This is terrible service. I took a yearly subscription because I saw an advertisement on the site that they had a video on how to play the song I wanted. After I paid, the video disappeared, and support sent me to the course page and no longer contacts me. As well as return my money.
Ultimate guitar sent me a basic message that they send everybody trying to make them look right but their scammers. They told me they didn't have a 30.99 trial run. The thing is the $30.99 was in the same square box that other prices where for trials
but I checked the $30.99 box so their liars. And just to say if it wasn't there why did the still take $30.99 out of my bank account THEIR LIARS. Glad I paid through pay pal. I contacted pay pal they reviewed my case and confirmed I won my case and received my money back. So you tell me who the liar is. In ultimate guitar reply to me they said you can still get the guitar pro tabs for free, but it's not true you still have to sign up with your credit card to get a free trial to receive the few tabs they have. Ultimate guitar are legal scammers because they have their loop holes around the law. If their so good and right all the time of what they say why on this website and others there are so many complaints from so many people complaining about the same thing, REALLY. Do not use this ULTIMATE GUITAR WEBSITE. Take care consumer's watch all websites and watch your trust. Remember they just want your Money. 1 star cause I had to to send this message or I would give notting
I live in Canada, thought I"d try their free trial for 1 month for $30.99 now! Since about 2006 you had to pay for the structure of guitar pro 5 the songs we're free then, now the mighty dollar has taken over. It's been years when I used to go on and get guitar pro tabs songs for free I must have 70 of them still on the old guitar pro. So getting back to this subscription stuff I went to down load the Guitar Pro 5 song Dust on the Bottle 20 minutes after I sighed up it said file not found Abort, it said. I go to another song same thing happened. So I e-mailed and got an email from Emma she said" I sighed up for a year for $124.99 and there was no trial run for 30 days at $30.99. So anyways as you all know we all pressed the button we wanted.
And not for a year subscription as they say. The way they set up their free subscription are developed to suck us all in and then it's a Hassel to get through to them and their lies. They come on line to say their sorry and go to our web site we'll try and help but they won't help they just say that in the reviews to make people think their gonna help, but believe it they won't help they'll just lie and lie and lie these are why their scammers and try to bill you every month, let me say that one more time pay every month. So call pay pal your bank or what ever you used to sigh up with them if not they'll rip you off. Believe this please. And I will also say I gave her some choice words for lying to me but I loved it, for that's all I could do but they won't get a second month from me. Its the 30.99 a little bit that bugs me but It's sadder when you give trust snd then you find out they had no trust to begin with. Take care all be safe and watch your trust. And for the people that put five stars on each level good for you but you are only very few, very few.
Just wanted to give you a heads up about disabling the auto-renew feature on your account. The only way to do this is by deactivating your account, but please keep in mind that deactivating it could result in you forgetting to renew your subscription, which would lead to automatic renewal. If you happen to contact the company on the day of the auto-renewal, they'll only give you a 50% refund on your annual subscription fee. Sadly, I had to deal with this issue myself. I subscribed to a service, used it only a few times, and a year later, they charged me for another year. I contacted them right away, but they only refunded me 50% of my fee. This is pretty frustrating, and I don't think it's good business practice, so just wanted to give you a heads up to avoid any potential issues.
Thank you for your feedback. You can always disable the auto-renewal of your subscription and continue to use the service for the already paid period. Alternatively, you can contact technical support, and they can disable it for you. You can reach us at support@ultimate-guitar.com, and we will respond within 24 hours.
I cancelled in 2020, it's 2022 and they are still charging me. I have no account with them. If you pay through PayPal they favor every time with ultimate guitar, even after showing them you don't have an account and you cancel two years ago.
I sent in a support email asking about a topic and it was ignored. I did the same again the following week and they ignored it again. So then I posted on their community forum about it and suddenly they not only responded but also gave me a "warning" for not having read the community guidelines…. Even though they never read my support ticket! Their customer service is non-existent! And I'm a PAID pro-member since 2015.
I'd also like to point out that while my warning was for asking users to up-vote a request (which I didn't know was a violation), Ultimate Guitar's email notifying me of this warning contained swear words.
Had UG just replied to my request with a quick and simple explanation of why content was blocked in the US, then I never would've posted on their forum to find answers (which there was nothing wrong with my post), and they never would've slapped me with a rude ban warning in a cursing email.
It's unfortunate that they've created a near monopoly.
Contest ended at midnight 8/10/20 but one particular participant is still getting views and likes well into the next day and are being counted. VrxT54. Totally unfair for other participants. Friend of staff?
This company offers a 14 day free trial and then immediately bills your credit card. I tried to cancel and get my money back and of course they wouldn't reply to my request. They won't answer emails or the phone. DO not sign up with these scammers!
Do not sign up for this. Don't even buy one tab. I signed up and canceled my subscription and was billed for an entire year. You cannot speak to a customer service representative. Total Rip off. Read this review, listen, and save yourself $65 or more.
Thank you for your feedback. Based on the information provided, it seems that you have subscribed to an annual plan without a trial and then canceled the auto-renewal. Therefore, the amount was charged according to the terms you accepted. Canceling the auto-renewal in no way can initiate a refund. For refunds, you need to contact technical support directly at support@ultimate-guitar.com.
Was looking for guitar chords for some houndmouth's music and they claim that they have it in their database, after i paid for the full amount will just redirect back to home page and there is no refund option available.
Where do I start... so you can not use the website version on your phone... and then when I was in the middle of using the site an add popped up for some guitar lesson sight... I tried to exit out and I got sent to a link for some random sight and I then tried to hit the back button and ended up on some "snap f*ck" thing... I just wanted to play banana pancakes by jack Johnson... I'm gonna use some other website from now on
Now they want more money annually so that you can have the scrolling function! I am fine with them believing they need to increase fees for improvements and new features but it is unethical business practice to charge new and significant fees for current features! I am looking for a new provider of guitar tabs. Anyone having a great experience with a different provider.
This is a very shady site that makes it nearly impossible to cancel after doing the free trial. They also refused to refund the amount they charged (despite me not using the service) when I did figure out how to cancel because it was after the month had begun. The tabs on the site are decent, and it is a helpful site, but stay far far away from the subscription.
I have been a member for years, but recently was hit with a Ultimate Guitar home page that I found impossible to exit without inadvertently signing up for a monthly $25 premium subscription. I attempted to cancel the subscription, but was only given additional "offers" at a reduced price. I have asked that they credit me the $25 charge for the service I didn't know I was requesting, but no luck there either. I don't want to hassle with monthly credit card charge disputes, but Ultimate Guitar doesn't seem interested in my troubles, they just want my money. Done with them.
Hello Brent. Thanks for your report. Thank you for your feedback. In fact, it's quite simple to cancel the subscription on the website or you can send a cancellation request to Support team at support@ultimate-guitar.com. You don't have to accept the discount offer if it's not of interest to you. This FAQ article can assist with that: https://help.ultimate-guitar.com/en/articles/6741667. Please contact us at support@ultimate-guitar.com and mention the word "sitejabber" and your name in the body of the email. We will try to review your case.
They'll take your money and never give it back. End of story. Don't use them. They'll say they have "classified" laws that keep them from returning your money, but they can't share what those laws are! Hah! Their customer service is rude and disrespectful, they don't want to give you the time of day.
Thank you for your feedback. Our refund policy is not classified information; you can familiarize yourself with it at the following link: https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/about/tos.htm
Terrible flaws in the program. Customer service was non-existent. Then I find out I paid more than TWICE the amount of their regular yearly subscription. Asked them why I was charged that amount, I received a "you agreed to that amount, so that's your problem" response. I have the email to prove it. They are terrible.
I've been a member since 2017 and the guitar pro software is excellent and the site isn't too bad for tabs. For me the option to cancel was as easy as going to the subscription options in my Google account and selecting cancel. The Guitar pro 8 software is phenomenal and I highly recommend.
This website is cumbersome and annoying. I believed myself to be purchasing a free trial that I could cancel any time, which I did within minutes of signing up. Now I am in a Kafka-esque correspondence with someone who refuses to refund or direct me to someone who can. Total scam. AVOID
I opted for the $3 a month Christmas special they advertised on their website. Instead they pulled a Grinch move, and charged me $39.99, which I believe is their annual rate. Not at all what I signed up for. Look out for these guys, they seem to be very deceptive in their advertising. I gave a 1 star rating, since zero stars is not an option.
The money is debited directly and the subscription is automatically renewed again. In no case deposit any payment data!
In addition, the cancellation at Ultimate Guitar is well hidden and shows at the same time the systematic of this company.
Disgusting
Still trying to get the issues resolved but this company is very tricky with their auto renewal policy. I tried Pro but many of the so-called official tabs were unavailable, often getting pulled by the artists. I decided not to continue the service and cancelled last year. I kept getting notices to update my card info in order to continue using, I declined. I found out later that you can't remove a credit card, only change it. They weren't able to get updated payment info, so they contacted my bank for the "auto-renewal" and then told me I had authorized the transaction myself. I did not. I told them that day that I didn't want the service and to please refund me. The emailed response said I could only get half of a refund as "per the terms and conditions
Thank you for your feedback. If the auto-renewal was canceled or you have submitted a request to cancel it, you should not have been charged any fees after the cancellation under any circumstances. Removing the payment method is also possible. You can always reach out to us for assistance at support@ultimate-guitar.com, and we will respond within 24 hours.
Answer: Hello Mark, You can always contact technical support at support@ultimate-guitar.com
Answer: Report as Fraud. Not that they have set it up to make it impossible to cancel or any of the other sleazy business practices they are exercising. The bottom line is they are fraudulently acquiring money from you

Hello Konstantin, Thank you for your feedback. The screenshot you've provided us with demonstrates that we offer a video for a specific tab but not a Lesson video on how to play the exact tab. So, it allows you to follow along with the original song and play the instrument.
If you open this tab and hit the "Video" button, you will see the linked videos.
