I applied for an appraisal on December 1,2016. I gave my info and uploaded pics. I paid through Paypal. They got my $15 and never responded at all! When I pull up my account on the website, it shows I have a credit, but I never heard from them. I thought about contacting Paypal to try getting the money back. I wonder how many people they do this to?
Mostly very good and profound appraisals. Thus once an appraisal that didn't meet the standard. But is an exception.
As I said above, some experts are very good others less. There are times when I am not satisfied but overall I can get good indications of the value of the items and that's fine. If there are problems one can always contact your very helpful customer service.
Thank you for your feedback Silvana. Please be assured all of our specialists have many years experience, but some are more loquacious than others.
Please do always contact us at Info@valuemystuff.com if we may ever be of any service to you.

I am quite surprised at the valuation. We paid CHF 3600 for that piece and the expert valued it at CHF 600-800. I have my doubts.
Valuemystuff offered a great service in valuing a number of items I have possession of. The site is easy and simple to use, very good value and the customer support when I had a query were very helpful. Would recommend.
The process of describing my artwork on the website for valuation was very easy to follow.
Payment was also easy and purchasing credits made it economical for multiple items. I was impressed with how in depth the appraisal certificate was.
Thank you for your kind feedback Jenifer. We are pleased you found the service so easy to use and were able to take advantage of our bulk purchase discount.

I had my jewelleries valued by this company and I was very impressed with how quick the service was.
Unfortunately, a few months down the line I tried to make a claim on my insurance for one of the items.
That was when I found out that they had grossly undervalued my jewellery. I spoke to their customer service and they refused to help.
They said to me that their t&cs clearly state that their valuations are only an indication and should not be relied upon.
Can you believe it? Their website clearly states that their valuation can be used for insurance purposes, amongst others. Yet they have added to their t&cs, hidden away, that it's all lies.
I found ValueMyStuff online as I could not locate any info on a doll I purchased at a swapmeet. The form I had to fill out was easy, uploading pictures was easy as well. They did what they said they would do; I received the information I was looking for within 48 hours. They were precise, explained things to me I did not no, and on top of all that, I think their prices are very reasonable. I will definitely use them again.
I found the response and appraisal to be thoughtful and very expedient. It was clear how well-versed the appraiser was in their specific area of expertise, snd I felt that great care was taken in assessing my object. I would not hesitate to use valuemystuff for future appraisals.
I recently had a historic military watch valued by Value my stuff, I received my valuation within 48 hours and was astounded about the level of detail that the expert had gone into. I will definitely use the service again!
I had had the watch valued because I was unsure of what it was worth and if it was necessary to have it restored if I were to sell it. The expert was not only able to give me all of the technical details about the watch but also made several practical suggestions on how much I should spend for restoration. I was also given a price for sale at auction and an insurance value, alongside the estimate I was given several links to sale record of other watches that had sold recently for similar prices. I really felt that the expert had a genuine interest in discovering all he could about my watch.
Dont let other reviews put you off their services is excellent!
Hi Teo, thanks for your kind feedback! We'll forward your comment onto our watch specialist and hope we can be of some assistance to you again in the future:-)
A detailed appraisal on the Jade I wanted to have appraised and received as quickly as they said it would
In 2019 VMS relaunched their homepage with the effect that all previous pictures that you tediously selected via customer service was changed. Some pictures doesn't even show up on the new web. In febr 2020 I asked about this issue and I got this reply "Once we have resolved the issue with the images, we should be able to select the principle image on the report for you". Another YEAR has passed and still no resolution...
Hi Anders,
As you have been notified in previous correspondence with us, we are not taking your case any further. We have answered all of your questions, offered solutions, explanations, credits, and a refund; these you have declined, preferring instead to post rather one-sided, negative reviews. Whilst we are disappointed we have not been able to restore your faith in the integrity of our service, we wish you all the best with selling your items.
We have hundreds of satisfied customers each week, it is regrettable we could not work together to resolve your issues.
This will be our last message, and we respectfully suggest you also cease communication to avoid taking up any more of your valuable time.
Regards,
VMS
I asked the head of client service about an Omega watch valuations they did for me in January 2020, which I felt was slightly awkward. Her response was "I am able to offer my assurance that the Watch specialist who appraised the watches has a worldwide reputation, whose opinion can be entirely relied upon. He has offered his opinion as to the value of the watches, it is up to you whether you accept that or not. All of our specialists have many years experience and complete test appraisals as part of our recruitment process. We are confident in the expertise and ability of all of our specialists."
She also informed me that they just hired a new watch "expert", so in February 2020, to investigate the validity of her words, I submitted the same watch again but now to the new "expert". The difference in value between two experts who must have done the test appraisal and apparently have been found fit for the job was a factor of six times. See copy from the valuations.
The same watch - two different "experts". You would think they use the test appraisal to Quality Assure the different "experts"
If you are a watch collector, judge yourself. What's the biggest difference in value between different experts you have seen for the same watch within a timeframe of one month?
I don't know if I got an accurate report, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. What I am certain I did get is a rude report. I didn't know anything about this item:
"The drawers on such a tansu are often lined in kiri wood but the owner has not seen fit to provide any photographs of the interior."
Rude, rude, rude.
Hi Joanna,
We are so sorry to hear about your report and agree that the language used is inappropriate. We work with a large number of specialists who vary in their cataloguing, and usually, we carefully edit each report to ensure it aligns with our company style and values. This report must have slipped through the net, although we appreciate that this is no excuse.
Please do contact me directly, either by a direct message on Sitejabber or via email (charlotte@valuemystuff.com) with your valuation ID so that I can address the matter.
Many thanks
Charlotte

This was my first time using Value My Stuff and I was very pleased with this experience. The report was delivered within the 48 hour timeframe as promised. It was very detailed and comprehensive in its explanation of my piece. The valuation was fair and I completely trust the analysis given on my item. I would definitely use this service again.
Thank you for your positive feedback Leslie. We are delighted to have been of such satisfactory service and hope to work with you again.

The application process is fairly straightforward, but it was difficult to initially log in.
The experience was just fine. I disagree with the valuation though. The desk was bought for $1,000 back in 1974 or so by my father. I find it difficult to believe that it was valuated at a max of 600 GBP which is under $1,000 that he paid 50 years prior. Granted it is not an antique but find it challenging to believe it went down in value over 50 years.
Valuation had no meaningful research or history included. It listed the valuation, insurance value and a googled like description of what I sent in. I didn't care about the value as much as I hoped for some info on the history. Not worth it.
Thank you for your feedback Paul, we are sorry you are disappointed with our appraisal.
Our service is to Value Your Stuff. While we will always try to incorporate some interesting information on each item we appraise, we do not provide research valuations. These are available from other service providers at significantly greater cost than our modest fee.
We hope this provides you with some further insight into our service. We will also contact you privately by email.

Quick and easy process. Provided good detailed information about my Louis XVI style settee. Will definitely use them again.
The description was lacking in content and the appraiser said it was white soapstone which it definitely was not. I agree that it was not any type of jade, but am quite familiar with soapstone and this was not that. Would not waste my money again on this site. No secondary questions to ascertain more information...
We had an item that we purchased at a charity event. Years later, we decided to sell the item and asked ValueMyStuff to look at it. As it turns out, what we bought was not what we were told it was. Ouch.
The staff at ValuMyStuff took the time to educate us on why they declined to place a value on the item, along with responding to our inquiries after the fact about how to best address the current situation.
While it hurts to spend money on items that are not authentic (even though we received two certificates of authenticity), it prevented us from reselling an item that was a forgery.
I will trust them again in the future.
The online forms to fill out for an evaluation were straightforward and easy to complete, along with uploading photos. I was hoping to receive back a little more detail and history on the piece, since there were still labels with ID numbers and Inspection Plant numbers attached. For example what year it was made, and where. Or a weblink to go to for more information on Drexel Furniture.
Thank you for your positive feedback Barbara. We have contacted the specialist and asked if he is able to share any further insight into your furniture. We will be in touch again via email as soon as we have heard from him.

I usually have no problems, and hope though that the pics i submit the appraiser sees in full dimensions and not little squares for no camera I have ever had takes anything but rectangles and the pics are focused for that format.
I am delighted to have this service and gradually with a little practice can find my way around the site and follow-up effectively. I am pleased I purchased a few extra credits a few years ago and also thus saved a few cents.
I have used this site over the years several times and look forward though to added info an appraiser can offer, not just a value. Luckily I was able to find how to view the compete dertificate once I knew how to get there on site...one can get a little lost on sites for there are changes over time and one is not in the know at first. Look forward to having more appraisals in future.
Was able to get through with my password and such this time easily and hope that the results I get have some informative elaboration and information as they used to years ago. Sometimes in recent appraisals I have been most disappointed by the lack of new and fuller information, but I value the expertise and convenience this site has offered me.
There seem to be changes but I manage to get through anyway...have not used for a while and hope this will work out for me properly this time.
A previous time I was most disappointed in the scanty information I received back, for they only repeated the information I submitted. Your people used to be more informative and thorough. This recent time I was pleased to discover the value but would have perhaps appreciated some more related information embellishment be offered.
