Trusted Housesitters: They were so helpful when I didn't understand some of the directions and how it worked. They always answered my emails and answered my questions very politely and thoroughly. Also I was able to talk to a representative on the phone who was also friendly and helpful. They even helped me post some of the pictures when I was having difficulty. I was fortunate to get a wonderful petsitter for my dog and apartment.

I have been a member of Trusted Housesitters as a homeowner since 2011, and have found some wonderful housesitters, some of whom have stayed multiple times at my house, and we have become good friends. My cats have always been well looked after, and I have not worried about them while I am away. My experience has mostly been positive, and I have always been able to find a housesitter on this site, even at short notice. I have also done one housesit myself, where I enjoyed the company of 2 lovely cats, and I intend to do this more often in the future, as I miss my own cats when I'm traveling.

Reliably excellent! My husband and I live in New England and have traveled to 100 countries over the past 20 years, always hiring pet/house sitters--whether for long weekends or multi-week trips. In 2016, just at retirement, we found TrustedHouseSitters. It seemed too good to be true, but is now our go-to platform for pet/house care.

Each "sit" we have posted has had many, many applications from sitters nearby as well as around the world, allowing us to have lots of conversations and be very selective. Each confirmed sitter (some single, some couples) has exceeded our expectations. They have arrived exactly as agreed, taken great care with our home and two dogs, communicated frequently with emails and pictures, and even dealt with a lightening strike and loss of power as well as a medical issue for one of our dogs.

TrustedHouseSitters has simply added a new dimension to our post-retirement lifestyle. We don't have to budget for pet/house care as we plan our travel--saving us a few thousand a year. Equally important, we have made wonderful new friends from Australia, England, Canada and even our own country. We keep in touch and know we'll see them again.

I will say it's critical to fill out your profile in great detail, including photos. This will help applicants decide if your situation is a good fit. It's also important to review each applicant's profile and reviews so you have confidence in your selection. We always spend time emailing/texting with applicants before making a decision, and also ask sitters to arrive a day early so we can get to know each other before we fly out.

We have never been disappointed--in fact, we have been thrilled. Yes, we have been having sitters living on our homes for years, so the idea of having "strangers" in our house isn't odd or unsettling to us. This is something you have to decide for yourself.

Following widowhood and retirement, I became aware of the concept of house sitting. It has proved far more than a bright idea at a sad time, becoming my way of life for the past two years, worldwide. It is Trusted Housesitters (well named) that has made it possible for me to make marvellous new friends (both human and animal). As I've met new people from Wicklow (Eire) to Bergen (Norway), from Australia's Gold Coast to Kangaroo Island, I've been happy to repeatedly recommend Trusted Housesitters.

My husband and I joined THS in 2015, went to 'sit' in Laos for 7 months and have never looked back. Since then we done over 20 sits and are sitting our way around the world. We visited 12 countries on 4 continents and have stayed in beautiful homes with some amazing animals and made great friends. We recommend this site to everyone that we speak with. The customer service is very good however we've only used it once, thankfully.

Joining 12 months ago was a simple process even though it was extensive in the information I needed to provide. I am currently on my 6th sit with another booked and have found the experiences excellent both in Australia and England. This is in no small way due to the requirements of THS as the owners and myself have followed instructions, and there has been open communication all round.
THS have been prompt in answering any queries.

Until I discovered Trusted House Sitters, I had a hard time getting friends or neighbors to take care of my four cats. One of my older cats is very particular and needs more attention than the others. I really needed someone to spend time with them more than just to tend to food bowls and litter boxes. I wanted a repeat person so that the cats would feel comfortable with him or her whenever I left for a trip. I found a local- Mary and it's ben such a relief for all of us. I trust this service and Mary has been amazing!
