Purchase the vivint system in 2018.
Should have checked out reviews for them, but I listened to the salesman instead.
Service was less than good.
But I had to pay off the equipment that was purchased to have their service. I was told once the equipment was paid off, my contract would be on a month to month basis.
I paid the equipment off early and decided to retire at the end of the year 2022.
I am now trying to close out the account with Vivint and have been told that I still have 6 months left on a 5 year contract. And if I will pay $124.41 they will close out the contract.
Seems like Vivint is part of this despicable "Woke" culture that has invaded our country!
Cameras installed less than a year ago and have had several issues with the cameras. The "warranty" fee that they charge does not cover if the cameras go out for technical issues. If you're unable to resolve by yourself with someone on the phone, a tech visit is $100 a pop. Garbage service on a system installed less than year.
Please don't sign up with this service by far it's the worst I've ever had to deal with cameras stop working they don't record everything they go off when nothing is around they charge $99 dollars to have a technician go out to your home for malfunctioning cameras if the troubleshooting doesn't work it's always reoccurring issues constantly Compromising safety with the none working cameras and you still have to pay a monthly fee for this BS to continue to happen I wish i never got this service it's so horrible. Hope this helps it's an honest review their customer service is not friendly or helpful.
My elderly aunt and uncle in their 80's paid on the equipment for 2 years then moved into a nursing home. Vivint said they had to pay off $1400+ for equipment before canceling the service. They did this. Once the service was canceled, they have continued to be charged for the past 5 months. Terrible company that took advantage of elderly on so many levels: first telling them they needed to finance to build up their credit rating (at 85 and 86 years old) to refusing to stop billing them when services have been canceled.
I live In jenks ok
Do not use those companies the doesn't have costumer service, after bugging them to come fix my cameras they told me for them to come it's $100 I agree it's over 3 months cameras not working and I'm making payments. This is a b*sht Vivint services
Horrid company. 'Installed' in July. Never worked. Failed to hardwire cameras etc. Been trying since, I am an attorney luckily, and plan to file suit. If any others want to try to make it a class action, let me know. Email is *******@me.com. (My company). I will be filing this month
We sold our home. The new owner was going to take over the exiting contract, which had 11 months left. Vivint said that all we had to do is pay off the remainder for the equipment ($395.00) and a $99 fee if the new owners were going to take over.
We paid the $393 for the equipment.
Next month comes around and we're still being charged for the remainder of the contract.
I called Vivint and said that the new owner took more than 3 days to do the transfer so they were not available for the transfer and now have to continue to pay for the remainder of the original contract. Their confirmation does not say anything about a timeline for the person taking over to get in contact with them. It only states that until they finalize their account transfers.
They new owner is now stuck with a 5 year contract that overlaps mine for one year.
The actual worst company to ever exist. They allow two accounts apparently to be opened for the same equipment in the same address, and if your account is closed but you owe them money, as soon as you pay them the money, they reopen your account and charge you each month without your knowledge! Then they want you to pay them more money to close it, worst experience I've ever had with a company in my life.
Vivant must understand that they are obligated to be honest, even if we sign their contracts. Revoking access to my purchased equipment should be an unlawful action. I bought their Alarm Monitoring Services and paid $1000's for their equipment (sensors, camera, light, locks, and much more). When I cancelled their monitoring services, they blocked my access to the phone APP that controls all my purchased equipment. I still have access from my panel; however, that is not how they sold me on their home automation. Alarm companies provide a service of Alarm monitoring ONLY and will sell you additional convenience products for home automation. I assumed similar to what I would purchase at Costco. Their core service is Alarm Monitoring only. By choosing to block my access to my purchased products, this action destroys their value.
This needs to be recognized as not legal and brought to court. They need to be stopped.
I do not recommend them.
Someone rings my doorbell and about4 minutes later the app notifies me then takes about 3 minutes to load the video. This company is garbage and their products are horrible. App works some of the time get the grey login screen and wait and wait and wait so i just go to my front door and punch in the code. Very bad do not buy!
Equipment is pricey. Customer service is terrible. They must use foreign call centers. They need to find some people that can speak and understand the English language. One rep told me my replacement door sensor was shipped a month ago, never got it. Cherri (CSR) says go check your post office. I called back and spoke to another person she says the sensor wasn't shipped then she says oh it was delivered a month ago. No it wasn't. I guess no notes are captured and recorded, nobody has a clue what's going on. I don't recommend Vivint.
All my security companies I have had over the past 40 years provide multiple panels and sirens typically at your entrance and your primary bedroom. Vivint does not provide this, in fact you can not hear the siren anywhere on the second floor or basement. They require you to buy multiple systems which is absolutely ridicous and unique to Vivint this needs to change or I will need to change my security company.
I have had the Vivint system for only a few months. Since the cameras were installed, they have gone offline at least every two months and are nonfunctional until a technician comes out to repair at a cost of $99 per visit. None of the so-called troubleshooting works. There is no alert that a camera is offline from either the app, the panel or the company. No issues with home electrical system or the internet, so why the system fails is a mystery. The company now offers a "protection plan" at $9.99 per month that offers the "benefit" of having a technician come out at no cost. At a cost of $120 per year, to fix their faulty equipment and connection, this seems predatory to me. At this point, I am essentially paying for nothing because I refuse to pay repeatedly for a technician to visit and I'm locked into a contract. I do not recommend this company or its products.
We have been with Vivint for 10 years. Our contract was done in May 2022. I called to close our account in June. They didn't close the account and continued charging our account every month. Every time I call to close the account they say they have no record of me closing it, even though I have the paper trail. They have stolen money from us for 7 months! Despicable service!
They trick you into the equipment and if you don't cancel with a written cancelation you will owe the 4,000 dollars on the equipment because it's a loan threw a bank. I sent the form to them via email and they still screwed me and now I have a 66.00 per month payment or i will default on a loan and get bad credit and collections. And the service is spotty at best
Terrible customer service and equipment, the technician will not show up for appointments when you complain and get a new appointment to ask they not send the original technician, and they do any.
Found out when getting a new system, half the sensors had not been working, including the fire break, which was to alert the company of the fire.
The cameras did not work; they only recorded after someone left the room.
Then when canceling the charge for an entire month after you put your request in.
So Vivint came out and added a tilt sensor to my alarm which was fine everything worked as it should. The sensor failed just recently, and they are stating it was a third-party sensor and they can't replace it. So, the techs are just putting in third party sensor now, so they don't have to replace it on their dime.
Had them for several years, but finally decided to go with a different company. Called them to cancel and after they said they canceled, they kept taking the monthly fee out of my checking account. After additional efforts to cancel, I wound up closing that account add going to a new bank. Several months later, they called and said they could not access my account for payment and I owed them. Just to get rid of them, I offered to pay by credit card, but they said the only acceptable payment would be a bank withdrawal and wanted my new routing and account number. No way I was falling for that again. Now they are trying to go through collections. Getting a lawyer.
Alec S, the rep in the north Texas area, slammed us with a contract when we upgraded our equipment. He didn't tell us this and clicked through all the screens without us reading them. Complete fraud. He only told us the equipment cost and didn't tell us it was a 5 year renewal. Now we are moving and found this out that you cannot cancel that contract.
I tried to trigger the sensors on purpose and they don't work 100% of the time. The other problem that I was having was time delay. I get notification of incidents after it is too late. The other problem is cancellation. Calling and canceling is difficult with Vivint even if you have month to months contract.
Answer: No my car got broken into in my driveway and they said their systems were down during that time and were unable to retrieve footage.
