WM has missed pickups 3 of the last 8 weeks, including twice in a row. The garbage has accumulated, overflowing into the ally. I call and I am told they will send a truck out, and they do not. I call to follow-up and I am told the route manager had sent someone out when they did not. This company is horrible. Unfirtunately local governments continue to use them and have allowed WM to obtain a monopoly.
Absolutely terrible service! Horrible customer service and company as a whole. Very frustrating to have your trash not picked up as scheduled and waiting for replacement ban.
WM is a very unethical company. I was charged more than double on an invoice. I called spoke with an account manager named Cory, he was awful. I then found another dumpster company who was a quarter of the monthly price. Then I had WM dumpster removed and had an invoice of $460 for one dump and removal! That is literally highway robbery! I called and emailed twice regarding the invoice and have not received a reply. WM is a horrible company!
Rented a dumpster. Driver arrived. Driver said dumpster wouldn't fit in drive, without blocking garage and driveway. Was at my home 5 minutes. He got back into truck, and left. I received a bill for $303.23. I didn't receive their service. The bill was for recovery fee, fuel charge, administrative fee, processing fee. Avoid this company, they will scam you.
Sat on hold for well over a half hour. Finally someone named Christina answered on the customer service to free line they provide on the website. She could not help me because she was in Michigan, but asked if she could put me on a one minute hold while she connected me with someone in Arizona. I sat another 5 minutes on hold before I was disconnected. Called back right away and got a recording saying they were closed. I was calling because I put our service on hold in June while we were out of town for the summer. I went to their automated online pos sure and found out my account was inactive and I owed almost 500 dollars! My account was at zero when we put it on hold in June. I just wanted to know why and start my service up again but after today, I am going with another trash provider and my account can just stay inactive. Dave yourself the headache. Find a local trash service, not Waste Management.
So this past Wednesday, WM missed picking up the greenwaste bins for the entire block on my side of the street. I called yesterday, Thursday, and they promised they would send a truck to pickup all the bins by the end of the day. Friday noon... still not picked up. Called again and could only get a commitment to pick up within 2 business days. Completely unacceptable as now unbagged food scraps (including meat) are in the greenwaste bins per California law. Just awful, smelly, and attracting flies and animals.
Cheated out of 8 hours of work. Vehicle vandalized and burglarized by fellow employees. Thugs on the payroll. Don't use these people for anything. So don't work there or contract their services.
DO NOT, this company took over our old trash service earlier this year, we had used CGS for almost 20 years and never had a single problem. Since WM bought out CGS its been nothing but problems.At one point they didn't pick up our garbage for 3 weeks but they still charge for it, you can't reach customer service.So I found another company today. Less money and guess what? A human being actually answered the phone, WOW what a concept. Now all I have to do is figure out how to get in touch with WM to let them know they're fired.
This company has terrible customer service, they have a big name so you think you can trust them. I would try and use a more local source of trash pick up they are more than likely owned by WM anyway but could offer lower prices and better service. WM will charge you extra fees at the end and the customer service line is not available.
If this review stops one person from using WM as a service then I would be happy. Have been a customer of WM since 2020. Once you sign a contract, don't go on autopay. Autopay will stop you from noticing the increases month to month and when your contract term expires. Once that contract expires and your autopay kicks in and pays that new invoice you automatically agree to another 12 months of their service and the only way out is to pay 6 months' service fee to get out. After reviewing local companies that are in the same business they are 40% higher than the local companies. Not worth the price and the service... avoid at all costs.
Terrible service-- more than 1 week the refund has not been received yet
Every 2 days need to push them to process it. But the money still have not received yet.
At the end, was told that the refund has been processed by last friday. Today is Monday, now it is 6pm.
It is waiting now...
I love how they wait until 30 minutes before their office closes before sending out an email saying your trash is gonna be delayed 1 week, 1 WEEK!. So I'm expected to NOT throw anything away or settle for bags of trash on my property. Then the scammers charge for those! Won't be making that quarterly payment either!
I have been customer for 2 years and recently had triple bypass surgery and not able to work right, my services were stopped due to a $138 bill. I told them I could make a payment on Friday ( in 2 days) I was told no, that I needed to make a payment today. A billion dollar company cut my services for $138. Waste Management doesn't care about there customers.
Been a WM user for 9 years! Newest bill went from 120 to 239, Due to a Hiddne FUEL charge of 98bucks
This is a SCAM and a Act of deciet on behalf of this Company,
They snuck in this charge on EVERYONE to recupe Fuel Cost! WITHOUT NOTICE!
When i called to ask about it (Yes i Complaned) i wa Told, "oh well It has been added to everyones accounts, and Theres NOTHING I can do about it!"
Im now stuck looking for a HONEST and RELIABLE company!
I would never recommend this company for trash service. I have been trying to get my refund for 2 1/2 months. Every time I call they tell me the same thing, it's being processed. Be careful of this company!
Slidell, La - WM evidently forgot why people used their svc.
Missed pickups, price hikes, & no longer pickup a 2nd trash bin (unless you pay 10.00 mo extra),
(I only use a 2nd bin every once in a while. I keep the trash in the can, no overflow or trash on the ground, lid is able to close, cut up boxes to fit in a trash bags, & keep trash clean in garbage bags).
I can not merrit $10.00 mo more, when not using it for maybe 4 or 5 times in 6mos
$75.00 to pickup their trash bin when you've canceled & had enough.
I now use a private co, & if need be would use anybody else other than WM.
By the way:
The one man truck pickup: - WM just put 1 to 2 guys on the back of the truck out of a job - Honest hard- working men, that we're willing to work, & do a job no body else is willing to do
I put out an extra bag this week and they just left it saying that I didn't identify the trash bag sitting next to my can as being from my address. I have paid for countless missed pick ups and countless times some neighbors extra bag was put on my bill. It all works out. We have bears. Lots of bears. Just pick up the trash.
They are always leaving garbage all over the ground. They take the time to grab the garbage can and throw to the ground whats on top of it. If you leave anything near the can they will leave it.
I ordered a Waste Management bagster for my renovation project. Their ad says it's usually picked up within 2-3 days. Ha! I filled it and when done I got online and ordered the pickup for 3 business days later to which Waste Management moved it back further yo 5 business days later. I thought that was ok but the day came and went with no pickup. So I called WM and was told the had a driver shortage and it wouldn't be picked up for 5 days. That day came and went too. Called again the next morning and the call taker called the dispatcher who said it would be picked up that day. It wasn't! Called again as nd by 3 different people have been promised a phone call if anything changed. Well no calls and again no truck. I'm wishing I had called one of the local scrap guys, paid less and watch my stuff heading down the road instead of sitting in front of my home for over 3 weeks now.
WM fees are killer. That is why we switched to a local trash service. I had WM for 20 years and really debated whether to switch, but the local deal was just too good. Here is the clincher. WM charged $75 for the trash can to be picked up. As they use a "3rd party". AND, then assessed fees, admin, and taxes to the tune of $52.73. Thats right, just to pick up a trash can, cost $127.73. Be warned, they are going to get their money.
Answer: Apparently it is how they conduct business by being as rude and unethical as possible. I hope they did not steal from you as well.
