Ordered a 20 foot container for a roof tear off. The tearoff begins Sunday. I ordered the delivery for Friday. They did not deliver despite 5 phone calls and assurances the dumpster would be delivered. Over $750.00 later I'm stuck putting my roof removal on the ground hoping I can get my money back to hire another company. They f-ing suck. I'm telling you don't do it. It's a scam.
Pick up Mondays, did not pick up. Called Tuesday was told would be picked up by Wednesday. Called Wednesday morning to confirm and was given the pretty sure it will get picked up, no confidence asked for supervisor, probably go guy sitting next to inept agent i was just speaking to. Was assured it was on the schedule for today. Got call after5 saying thuey will pick up tomorrow. What a joke, will be going with Borden tomorrow
We've just moved to Knoxville. Contacted Waste Management to provide trash service. As you can imagine as any family unloading into a new home we have a tons of boxes. When we called to set up an account we were told to just place our old boxes at the curb and they would pick up
This morning the truck ran. Picked up our trash and picked up a grand total of 5 boxes while leaving the remaining boxes at the curb
Call customer service only to be told that they will only pick up 5 boxes a week
My question is what are new residents to do when they move to Knoxville with the hundreds of boxes which result from moving in
Waste Management had no answer other than 5 a week. That will take until 2024 to collect

They raise rates per the contract terms when fuel prices go up, but don't lower them when fuel goes down. They won't tell you the formula for the rate increase - just increase their charge. They will only lower their charges if you agree to a contract extension. Then they start raising the charges again in a couple of months.
I have called Each and Every Number on this Website to Obtain a Business Quote and EACH and EVERY number called -regardless of the Dept selected is FOR CURRENT ACCOUNTS. All are the same automated recording asking for Your Customer Code, then hangs up on you if you do not enter one. They're not trying to grow their business.
They keep raising the rates, and blame you for not calling in regularly to negociate, if you want to cancel the lie, and harrass you. Stay Clear
Have not picked up in weeks. Have contacted them thru web site and not getting far. Worst service ever
If I could give them zero stars I would. Miss more scheduled pick-ups than they show up for without any advanced warning. Driver illegally backs down my through street causing a dangerous situation. They often leave the can in the middle of the road when they actually do show up. I live in an area with lots of bears, have to pick up my garbage from mine and my neighbors yard at least a couple times a moth because they don't come as schedules. Cannot get anyone on the phone. Save your money!
Worst company to have for trash pick up. Pay for pick up once a week and they only pick up maybe once a month. Have called several times and still having the same problem! Buyer beware! Find another trash service if possible
I have never in my life yelled at a customer service agent until Waste Management. After not picking up our trash for 4 months, they offered to refund us $14. I will be pursuing legal action against them, and if anyone else who has been taken advantage of by them would like to join me, please reach out. After reading through reviews, it seems as though this entire company is nothing but a scam used to take money from people and have such horrible customer service that people are incapable of cancelling. This company does nothing but steal from their customers and treat them horribly.

I've never in my life seen a company in waste management so damn lazy and over paid by the city to only have the ability to do a less then half job I called in for a bulk pickup and there wasn't a lot a box spring fold up chairs a dismantled toilet and some metal roofing cut down to smaller sizes and some bad OSB board but to my surprise only the box spring and chairs were gone today
I was overcharged via auto pay. They "credited" my account what they overcharged me. But to my Waste Management account, not my bank account. Since I had already cancelled services, I had no use of this. I was told by multiple customer service representatives that there was no way to get my money back. I recommend avoiding them if you can, if you have no choice, definitely do not enroll in auto pay. Corporate thieves, trash is the right business for them.
Very crooked company. Never can get an honest person on the phone or the same person. They keep raising rates with no warning. Just take it from my account when they want. Want to charge me to pick up their dumpster when I cancel service. I deliver the dumpster over a month before service was up and they still charge me for service when I didn't even have a dumpster. The say It was my choice to bring the dumpster back. Still demanding payment and even when I offer to split it being they had their dumpster back they say no and call me names on the phone. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKED PEOPLE!

Never do business with this company if you have an alternate! I cancelled my service on June 18, and the tote was retrieved by them within a week. On July 6, they withdrew from my account the service fee for July-September! I complained to them about it at which time their agent told me I would be given credit for that fee on my final bill. On July 15 I contacted them again when I received my final bill, without any credit for the service I paid for but had no way to use. The agent told me she could do nothing about the July payment that had been taken but helped me revoke WM's authority to withdraw any more money from my bank account. I verified on my portal it was turned off. The 2 payments were similar with the balance in WM's favor so they would have been fully paid for the money they were owed.
On August 6 I received verification that the July 15 payment had been withdrawn from my bank account as well, AFTER I revoked authority for them to do so. If you have to do business with this company, never, ever, give them access to your bank account. They will still take out any money they want, even after you tell them to stop! Pay them only by check or the Bill Pay service of your bank.
The only reason my wife and I have this terrible company is because the town we live in is under contract with them. Their trashmen straight up lie about picking up the trash. I have made a sign that says "Waste Management, please pick up our trash". Customer service is a joke as well. I wish I had more hands so I can give them 4 thumbs down
I've had WM since 2001, and for the most part am satisfied.
However, being 68 years old and having a LONGGG driveway, it was hard to drag the individual recycling containers down for pick up, especially come winter with the snow and ice. Additionally, EVERY winter we would have at least one container that had the corners broken out due to being dropped into each other (cold?).
I went ahead and purchased a rolling cart to hold our recycling which was much easier.on both me and the driver, and the trucks are capable of lifting up rolling containers for recycling, as the first time before actually putting it in use I ensured that the driver could actually use the trucks lifting mechanism for recycling and he wouldn't have to lift it himself to dump. It worked fine and he was very appreciative as it would be three less containers he would have to bend over and lift every week, and thanked me.
Well, after a year of no issues, the driver did not pick up our recycling. It seems that since I had turned in the three broken containers when I started using the rolling container WM discontinued my recycling service altogether.
I called WM customer service to ask about the trash pickup but not the recycling and was told that it appears the driver had been picking up the rolling container out of habit and we needed to go back to the individual containers if we wanted to continue our service. I stated my age and difficulty with the small containers, and how the rolling container not only was easier for me, but their drivers, also. Unfortunately, this fell on deaf ears.
NOT very customer oriented. The trucks have the capability, and would save on driver back problems as well as easier on older adults with empty nests.

Would prefer a zero review. Harrisburg Pa. Crew Tossed and broke the handle off our new blue recycling bin. Witnessed. Cracked it and tore big hole in bin. Hard to get customer service to talk for one thing, let alone they could care at all. They know the township is in a contract, they could give a rats butt!
I used WM for over a dozen years. They slowly creep your bill up, I stupidly did not check their competitors price until about a year ago and found they were charging almost 4 times the amount of comparable services! I complained, got it lowered some, price went up again...'ooops sorry', they will guarantee the last year of my contract at a certain price, lasted a couple of months, went up again! Told them to come get the dumpster! I'm giving the short version, I wasted WAY too much time on the phone trying to resolve, BAD customer service. Stay away, don't sign a 3 year contract!
I've been doing business with WM for years, now no longer. Over the course of the last 3yrs, since 2019, we have been getting ripped off with what they charge. They are way overpriced and when I call to work with them on the price of the dumpster, they told me they could help and said they could get the bill down to a more competitive price. When I tried to get that price, I was told I had to sign another 3yr contract. NO WAY. In year 1 the price is great, years 2 and 3 - you will be ripped off. They are a bunch of liars, thieves and when you want to cancel at the end of being ripped off for 2yrs, they extort another $300 to cancel your contract. WM cared enough to lower the extortion fee from $300 to $130 - so nice of them.
Answer: Apparently it is how they conduct business by being as rude and unethical as possible. I hope they did not steal from you as well.
