Upwork is a reliable site for looking for talent. It is also a website that guarantees the safety of these freelancers. Upwork helps freelancers and employers to achieve their goal with ease. In any case, as a freelancer, upwork allowed me to achieve what I was aiming for in 3 years.
I have been working with upwork more than 7 years. I believe this is the best online marketplace now a days. You can find out long term or short term contract from here. I have completed *******+ hours successfully in upwork. I believe this is just beginning for me. Thanks upwork for supporting us and to create a fantastic platform.
It's a great place to find work for freelancers. In the initial days, things might be a bit slow but as you keep applying for jobs your presence will increase and you will start getting a good quality of work and everyone knows that with quality comes money :)
I've been working on upwork for a long time (since it was an Odesk).
I was excited when they moved to a new domain upwork.com. I hoped that it will improve some small issues that Odesk had. But unfortunately, when I started using the new site, it became the worst experience working with a freelance platforms.
Guys trying everyday to improve the site usage but I'm not sure when they will get success.
Anyway, there are a lot of good specialist on the site.
I've used both sides of Upwork, as a freelancer and as a client hiring other freelancers. I can tell you from first hand experience Upwork creates an extremely helpful marketplace that is able to actually connect talent with clients who are looking for work. With the pandemic fueling remote based work, I saw that Upwork became even more in-demand and the opportunities are flowing. I encourage everyone to give it a try whether you want to build a side-hustle or a full-time income. OR... if you have a business and need to hire a freelancer to help you with your project, give it a shot!
I was a freelancer here since it was called oDesk.
Over the years, as both the freelancer and client markets expanded it became harder to find quality work. Despite that it remains a good platform to get your start in the industry. Yes, it's brutal to both clients and freelancers. If you put in the necessary hard work, you'll see growth and success.
Whether the platform works for you or not is all up to how much effort you put in to it.
I was doing quite well on upwork, then one day a client's payment didn't go through. Both my account and the client's account was suspended. Now I don't have any access to my funds (still don't up to this day) just because a client screwed up!
They really take long to reply every time I ask them how the investigation is going; and even then they just reply "We're still looking into it".
Rather just stay away!
Sure it is not perfect, but this is the only site that I actually make money. They are the number one freelancing website. Other sites have bad UI and it is hard to find clients and clients cant find you. In upwork I had many clients and the money can be good if you do hard work. I never really encounter frauds because they have a system where clients fund the contract before you even get started.
Upwork is an awesome platform for freelancers. I have got excellent clients and earned good money. It is very secure and safe. It guarantees to get paid for the hours on the hourly contracts and have a escrow for fixed contracts also. Overall wonderful experience and I am growing day by day. Thank you Upwork!
Upwork is the best freelancing platform because it takes care of both the freelancers and the clients. Client satisfaction is of utmost importance but freelancers are important too and upwork understands that. They treat the clients and the freelancers equally and with respect and that's what makes them stand out from the rest. I'm thankful to upwork for creating this platform which has given a lot of opportunity to many freelancers like me.
Upwork is the best place for freelancers to find solid and consistent work. I was skeptical at the outset, but now having worked for a few businesses through the site I would suggest anyone interested in freelancing try their hand at Upwork.
In good faith I started a design project on upwork and deposited money into an escrow account with them. I told designer that I was entering my busy season and if we did not get it done before then I may have to put it on hold. The work was not completed before our seasonal slam on my other business, so I left the money in escrow thinking I could pick up project again in a month or two when things slowed down. When I went back into upwork a month later, my escrow money was stolen, given to the designer for a project they never even completed. $350 that I thought was going to be sitting there to be spent on my project and it's gone. Live and learn, will never deal with upwork again.
After spending months of researching to find good platform to work remote, I found Upwork, with monthly 30M+ active users, this is best place for Freelancers and Clients. Very helpful support team, and easy to use web site and desktop application.
My work was really good and I got some jobs and got rewarded for that. But Upwork customer service sucks and they are very blunt on your face and don't even reply to your mails or give solutions or help you to improve.
Better be helpful to people, who are in need.
Good luck.
What a total waste of space on the internet. A curated club of self proclaimed professionals. With a site that only serves to profit off the skills of others. Not cool enough? Then good luck getting on. They only want people who will make them money. They do not care about the actual work.
As a freelancer architect on Upwork. I bet that Upwork is the pioneer of the digital world, both saving your rights and enabling you to get a variety of jobs. They are also being selective while they pick the freelancers to give clients the best results. As soon as I became a member of Upwork I got a render job. I am highly happy for being a part of the Upwork world.
I've been a member of Upwork since 2016. I've watched it evolve into something different than what it started. It still isn't exactly user-friendly. It isn't friendly to freelancers. It caters to people willing to spend money on the site. They take a lion's share of the profits from each freelancer. Be prepared for what you get when you're dealing with the site. They don't make themselves readily available and if you got a problem it will take you forever to navigate through the site to get results. You likely won't be happy with what you get when you're finished. However, the site has allowed me to connect with some top-notch clients and make a modest living working as a full-time ghostwriter.
Disable your profile with unknown reason when you get some work. This is Time Waste for freelancer to start work in from now 2018 -2019 onwards.
Support Team is Useless, Does not give 1% of support to you. For Them freelancer are waste person on earth.and they treated in same way.
I think joining Upwork was the best decision of my life. In 2017... as since then I never looked back for any of the corporate jobs or alternate source of income. I am growing day by day. And I am sure a lot more is there to learn unlearn and relearn.
I've tried other platforms but Upwork turned out to be the platform I could make a living out of. I believe this is thanks to the quality maintained by Upwork getting proactively involved in rewarding the freelancers showing good performance to their clients, and vice versa kicking out the spam/fake freelancers that only become a nuisance to clients and good freelancers alike.
This "quality assurance" bundled with frequently updated features provided by Upwork to freelancers and clients seems to enable an admirably solid environment for the two parties to connect.
Answer: They are horrible. Every freelancer I've gotten from Upwork has cost me more to fix the small job they have done. There's absolutely no customer service! I would stay away
Answer: This is not the place to inquire.
Answer: No, just 20% of your job when we talk about fixed price, and same for hourly but after some week it's been 10%
Answer: Go to Settings › Contact Info › Click the Close my account link. If you meet the requirements, click the button to confirm that you want to close your account.
Answer: I am a customer and have had a really horrible experience. Upwork claims a 100% guarantee before you pay anything. That is not true. The process is actually quite horrible. You put money in escrow. You only get your money back after a bad contract if the freelancer agrees to release the money. If the freelancer refuses, you get a bargain offer to still pay them something but still you are paying for a bad job you can't use. Then, if you refuse to bargain over a bad job, you are told that it will cost you an additional $389 to arbitrate with a 3rd party affiliate that the customer (me), the freelancer (scammer) and Upwork (ripoff enabler) has to pay. I took it all the way to arbitration with the end result being that Upwork decided that I was just too uninformed to know their policy and that they would give me a one time only refund of my original amount. What they didn't tell me what that they just gave me a "credit" of my original amount and that was the end. So I am still out the original amount and can't get my money back. This sight is a ripoff. Plain and simple.
Answer: Because of their policy changes which are geared towards the client rather than the freelancer. They have dug their own grave with their policy changes of late.
Answer: Go to Get Paid on PC or Mobile, you will see 3 dots in front of your payment method, tap to select edit/remove to change them. Go to Billing Method on PC under Billing Section and tap three dots to change (edit/remove). Thanks
Answer: Be part and see, dont look at the sold mine reviews people, upwork can bush you to reach.
Answer: I agree with Sam. This place is a scam. They have bad reviews everywhere. Katrina is probably working for them!
Upwork has a rating of 2.3 stars from 2,123 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Upwork most frequently mention customer service, credit card and job success. Upwork ranks 7th among Freelancing sites.
