I rarely post reviews, but this tax year and the error Turbo Tax made really upset me. They have a service they offer regarding paying your taxes via an EFT on the date you select. Like most, I prefer to pay my taxes closer to the tax date. Why would I pay Uncle Sam early when my wife and I pay so much in taxes every year? This year, Turbo Tax failed to pay our taxes on time and we were charged with a late fee. It was only $32.00, but despite it being Turbo Tax's error, one of their managers, Gary Katz, refused to reimburse us. I'm sure Gary Katz isn't worried about little old insignificant me raising hell about this, but that $32.00 he said Turbo Tax is going to cost them thousands in lost revenue because I will never use their service again. I have also gone on other social media to tell family and friends about Turbo Tax's failure and the lack of concern of Gary Katz for Turbo Tax's customers. Katz actually insinuated that we were at fault for not paying our taxes ahead of time to ensure they would be received on time. The service Turbo Tax offers is that the customer set the date of payment. Turbo Tax had plenty of time in advance to ensure that our EFT arrived on time. I encourage everyone to use another tax preparation firm to handle their taxes. In addition, as a veteran, I will now begin using the free services of the VA to help prepare my taxes in the future.
I paid them a $30 fee to use my credit card so they could process my IRS payment and two months later I received a $1300 bill from the IRS stating that they never received a payment and penalties where being charged on a daily basis. I used their system to make my full balance payment to the IRS I was charged for both transactions (IRS & turbo tax fee) and the irs never received my payment. Called TurboTax to check confirmation of payment and no one could help me with this. It was a very very frustrating situation since I lost over $1300 using their software. I had to repay the IRS again this time I did it myself using the IRS website
I originally called just to make sure i had things right. After two hours, customer support said that someone from Ohio should go over this (state i live) because she was "not familiar with the exact rules and papers That lady supposedlyhad 15 years experience." The next person i ended up with supposedly, the person i received at customer support had 20 years experience. They make sure to let you know asap. He didn't know how to navigate the site at all, hung up on me (I am a nice person and never got mad) because he had no clue, texted me that he needed to go over it with another colleague and that he would call the next day. This was after three hours of navigating the site with him! He did call me the next day to tell me that he is still going over it and would call me the next day. He still hasn't called back. Did I mention that this was all over just a Rita tax and nothing else? Well they screwed it up hard core, first lady sent in the messed up Rita tax that stated I owed $500 to it. She even said that there was no way.
Don't try calling the Turbo Tax number given online. You wait half an hour just to be told that they do not know and that I need to upgrade my service. Please use another tax service.
Awful service...cant get to anyone the recorded line resists to connect to anyone...just says to go online and press help! It is like fast food in the worse customer service...do not recommend...
I would give no stars if possible. We used Turbo Tax for years only to find out when we hired an accountant that that Turbo Tax calculated many years of our returns incorrectly causing us to owe money every year when in fact the federal government and our state OWED US money. Turbo Tax cost us more money to have prior year returns amended and refilled by our accountant. DO NOT EVER USE TURBO TAX!
First off they charge $189.00 to do it yourself online (for audit proof), and this year they are doing some new bs. Which is this credit karma money card bs. Whatever you do hit the back button and go back out to submit your own bank account info. Otherwuse these are the issues you will deal with. Because if you use that credit karma card you can't talk to no customer service representative about your money. They suspend your card if you spend so much in one day. You can't go to the bank and withdraw without paying these white folks more money to get your money off this card. On their website where it says that you can go to CVS, Walgreens, krogers, and etc. That's all a mf lie I went to all of them and they said there is no such a thing. You also can't transfer your money to your bank I tried this as well and it did a reverse. $#*!ing my bank account $#*! all up, putting me in the negative. Whatever you do don't choose that card. You are giving them complete control on how you spend your money. I would give their $#*! a zero
One thing that really bothers me is the false advertising. I'm constantly now seeing commercials advertising free free free free free. Maybe to do the taxes is free but to print them out and submit them is not. It costs about $120 for state and federal and no support.
Last year I completed my taxes. Something was still not calculating correctly. After an hour of attempting to figure out the problem, I finally decided to pay the upper package which included a consult with a tax advisor. After completing payment I transferred to the tax expert, I explained my issue and she researched. I had to explain several times what an HSA is. She finally figured out the issue and then asked me about payment. I explain to her that I had purchased the upper package which included this call. She said okay and that's for your business. A few days later I'm checking my credit card statement and discovered, in addition to the upper package, she charged me extra for this consult. I attempted to contact the company several times to resolve this. I never received one single response and definitely not a refund. I will never use TurboTax again.
Turbo tax offered a free account to file your taxes but then they said their was errors and they fixed the errors after several clicks and sent a verification that all errors was fixed and that my taxes was filed. Then I said great and I threw away my w2s thinking I don't need them anymore since they fixed all errors and my taxes was filed. Then about two weeks later after nothing in the mail and nothing on the stupid turbo card sent. I confirmed with turbo to find out what happen and then found out that their apparently was more errors and I needed to pay $120.00 to fix errors. So thanks to them I can't file my taxes this year because I threw away already the w2s thinking they filed my taxes. I do believe they was hoping for this to happen and I bet I'm not the only one.

Taxes filed with TurboTax to save 500 to 600 fees I had been paying.
Saw on IRS website, file for free with turbo tax online and under certain income free.
Only if u don't have 1099 g, CTC, EIC, and so on.
Though it was no longer free, it was 107$.
Much lower than what I paid, so I filed.
Then a change on the refund transfer fee, on their TBG site l, they had added 40 more to transfer.
Now it's 147$.
This should be told and no fees added if not told.
One agreement was agreed to file, yet it's not my initial fee agreement.
I agreed to one price not prices changing when it's time to collect our of my refund.
Be upfront about the fee and facts that it isn't FREE.
Tell straight up to get a refund fee to e-file
By paying it out that it's not free, and you will be charged again for the transfer fee with the bank transferring. Extra for transfer bank.
I feel, I'm waiting for a refund, that I'm told will be in my account in four days, but possibly never show.
It makes me wish I had not of filed to save money, just after seeing all these constant changes.
I feel i made a mistake and can't trust TurboTax!
I tried them for the first time and they gave an option to get help with a tax expert. Well I only had issue with it, no one could answer my questions, and it kept kicking me out to where I just said forget it and called someone else for help. Well before I filed I told them I wasnt paying for the online help cause I didn't get any help and to cancel it before my taxes go through. They said sorry w can't do that to just submit my taxes and when they take it from my taxes they would refund it back. So I put them through with the help ( I mean no help fee). So instead of them taking it from my taxes they cleared it from my bank account without me knowing and then said sorry we can't refund you. Dont ever file taxes here. The person on the phone said don't worry about it, if it comes out of your account which it's not supposed to for any reason to call for a refund. So they tell me oh sorry we don't give refunds for a customer being unsatisfied with the product. It should have never came out in the first place because I didn't want it.
I asked for electronic deposit of my refund into my bank account, and IRS deposited it in an account in another bank because both my routing number and account number on my return had been changed. I carefully entered the correct numbers and ALL 18 DIGITS WERE CHANGED AFTER I SUBMITTED MY RETURN. Nine digits for the routing number and nine for the account number. If you use TurboTax, BEWARE DIVULGING YOUR BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION. I'm still tracking down my money!
Last year taxes easy form they charge me the deluxe I let it go taxes for 2023 charge me delux did not want it didn't mark box they said they would refund it liers I will never use them again I don't care how much I pay some were else
I CHOSE TO DO THE FREE ONLINE TAX ON TURBO THEN WAS CHARGED OVER 270.00 just to file My simple tax return l! Then went through the steps to get my refund for a the package they said I used to be told that they can't give me a refund because I didn't buy the CD and I file online! Never using them again
This company literally screwed me out of my taxes for 4 YEARS saying it was the IRSs fault. Idk what the problem was, but it had nothing to do with the IRS. They said I had to mail rather than e-file, and I didn't receive my returns for years. All I had to do was go somewhere else. Just this year I got the same thing, it's the IRS, but they are lying out of their teeth. If you have a similar problem DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY. It was ridiculous and honestly pathetic. I filed my takes with them for direct deposit. Next thing I know I'm getting a check from GreenDot with an additional $69 in processing fees (after TurboTax fees were taken) because they said they could not direct deposit. TurboTax is taking NO responsibility stating GreenDot is a third party and I have to contact them. NONE of the numbers that TurboTax or online get me to a person and the have a horrible rating online. I have also tried GreenDots chat where I was told they can't help with those issues and someone would call me within 24 hrs (twice) - a return phone call never happened. I ihave now filed a report against GreenDot with the Better Business Bureau and will be also filing one against TurboTax. If they are going to use a third party, they should be using a reputable one.

First of all it used to be completely free to file on turbo, now there's an outstanding fee of $59 to file with them. As well as they wait UNTIL THE END to encourage, or should I say basically FORCE you to fill out your state returns and has the nerve to threaten to delete my progress on the state return if i don't pay an ADDITIONAL $59 LMAOOOOOOOO a complete joke. THE BEST PART IS YET TO COME, I've paid the extra $59 but the site is so glitched that it wont even allow me to select a drop down menu from the school districts within my county. THANKS FOR STEALING MY MONEY TURBOTAX
My experience with TurboTax was terrible. I had to change the resolution of my computer to 600x800 to be able to proceed through some sections of the program. I had to change my TurboTax so that it could be run in administrator mode to be able to file my tax returns. The charge for using a credit card is 2.54% of the amount of tax owed, $25.40 for every $1000 dollars owed just to process a credit card. I spent hours searching the Internet to find out about changing resolution and running in administrator mode because TurboTax help is non-existent and where it does exist it is not helpful or useful. For a company like Intuit to produce and sell a product like this is a disgrace. I will not recommend this product to anyone and I will tell everyone what a terrible product this is and insist that they do not purchase it. I am a very unhappy user of this product. What should have been a simple and straight forward task became a nightmare. Only through perseverance, because I had already spent money on the product and it could not be refunded through Amazon, was I able to power through and actually file my taxes.
I paid $35 to upgrade from Deluxe to Premier. I received an email with the License Code for premier and a link that was described as: "TURBOTAX DESKTOP PREMIER TAX YEAR 2023 WIN DOWNLOAD WITH STATE". I downloaded the file, uninstalled my previous version, restarted my computer, and installed the new version. Only it wasn't the new version -- it was still the Deluxe version. I called TurboTax support but they were no help at all.
We've used TurboTax for years and just to let you know we're no longer using your services because we think you are now a bunch of shameless asxxxholes by making people believe they have to sign up for credit karma in order to finish their tax return!
Bottom line: your tactics are deceitful and dishonest and by the way if I want to sign up for any other services ill sign up on my own! NOT through your piece of s$&t service so take note: when your s$&t company's bottom line starts falling I for one will be glad for you!

In closing, WE don't need nor want to share credit information with anyone we choose not to and by you deceitfully embedding the final step in the filing process stating an entity has to create an account with credit karma (as well as requiring acknowledging of a check box that you agree you share your credit info) is downright shameless and I hope to hell your company goes under soonest... so kiss my $#*!! B$t$HES!
Answer: Very difficult to get, had to call numerous times to get a response and then there was no, let me help you with that. They were uncaring about my situation, I had to pursue questioning what they can do and would end up forwarding me to departments that did not respond.
