The hidden fees!

My daughter and son in law got this system and they are young so they got done dirty. You think you're getting a good system till you get the bill. The equipment alone is ice $5000 and you pay the along with your monthly bill. It's 2 separate bills and you're basically paying double. Waste of money!

Buyout fake promise
June 21, 2023

Worst security company, informing people that they would purchase out the prior provider after three months, thus I had to quit VIVINT service and go back to ADT and pay a tech to reinstall cameras and thermostat. They did not keep their commitment. I squandered my time. Aside from paying for three months of double service, my house now has holes in the walls. Worst business

Horrible Company

I have been with this company for years and over the last two they have been charging me for someone else account then when they finally see that expect me to pay a past due balance even though they have been over charging me the last two years. Not to mention that when I canceled service in 2015 they continued to charge me for two extra years and never even refunded me and then states since they been over charging me again they will credit 247.06 but still haven't. The last straw is now my door lock is broke and they expect me to wait after troubleshooting for over an hour to send a new lock and then install myself. This is ridiculous and why I use COVE at my other addresses and soon will use for this one as well if they don't get their crap together. Not to mention they took the equipment I paid for out of my rental property and then want me to sign a contract for monitoring in order to replace what they stole. I'm truly over it T

A total joke...

The BBB has given them a "D" rating and there is literally over 4,000 negative complaints. I am getting spam to death by them. Everyday it's like three email advertisements and I am sick of it. Good lesson here is to always go to the BBB website and search for a company before you get involved with them. P.S. And don't message me and say you want to make things right, actions speak louder than words.

Crooks!

My contract was up in June. I emailed them on 7 Jul 22 to cancel. I complied with with their request for reasons again on 7 Jul 22. They continued to bill me and only acknowledged my request on 30 Sep 22 giving them their 30 day cancellation process plus 60 more days and who knows how many more had I not cancelled my debit card. You'll notice on the last page the date of acknowledgement. I had a feeling when I signed that this could be a bad idea, but I was shown how many people had Vivint in the neighborhood. However, their pressure techniques were Gestapo. Before I had signed, a man had gone into my house and installed everything. A 5-year contract. What was I thinking?

Vivint is a JOKE

Word of advice. Don't get Vivint. They lock you into a contract that you can't get out of. Terrible customer service. And they don't tell you that your cameras don't record 24/7, only when someone walks by. I paid for a $3k+ system that doesn't record 24/7, and they won't let me out of my contract until 2027. Oh, and if I want it to record 24/7, it'll cost me another $300. Also, no other company can hook up to their cameras, so if you cancel them, you are stuck with their equipment that you can't use. Vivint really is a JOKE. All customer service did was offer me $10 off for 5-months. Thanks Vivint. Hope you go bankrupt.

I was a customer for 13 years and they won't acknowledge my cancellation. They keep billing my card. Every person you speak to either drops the call or sends you to "customer loyalty." They offshore their support and you can't understand them. We're literally cancelling our credit card to get the charges to stop.

Garbage equipment and garbage company

The price for the equipment is outrageous, plus non of it works well. Our thermostat stat is a joke, won't stay connected to the control panel, cameras go off line and if they come out they charge $99 plus equipment. I had the control panel fall off the wall and shattered cause the guy who installed it didn't use wall anchors. They were gonna charge us for a new one so I had to file a complaint through the BBB to get it resolved. Don't waste your money I have to call our ac people to come out and install a new thermostat tomorrow

Their equipment is trash and they lack customer service. Vivint is absolutely the worst camera company that I ever experienced in my life. The company is so unprofessional and so unreliable, they set two camera appointments for me to give them the camera both times they didn't make it and made me lose out on money to sit around and wait for them to come get it and never came. First time they lied and said they rung the doorbell over and over which was again a lie: now this time I'm here waiting waiting and he can't even give me a proper explanation as to why the technicians today did not make it now he's trying to make go through this whole process again. I told him I'm not having it I'm going to put it on the balcony and they come get it from there and whatever's happens happens with it

Everything they tell you to get you to sign on for is a complete lie. You're taking advantage of they don't tell you the truth that you have to repair your own equipment over the phone. The thermostat never works and shuts off if theres an issue the worst company ever wish I'd never heard of him wish. I'd never got suckered into that contract by a complete lying salesman. I would give negative 5 stars if possible. Save yourself many many HEADACHES

Terrible

Today I received a call from them for the first time. I tried to call back. Spent an hour with automated services and was never able to get alive person on the phone to tell me why they called. After over a year with them this is the only red flag I need. They don't care about their customers and set up a system that they never have to answer questions. Canceling and getting a better security company that has more respect to the people that gives them money!

I paid off my loan and they continued to bill me constantly! I had to prove to them through paper work that I did! Now, I can't get into my security system to use it. They say if it's paid off, I can still use it without monitoring. That's just not true!

I signed with Vivint through a referral. I agreed to pay $84.96 a month but received an additional $77.00 bill for services. I tried to cancel the services as a while and was told I couldn't get out of my contract without paying off the equipment in entirely. I recommended this security company to a group of friends and I am very upset that I did. This place is an complete rip off. Stay away... choose someone else.

You will spend $2200 for a system that costs $340 through Simplisafe. I sold my house and wanted to cancel my service. They suggested just transferring the service to the new owners. The problem is, they never contacted the new owner's until almost a month after I put the transfer request in. Then told me I had to write them a notice to cancel (even though I had been requesting a cancellation for over a month at this point) and my account wouldn't be cancelled for another 30 days AFTER they accept my cancellation request. They will drag through every single hoop and I still don't have an ending in sight. Just save yourself time and money and go use someone else!

I cancel with them after 10 days, called on Friday, and today they told me I have pass the 30 days that I had to cancel, but they told me when I called that wax done!

Worst of all time

Constant problems! Faulty equipment! Cops,fire dept, show up at my house constantly! It makes all kinds of noise saying windows open door opened all kinds of stuff! I have to go check windows and doors often! I mean if I have to do all stuff why do I even need a security system! Biggest waste of money! Every who ever had this all need their money refunded!

If you want a security system that catches everything BUT people stealing from your house and yard or coming into your house unannounced, then this is the company for you!
They'll lie to you from the start about their system then blame YOU when it fails! And you'll be locked into a contract even though they tell you they don't do that to get you to sign up
I would give negative stars if possible!

They make promises and then ask you to sign. Read the very very small fine print before you sign as they swindle you immediately. Bad customer service, they lie and tell you all kinds of amazing things and then charge you up the A$$ after they tell you its all included and there will be no charges for the equipment. They will also tell you that you get a 7 day trial before being charged. False. We got this installed yesterday and we were charged last night over $2000.

Please do yourself a favor and avoid doing business with Vivint. This company lied from the beginning with their sales to the day of installation. We were charged $550 and they never disclosed any of this information prior to install. Once I asked for a timeline up to the charge, it was then revealed our contract changed after the install. Unethical and trash practice. So now we are out of $550, we have to cancel this contract because they can't be trusted. It's sad the consumer suffers because of unethical business practices.

I was shopping around, was dumb and gave them my phone number. They have not stopped calling me for days. I keep blocking numbers and they keep calling from the zip code my phone is registered. I legit may have to change phone numbers. Avoid at all costs, this feels like what I imagine a MM scam or a timeshare call cycle feels like.
