I was shopping around, was dumb and gave them my phone number. They have not stopped calling me for days. I keep blocking numbers and they keep calling from the zip code my phone is registered. I legit may have to change phone numbers. Avoid at all costs, this feels like what I imagine a MM scam or a timeshare call cycle feels like.
My panel was arming itself. I could not disarm it. Called support. Rebooted panel. Same issue. Tech had me remove screw from top of panel to manually power cycle it... he wanted me to remove battery. This set the alarm off. I removed the wire from the battery but alarm was still going off. I'm screaming at him over the phone to shut it off and he was screaming back at me to unplug the battery... which I had already done. Finally the idiot rebooted the panel. Got supervisor on phone. I told her we wanted to cancel our service. Got passed to two cancellation people. I'm not using the panel yet they want to charge us till the end of our billing cycle due to the fact that I did not given them 30 days notice in writing. Absolute bull$#*!. Every time there is a problem with this panel they expect us to be technicians. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE.
Can never view my cameras from my phone even with the WiFi on. The main panel loads about as well as my phone. What is the point of a security system if you can't see who or what is in them? Not worth the money. I will be going with a different company!
I contacted Vivint to provide security for my commercial building. The representative assured me that Vivint provided commercial security to large buildings. They charged me the fee to sign on to their service, even before they came to see the site. On the day of the install, the rep looked around and told me we were too big and complex for them. They could not execute the job, having wasted several hours of my morning looking around. I then tried to call to get a refund. Went through several phone numbers, many of which were dead ends. On the last call, I got a rep who was working from home with a very loud baby talking constantly into the phone. I thought I had a wrong number at first. In any case, we managed to make it through the call in spite of the baby's interruptions. Seriously, Vivint, are you are real company with real professionals who know what they are doing? You are a joke!
I have had vivint for years with the system you are able to remotely set the system, arm delay or arm no delay meaning if your door is opened one way allows a 45 sec. Delay before the actual alarm goes off.The other way (no delay) the full alert alarm goes off the second the door is breached. It use to either system could be set via remote ( by phone)
With the new system that can't be done it can only be set one way - delay which means a person now has 45 sec to be in your home before the alarm goes off
To notify vivint there has been an intrusion.
The home owner should have the choice of how they set the system, by panel or remotely, now the only way to have that control is from the panel.
I had a Vivint security system in my new home, left over from the previous owner. The alarm kept going off and I didn't have the password! Then I tried to unmount and disable it, but alarm got even louder. F***ing customer service just told me to look it up online how to disable. F**ing B
Vivint is the one of the worst companies to do business with. The salesman is a liar and says whatever he needs to say to get the sale. Consumer, please read the fine print and make sure you get buyout quotes in writing. I went through too many hoops to get my service cancelled. On top this they had me waiting with a 4 hour window and they never showed up or called to let me know they weren't coming. This is by far the worst customer service and experience. Please do your home work and make sure know what you are getting into.
The sales person actually lied to us and said that we could cancel within 30 days... Now I'm trapped in a contract. The sales person is now lying about our sales transaction. His name is Juan Gomez. He doesn't answer when we call and he has mislead us into a $3000.00 loss...
I had Vivint service without contract, my alarm system needed a new sensor for my door. I had been with the company for 15 years and Vivint didn't want to help me until I sent the cancellation and they said first yes for the free sensor and a monthly discount if I stayed with them, but the technician wanted to charge me $50, so I declined the installation and I sent the second note of cancellation for good, because they didn't honor their offer. Then I received a note that my bill for $55 is with a collection agency. Very bad company, I won't never recommend it!
I was a new homeowner when I was pressured into signing a contract with this company...what a mistake.
The good: The do provide the service they are marketing, and will contact proper authorities in the event of a fire or break-in.
The bad: There are more affordable companies with the same service. Moreover, when you sign a contract with them they will make it extremely difficult to leave within a five year term, and completely paying off the loan with Citizens for the equipment provided. Also, they will continue to invoice you whether or not they can bill your card...if you've had your information stolen (my case) they will continue to bill anyway, all while your monitor system endlessly goes off.
I had them install and for 5 months the system kept dropping off the cellular and panel did not work. I went through hell and they want me to pay for the monthly fees and are trying to hold me responsible to pay for the entire 3 year contract when their system does not work. The technician didn't show up 3 times when they scheduled to come to my house. I took time off from work and they didn't show.
I called them and they continue giving me the runaround.
Save your money and go with ADT or another reliable company. If you google this company you will see that they use search engine tactics to hide their lawsuits and bad BBB reviews.
This has officially been he worst company I have EVER dealt with.
Horrible experience with this company. I have been with vivint for a few years, during the first contract everything seemed great. I never really needed the customer service, when it was time to renew a rep contacted me informing that I was eligible for a free upgrade. The rep was wrong and I was not informed I would receive a HUGE bill afterwards. I discussed this with many other reps and no solution was made. Not only did get an unexpected bill, but also was stuck into a new contract that could not be canceled unless paid in full plus the upgraded fees. I have never had such a terrible experience with a company like vivint. The only solution I was given was to reduce my bill by referring a friend to vivint...why would I refer someone to this type of service?
The camera didn't work after 4 tech visits trying to troubleshoot. During this period, burglaries occurred at my home and these events were not recorded.
Vivint refused to cancel my contract on both the equipment and the service and now I'm up a creek on payments for service I can't use. Congratulations Vivint, you got me to sign a contract and lock me in for the most fruitless investment of my life.
If there is a problem with your cameras and system they will charge you a fee each time a technician is sent to your house of $99.99. But don't worry, for a low price of $9.99 a month you can get a protection plan and they come out to fix any issues without a fee.*eyeroll* (that is the fee, and I'll be paying more in a long run) they should've said that in the beginning. I would not have bought this security system.
I had a salesman come to my house I told him I didn't wanna be bothered. He's made her several times but my husband just died so I let him get a sale through my mother and everything. He told us was a lie. I've called several times and they will not fix it, even though I basically was scammed which the representative informed me.
Deceitful company. I had the video playback promotion. I went on the Vivint website and canceled. I did not receive any conformation, minus the website now having the playback subscription under canceled subscriptions. A few weeks later I received an email saying my video playback subscription had been renewed. I again canceled on the Vivint website and took a screen shot this time. I called today when I noticed I was being billed for the subscription I had canceled twice. Vivint gave me the run around and transferred me three times. They finally canceled my subscription, but refused to clear the charges. Beware, do not get in a contract with this company. They will waste your time and money.
Paid for their equipment and had given our "yes" on their prompts while tech was standing next to me, I advised I wanted them to know I was paying in full for equipment and therefore wanted them to be aware. He said just continue talking when the prompts are complete. I did, don't think it recorded anything, in fact, it didn't so it was his word over mine.
However I did have the payment on my CC card, they said that was for the monthly monitoring fee and not for equipment!
I have several Vivint systems in several of our AirBnB locations. I wish I had never started with Vivint, it's way more expensive to change everything. Vivint is extremely difficult to deal with, their tech is ok but their internal communication systems are terrible and their employees have no idea how to navigate their system to help the customer. I had a tech come out to a duplex where we have 2 Vivint systems. He couldn't fix the one that was broken because he had a "ticket" for the other one. He's literally standing there but can't work on the equipment because of his company's poor approach to workflow. If you call their customer support, plan to be on the phone for at least 45 minutes. It seems like the culture at Vivint is generally incompetent and bare minimum mindset.
I have been using Vivint since June 2022. The sale guy was great but did not tell me anything that was actually useful. The salesperson told me that I would be able to cancel at any time without any fees. I have been trying to cancel for 3 months now. I don't even live in the home anymore. They are refusing to cancel my account until I pay 52 months of monitoring and pay off the equipment. I was never told this when I got the vivint equipment. I'm sorry but I do not have $4500 laying around to pay to a company of frauds. I told them they would not be receiving payments from me and they told me that collections would be calling and it will ruin my credit score. They said I had to pay the amount in while to get my equipment canceled. Horrible people to talk to and are absolutely no help when you call and talk to someone.
I asked for some pricing information. When they said I would need to give them my social security number before any info was given to me I refused to provide the info. Then asked to be taken off of the contact list. I have received many calls and forms of contact since from Robert, Nate, Mike, and Monica. It total I have been asked to be taken off of their list 6 times and I'm still being contacted.
Answer: No my car got broken into in my driveway and they said their systems were down during that time and were unable to retrieve footage.
