I
I have submitted a class action suit against UHC I recommend others to do the same. Forms available on classaction.org / My mom was promised a lot and got shafted
When I first had Covid two years ago the emergency room took a chest X-ray to determine what type I had. They diagnosed it with Covid pneumonia with pulmonary nodules. They kept me over night to run tests and make sure everything was under control. Since then two of my doctors have requested a CT scan with and without contrast since Covid has stirred up my asthma and has become more severe. Each time I'd go to the appointment they tell me that the insurance hasn't sent them the approval. Now I'm on two very strong inhalers to help control the situation. My doctor asked why this hasn't been checked sooner and I told him that my insurance sits on it and decides if they want to approve it or not. What do you mean if you want to approve it or not? This is the most pathetic insurance company that my employer has gotten for us. Now I'm stuck ProScan services said I could got to the emergency room and they could do it without have it preauthorized I'm so angry right now I wish I could cancel this insurance. They are really really pathetic.
OPPS sorry I thought I had deleted a new update for this review, instead, it deleted this review. Oh well, now I'll recreate it.
Do not trust this United Healthcare. They do not care if we suffer. They do not care if we are in pain. They only care if you pay them.
I get migraines sadly a lot. The Rizatriptan pills helps so much that I don't loose work or suffer. Up until this year I could only get 12 pills a month. I could cope with that. But now I can only get 4. Yeah just 4. So suffer very much and be in pain? They have made it very clear that they could care less,... And oh I have to pay them to do this to me.
They said to contact my doctor to get him to give me more. That makes no sense at all.! 2 pills a month is not many, not many at all. So why force the doctor to add more to the 4 limit. They probably will only allow him to give me 5 pills but never 12.
BUT my doctor did contact them and they said NO. I was only to get 4 a month.
Plus I strongly strongly suspect that the 4 or 5 pills will cost what the 12 before did, about 150.
Do not trust them, they could care less about us. They really only care about us paying them to be mean to us.
Wish there were negative stars available. If my migraines take over my life. I may decide that it's time for the pain to end. Thanks, United Hate Care... United healthcare. You've made life so bad and you probably laugh all the time.
BUT you can trust Kiwi Drugs. They are in New Zealand and yes it takes a bit of time to ship the prescription BUT you can get what you need and not pay a ton of money like United healthcare wants.
United Health Care is TERRIBLE! I regret switching to this insurance company! First, I've never known an insurance company to choose a PCP (Primary Care Physician) for you. Who does that? What if I didn't want that PCP... you don't choose my doctor for me, that's my job!
Second, I received a referral from an Urgent Care facility. I followed up on the referral to an orthopedic, only to learn that United Health Care won't accept the referral because it didn't come from the my PCP (the one they chose for me) I also learned that the doctor at the Urgent Care facility is "in-network" with United Health, but because the referral didn't come from "my doctor" it couldn't be accepted. NEVER have I EVER had this problem with an insurance company.
C, I changed my PCP... you know from the one they chose for me... and after calling to let them know that I changed it, I was told that I couldn't choose the doctor (that's in-network) because he's not in my "market code." Apparently market codes identify a specific geographic region, and you have to choose a doctor within that region! WTH!? Why is that even a thing!?! Furthermore, the market code that I was listed under is in South Florida. I live in Georgia! I've never even lived in Florida! In summary, I HATE United Health Care, and it's by far the worst insurance decision I've ever made! Your policies are WACK, and your "rules, regulations and market codes" need to be seriously evaluated. Have a great day, and if you haven't already selected United Health Care as your health insurance company, please don't. You deserve better.
Worst service ever (all agents are outsourced). No one can give accurate information and they argue, talk over you and repeat the same phrase over and over. They refuse to escalate to a supervisor and no one does what they promise to do. I called the phone # on the back of my card to verify that my specialist is in network with UHC and was told by UHC that he is in fact in network, in our area.
Waited 2 months to go in for the procedure and was told by Texas Central GI that they do not accept my plan. PCP was guided to submit a "gap exception so she faxed it in. Called the specialist to make another appointment and they still do not accept UHC. We've been on this merry-go-round since December 2023 and it is now the end of March! I am so frustrated that my anxiety level is at an all time high. Google UHC reviews and complaints. I am not alone. Please do not sign up with United Health Care! They will make your life miserable and waste a lot of TIME. This is not healthy for anyone. We are canceling with UHC and choosing to go with BCBS at a lower cost and better service.
I was contacted by a United Health Care agent claiming to represent TTRS retired teacher organization. Offered to underwrite with same program my ex wife had. I asked immediately if affiliated with Well Med she said no. Confirmed same plan my ex wife had which she had been very pleased with. Said wanted to enroll. Called back 10 days later that because not the retired employee could not write TSTR plan but AARP the same was member AARP so she said write it. Called later and said could not write matching plan but did have plan could underwrite for people with diabetes. Failed to inform for patients with Chronic Care life threatening diseases. Did not explode very high deductibles only 50% hospital coverages and higher medicine deductibles. Filed complaint with United Health Care there response since sent email message with plan info on very small pica type my fault for signing and would not consider complaint. Filed complaint with Texas Ins License department they are investigating. United Health Card and Well Med mislead and cheat their insured.
I wonder how they survive
You need a lawyer to deal with the claims
Poor service
Hope they go out of business soon
Taking money from us and don't give service
Why's government is letting them exit
My wife & I had insurance through UHC. At some point, UHC decided to change how they pay our providers & put us on the hook for $3500. We've switched to Blue Cross & strongly recommend you avoid UHC.
UnitedHealthCare is a disgrace and a joke in every sense. Forget whatever they self-describe themselves as, as a consumer of a good or service, I find them to be not only woefully incompetent, but they lie, have out of date data, and I cannot understand how this does not equate to FRAUD.
If you charge for a service – to provide medical resources for allegedly QUALIFIED, IN-NETWORK entities – and the database they allegedly maintain for subscribers (paying customers) has companies in it that are closed, have moved, or otherwise don't exist (primary doctors, orthopedists, radiology), how is that not FRAUD?
I even asked a call center representative to ensure a place was open and taking patients. After being on-hold for quite a while, she came back on, gave me a phone number and an address, and said they were taking new customers.
I drove to the address. The building was almost vacant and that provider was certainly no there. I called the number and could not get through the IVR to a person; it kept looping no matter what option I choose. Did the rep lie to me? I think so.
This is not a one-off as it has been happening for many years, and when you need routine care, when you need emergency services, to spend hours and hours in frustration not being able to take care of yourself or a loved one…
There is no accountability in UnitedHealthCare. Their service is essentially a sham, and I intend to take this as high as I can, especially to the Attorneys General office.
They sound clueless and make it difficult to work with. They are a headache disguised as an insurance company.
UnitedHealthcare is the worst insurance and a bother to me now. When an agent called even, lying about the benefits of the hospital visits was the worst. I've called him for issues was a help at first. Then later I was a bother and annoying towards him even, shutting me off from him. This insurance even, sending emails about great benefits. All a lie. I don't like this insurance. Period. I didn't like it because hospital's in my state didn't accept hospitalization visits. I don't want this insurance. Leave me alone. If you are not good at one state bother another person who will accept you in another. Is that fair enough? Please I don't like this insurance. Accept it. Life is not a competition. It's about helping other's in need which, nobody not even, customer service or the agents where a mess. I want these people too stop harassing me with emails about great benefits. It's a lie too get gain of the company. I'm sorry but, this company deserves better. We need too learn too live in peace and well-being of other's. Not using them for profits. They need too stop harassing me and live in peace. They deserve it and so, do I. That's why I'm giving them 1 star which, should be a 0 star to me. I want too be in peace. Stop with the great benefits. It's not going too work. This company needs peace and I want them too be with them for now. Please leave me alone. The benefits were not helping me so, that's why I left. Please leave me alone because the bother is annoying me and will make anyone in madness. Please, let go. I don't want their benefits and I don't like their customer service. These people are horrible working here. This company is way beyond bad and worse. Anyone needs too avoid these benefits if in New Jersey because they are horrible in my opinion. AVOID!
I will start by saying one good quality is they pay fast. But... they don't cover shots flu shingle etc. Always have to pay more than co pay at drs offices any extra is not paid. My husband has thru work we pay 230 wk for the insurance which is to high for the coverage. I did have back surgery and they paid 100% after 4000. Prescription svc is ok. But when did ins become drs y do they have the right to tell the dr that knows me sees me, knows what i need and dont need. U spend more money to go thru all the junk they make u go thru then end up having to do what dr ordered to begin with. Dont care if u have drs on staff, u do not know me u r ins a svc i pay for to pay my drs. U should have no say on my treatment or meds. I dont need your recomendations thats my drs job. U should have no say on what is necessary or not necessary you r insurance. When u go to emergency room and attendant tells you they are the worst insurance ever to pay for things doesn't sit well. They know because thats what they do everday chk out ins coverage. No one at my husbands workplace hates this insurance must be cheap for the company they wont change it. We had Atena before this whole lot more coverage for money.
The car doesn't work the doctor they put down I never even had him as a doctor and don't believe what the app tells you the money that you have left because it will not be right and I tried to explain to them to fix it and they will not they need somebody there that are going to do their job I drove a half hour one way to get to a grocery store for food and was turned around and had to come back home because I was on the app said $39.84 and when I got to the store I had no money so before you use your card always call in to see what your balance is because it'll never be correct and they do not cover all your bills only if you live in the city they'll pay your bills city water electric phone you have to drive to these places to pay them I live out in the country to pay a $35 phone bill would cost me $30 to drive there to pay for it they have to learn how to pay the bills online like everybody else when I try to pay a bill of the company are you kidding me why can't they pay it online most companies will not give you their address because it's their corporate office and that's not where they're billing is and that's why my s*** cannot be paid through this so if you live outside the city you're screwed as a poor person I can't help it where I live but damn it fix your damn s***
Would give a ZERO to United Healthcare. Have had them for 2 years and their customer service reps are in India and are not only un-trained but considerably low IQ or COMMON SENSE. Over and over problems with claims being paid incorrectly and when you finally get a live person they are totally UNPROFESSIONAL. You have to be willing to tolerater their stupidity for 50 minutes before they "get it". I was told today that my prescription was not covered because my plan was terminated.OMG I changed to Blue Cross whose reps are in the US and that isnt effective until January 1st! He even told me if I wanted this prescription covered I would have to stay with United Healthcare. I asked for a supervisor and he sent me to an A**hole sales rep who scolded me for being upset. When I told him I was recording the call he quickly cut me off and sent me back to the Customer Service call que...Wow oh wow, I am so adamant about people being ripped off because of these idiots.especially older people who just cant or wont argue with them and give up. Save yourself lots of grief and stay away from this low life company!
January 2022: UHC assures me that my shoulder MRI is COMPLETELY covered and I won't have to pay a dime. So I go through with it.
March 2022: I receive a bill for the MRI. I call the hospital. They send the bill back to UHC.
April 2022: I receive another bill for the MRI. So I call UHC. They say that in March 2022, MONTHS AFTER my MRI, they changed a rule and now my MRI isn't covered (even though it already happened.)
Next, I send in an appeal, explaining the details. They say f*** you, we're making you pay it.
Then, I apply for financial assistance to pay the bill. They say f*** you, we're making you pay it.
March 2023: I set up a payment plan for this bill I'm being wrongfully charged because I don't have the time or the resources to keep fighting them on it, and they know it. I can't afford for it to go to collections and drag down my credit score. I'm fully stuck in between UHC behaving in a predatory manner, and the hospital trying to get paid. And now I am forced to pay this bill I was promised wouldn't even exist, even though I make peanuts compared to both institutions.
There are things that I like about UHC. But this experience has been a nightmare for me and other people need to know that this stuff happens. If I have to pay this bill, I'm at least going to make sure others know what is going on so they can make a better choice for their health insurance.
I bet UnitedHealthcare provokes more suicides than they prevent. I like to call them Untied Hellscare. Absurd. Take your wellbeing elsewhere.
We have had UHC for several yrs through our employer. They are the worst health insurance companies we've ever experienced! The most untrained unprofessional and rude reps. Long hold times - MANY times I am finally disconnected or they just never answer! And I've been hung up on when I press them on something they don't know the answer to. Another game is they will say they are transferring me to a "supervisor" or "level II rep" when I ask to escalate due to them having no clue how to service my request - I will hold for 15-45 min and then am disconnected. HORRIBLE! They do not know what they are doing and if they say they are transferring you just hang up. They show no apology for being hung up on or hold times in excess of 25 min. They simply don't care and NOONE at the top cares or they would appropriately train their service reps. Also every rep will tell you a different thing- so document date and what they said and employee #. Go do a search on the unethical fraudulent background of the leaders of this company. UHC tops the list for consumer complaints. I am in the midst of fighting them on a common sense claim they are sending me through circles on. And no one seems to k on why it isn't being covered and the phone call drops after them trying to find a supervisor to help me. I asked them to have a supervisor call me directly due to the HOURS I've spent on this and they say that's against their policy. Other excuses I've gotten is "for some reason I can't pull that up", "our system seems to be down" "I'm not sure why but I can't transfer you" "sorry that you were on hold for 15 min. We don't usually do that" (followed by a 30 min hold time and a disconnect!). They are designed and taught to play dumb, deny claims or pretend they never received them or that their system isn't working correctly. We are dropping them at open enrollment and have reported back to HR how abysmal their service is.
I'm currently assigned to United Health Optum Arcadia, CA under uhc.com/calpers. I was assigned to doctor T in March 2021. I contact the Arcadia office 0n 5/26/21 to request an exam and a referral for a colonoscopy (+50 with family history of cancer). The agent said I was not assigned to doctor T, but she can shedule an appointment on 07/13/21.
Regulatory protocol dictates that a patient should be seen within two weeks if the case is not an emergency. A doctor should be able to process about 12 patients per day. If we use the appointment date of 07/13/21, then Dr. T has approximately 400 patients ahead of me, a highly inprobable scenario.
I contacted the United Health member service and spoke with agent S. She contacted the Arcadia office and was told that doctor T was fully booked until July 13th and my only option is to initiate a complaint with the quality team.
On 05/27/21, representative D from the quality team called and said that she would not be able to provide a time frame to expedite the date of the physical exam.
I have worked with many HMOs in the past and United Health is definitely the worst. They rely on uninformed customers to squeeze more profit.
I can't find the words to adequately express how crappy the service is a UHC. Folks on phone are friendly - but unable to solve problems.
Answer: They are a scam. They deny claims and cancel policies while still collecting premium installments or payments frauding customers out of millions of dollars. Read BBB complaints.
Answer: Because it's the standard of how the respond to EVERYONE! They don't care!
Answer: Read your materials if it's offered with your plan it will be in there don't call UHC trust me we don't want to talk to you we hate the phone calls! Read read read read ohhhh and READ your materials! Learn how to use a computer log on to your website and READ YOUR MATERIALS ONCE AGAIN DONT CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE DONT CALL UHC DONT DONT DONT!
Answer: Yup, doesn't matter the "service" through these scammers, they deny EVERYTHING! It's their SOP
