I started working on Upwork a year ago and I couldn't be happier. The amount of job offers is really good, and their support team is top notch. My profile and income scaled substantially since I started. Best freelancing site ever.
It has been just a month, I started working on Upwork. Working on this site for a month, I had noticed that Upwork allows the clients and freelancers to have a business relationship easily. It's what makes this site, one of the leading freelancing sites in the whole world.
It is an amazing platform, l am working in Upwork since 3 years and l am planning to continue.
It has sincere clients that pay on time. It is very secure not like the other platforms that are full of spams.
Excellent platform, many clients, there are no problems with payments, I don't like only a large commission for transactions, and it is annoying that the commission is removed from bonuses, I don't understand this... the commission for the transaction is ok, they make the work safe and take a percentage for this, but when the client decided to thank me and gave a bonus, why should I give a percentage for this?
Its a great platform to choose the freelancing business. It's been more than 6 years since I joined upwork and I am getting projects continuously. I worked with the clients from all over the world. I highly recommend upwork.
Upwork is a complete joke for a freelance site. If you were banned by them, they did you a BIG favor and saved you from lots of future grief and possibly financial theft.
There are many more opportunities out there for freelance work and you can make more than 2.50/hour that represent the bulk of jobs on upwork!
I find it amusing that they are banning users from various 3rd world countries and their whole outfit is outsourced from 3rd word countries! Whomever took control of this lame site from elance, which was very good freelancer site, is a complete idiot and will turn this freelance site into fail mode. I pity their shareholders.

The platform is great, usual friendly and also ensures client and freelancers gets excellent customer service. The only issue is that number of connect required for job application is too high as you have to pay for the connect.

Upwork is a great tool to make some extra cash on the side. All fees are upfront. Prepare yourself... you need to build your profile and do a handful of jobs before you get a proper rating. So do all sorts of quick and cheap jobs to start with to earn yourself a rating so that you can secure bigger tasks
It takes me all the way from finding a job that's appropriate for me, messages, calls, and the payment platform is the best. You can track your pay all the way from escrow to in the bank. Very easy to use and I've tried a couple of others and they're confusing.
Actually, I found Upwork Really awesome the website overlay is awesome and relaxing!
The customer service is impressive they are helpful and kind.
I'm now a rising talent I have a great passion to build my own business and become a top-rated freelancer and change my life!

If you are a vendor or service provider, be sure you keep your hands safe. Specially if you are a non-US vendor. Elance only hears Americans, No matter who is at fault. If you run into a dispute, they will immediately give your funds to the buyer without asking you, even if they ask, they will end up with the victory of the buyer.
Other than that, its a good place to get projects, just be careful.
Upwork helped me grow as a freelancer and is one of the best platforms to work.
I have experience with other platforms, but Upwork has a lot more resources and help for the freelancer.

I have tried a few ways of doing freelancing online, by far upwork is the best platform. The staff is very supportive and willing to help freelancers with any trouble we face on the platform. The system is secure and tight, so as long as we follow the TOS, we will be safe and thrive. Keep up the good work!
There should be a no star option for this trash site. They DO NOT vet the jobs posted by the employers. So the site is FULL of scammers. They do however go overboard scrutinizing the freelancers to the point of stripping away any privacy.

Upwork. It changed my life! I have been a freelance graphic designer, website designer and illustrator for over a decade. I had worked long hours, had issues with payments from clients and was ready to throw in the towel when it was suggested that I register with Upwork. Their platform is amazing, their support is unrivaled and they actually do listen to (and apply) suggestions that are vocalised. I have received every payment and know that their legal team is ready to mediate should I need them (thankfully this hasn't been the case, but I know they are there)... Highly recommended!
It is great concept working well but the website is super slow and buggy. Messages are not loading sometimes not possible to close contract. It is just frozen. Fees are another topic. It cuts 20% fee... (top of it you need to pay tax etc half of the money you are earning is just gone) And it is asking to buy premium membership. And buy connects etc. They should really consider to drop fees if they want to attract or not lose good developers.
