we had to change. Never knew a company that must have 90 days written notice before end of contract to avoid renewal. On top of that they have charged us $675 to remove THEIR 2 dumpsters. No one should every sign up with this company.
Started "new" service, their trucks drove past the full container 2 weeks in a row. I called for a "special pickup". I was promised a pickup 2 days later (Friday). That didn't happen. No one called or showed up. I called back on Monday and was told I was on the list for that day. Once again, that didn't happen. It didn't happen the next day either. Tomorrow is the normal pickup day. If it doesn't get picked up I will cancel the service.
I posted a review on Google and got a response asking me to supply them with my post and their reply. So once again I get to do the work and they do nothing. I would give them zero stars if possible because they don't deserve 1 star.
Horrible customer service! Called to schedule an extra pick up on the morning of 4/3/22. Was told to have containers on the curb for pick up on the morning of 4/4. Didn't happen. Called to check on the status of pick up and was told, at first, that she didn't see the request. Then says "oh I see it here in the notes. Still no pick up. Call again and get a supervisor that says "there's nothing here about an extra pick up". When I told her what the 2nd lady said she replied "no, she didn't see anything in the notes". Really? Like WTF is going on at WM? Please get it together!
I am a commercial construction superintendent. Waste management takes at least 5 days to empty a dumpster. Most weeks I need 3 dumpsters in the week. They are pathetic. Can't run a job using them.
Company never provided a refund even after verification and reference numbers placed through multiple phone calls. Now they claim something else was communicated and won't follow through. Glad I chose another honest company. I'll never utilize their services again!
I have had a round rubber can for about 20 years without any problems. About 3 weeks ago I looked out and my can was gone. The driver just said too bad I can only pickup square cans. Customer service will give you $15 for that can. A new can is at least $50. I went out and bought a square can. First week ok, second week took the whole can. Again very sorry here is $15. That is their prepared script and there is no exception. But it's the only game in town so "sucks to be you" according to WW.
Answer: Apparently it is how they conduct business by being as rude and unethical as possible. I hope they did not steal from you as well.
