I've never come across such a frustrating site, I pay money each year and get locked out or flooded with adverts and never actually get to my account. It's an absolute farce, definitely wouldn't recommend it to a sole. They take your money and give little or nothing in return. A bunch of charlatans.

Cash Grabbers

Stay away from this website...I tried the free trial for seven days, I cancelled the same day I signed up for the free trial and it stated cancelled. On day seven I checked my bank account and was deducted $74.99 CAN...DO NOT GIVE THIS SITE YOUR CREDIT CARD...I notified them, they would not refund, the best option they offered was to charged me for one month...which is almost the equivalent to a year subscription and it only way they would delete my credit card information was if I selected one of their miserable options...totally disgusting! You will not get me the second time!

Stay away unless you like being scammed.

Same story as many of the other unhappy customers. Got suckered in by a free trial, only to be roped into an expensive annual subscription which is almost impossible to cancel. And if you do miraculously manage to do so, the company refuses to refund you (the most they'll offer is a pro-rated refund which still bills you almost as much as the original charge). They don't notify you of charges ahead of time, so you have no way to opt out. Nothing but passive-aggressive disinterest from their customer service reps who act like their hands are tied and they have no choice but to politely rip you off. Completely predatory and dishonest. There are so many other, better guitar apps out there -- avoid this one at all costs.

Watch out for subscribing to a trial with https://www.ultimate-guitar.com. When subscribing they automatically put you onto another subscription package without notification so when your 1st trial is up a full one year subscription is deducted and a gift for your loyalty.
On the 10th September 2024 I subscribed to a free 7 day trial for Ultimate Guitar Pro from the website https://www.ultimate-guitar.com using my Paypal payment details. I then received an email explaining the costs and trial period. This is below.

On the 16th September 2024 I went to cancel the subscription and was offered another 7 day free trial which I accepted.

On the 18th September 2024 I was billed £59.99 from https://www.ultimate-guitar.com. I emailed them immediately informing them that they gave me an additional 7 day free trial.
They then came back and said that amount was deducted from another product of theirs called Ultimate Guitar Songbooks. I requested an immediate refund as the amount had just gone off and I told them I didn't even know about that subscription. They refused a full refund citing their terms and conditions.

For the 1st subscription I received an email detailing the trial and costs. For the second subscription I never received anything that notified me I had even subscribed. I never received an email or notification at all letting me know of this second subscription.

Terrible company. Poor customer service. You can cancel and they will say it didn't happen; make sure you monitor your account because you will see a charge even after you follow all their convoluted directions to cancel your subscription.

Theives - BUYER BEWARE
January 15, 2024

I cancelled within an hour of signing up. They are refusing a full refund and only offering a small fraction of a refund which is unacceptable. Now, after researching their service (TrustPilot, Sitejabber et.al) I find they have a lengthy history of such abuse. I also found after logging into my Paypal account the auto renew is still active even after they claimed they would not rebill me (another common complaint). I was able to cancel future billing within the Paypal app for this "service". BUYER BEWARE of this scam outfit.

Caution - This site is a SCAM
March 11, 2024

I cancelled my subscription 2 months ago and even though it says cancelled in my iTunes account, they still billed me because they said I didn't complete the subscription completely. They don't tell you how to complete the subscription completely so I had to cancel my Credit Card with my bank to resolve the problem. See images below

SCAM!
February 10, 2024

Paid for annual membership/subscription. After 4 months I was no longer able to access account and requested to pay for new subscription. Reported to Attorney General and BBB. Should have been suspicious considering there is no way to contact company directly for any grievance. Save your money and use YouTube instruction for free.

Swindlers

Signed up for 1 year of service, but they have a systematic auto renew and wouldn't provide a full refund when requested. Read the fine print as these folks are out for your money anyway they can get it. Big rip-off scammers imo. Do NOT give these scammers your credit card info!

If I could give it no stars I would. I've been a member for years. The app and web site were simple to use. Now I try to search for tabs but when I click search nothing happens. It took me a long time to be able to find the R. E. M. Tab that I had written to discover that I can no longer play it. There's simply no play button. Instead it keeps popping ads and questionnaires for irrelevant information to get me to subscribe to things I don't need. Don't even bother replying to this with sorry excuses. I am no longer interested.

Just not worth the cost.

Its very expensive to join, and the membership is just not worth it. The official tabs are only available via an internet browser, which has less than half the functionality of something like GuitarPro, and they sound absolutely dreadful, like some cheap midi file.

So essentially all you get for your money is a very poor add free experience. Don't pay and have the adds is the smart choice.

I really feal upset by this company and I feel like they have falsely implied stuff in the advertising. I feel ripped off.

We want UG to be the only place where you can access these tabs and we don't want them to be distributed over the internet for free.
Please try the 'Listen backing track' feature on the official tab. It will significantly improve the sound.

Refund issues
April 23, 2024

I wanted to use the trial version and I didn't like it. I canceled my subscription, but either I did something wrong or it didn't cancel correctly. They charged me $100. I reached out to customer support for a refund, and they offered to refund only $75 due to their policy. I'm quite disappointed and will never recommend this service to anyone

Their auto renewal is a scam. I received an email stating that my auto renewal date was approaching. I was confused because I had already canceled the auto renewal. I was then charged $99. I went to their website to once again cancel my subscription and request a refund. Canceling your subscription and requesting a refund are two separate functions. Easy to cancel. Could not find any way to request a refund. I think this is by design. They advertise that you can request a refund but they want to make that task as difficult as possible. Buyer beware.

Just like everyone else, I was charged after I had tried to cancel my subscription, and was only offered a partial refund, I've had to cancel my card now as a precaution. Do not ever use this website and definitely don't give them you card details.

Scam

Signed up for 1 month for 8.99, they charged me 99. Looks like these guys are scammers. This may be the new way to scam. Luckily I used paypal and got at least a 75 dollar refund but it was a huge pain in the $#*! to get that. $#*! these $#*!s. Dont sign up for anything, should have check reviews before I signed up.

If you're here because you're commiserating with everyone else who got ripped off, then you know. If you're wondering if maybe you should plop down your hard-earned for this service, don't. Once they have your credit card number, they will perpetually take your money. Google "better business bureau ultimate guitar" and you'll see what I mean.

Basically a scam site

Free trial is offered for features or tabs that turn out to not exist. Then it is very hard to cancel pro subscription, even when apparently successful with confirmation email of cancellation the charges continue. I would advise never giving payment details of any kind to this site, it is as good as a scam. Many have had the same experience as me.
This site is making huge profits off the back of users making tabs for free, for the love and joy and this company profits by misleading users into paying for extra content much of which doesn't exist

Ultimate Guitar should be ashamed of themselves.
They say there is a 7 day trial when signing up. Again they state that there is a 7 day trial as an H1, only to then place the option as a p tag that it is only included in a year sub.
With two other options of year and month, that conveniently leave it out of the paragraph section, but have the massive 7 day free trial option as an H1.
Your practices are vulgar, and prey on so many people. I was denied a refund from support. And I could understand this if it was done properly, but tracing my steps again, I can see how so many, including myself were ripped off.
