We are so happy with our experience with TrustedHousesitters and especially with the husband and wife team we were so fortunate to get. We hope they come back.

We had a bad experience with a previous pet sitter not thru TrustedHousesitters who we had used quite a few times and paid a very competitive fee to. She took extreme advantage of our home on an increasing scale that was truly unacceptable.

My friend had used a competing site to TrustedHousesitters with great success. While I did initially try that site, I found that the people I was getting were not people I could find a way to be comfortable with so I did some searching and came across TrustedHousesittters. I liked that they charge a fee, had a greater level of verification and had insurance.

As I signed up, I still got requests from some people who I had a hard time feeling comfortable with but I was also able to find a ton of people who I really hoped would come and sit for us. We were lucky enough to find a couple who were pretty knew to the site but who immediately inspired confidence. And, they were AMAZING. Our cats loved them - about as much as they love us which is not normally the case. And, our place was left in better condition than when we left it.

I would give the couple who sat for us 10 stars and hope they will come back. I like the site and would give them 5 stars if I was able to set a bit more criteria as you do end up getting a lot of requests from people who for many reasons you would never consider.

Overall a great experience.

We've had several positive pet-sitting experiences via Trusted Housesitters, in the U.S. and England. All the animals and pet-owners we've interacted with have been friendly and easy-going, and the homes have been comfortable and safe. This is a great way to travel and meet people, and a particularly good set-up if you're on a budget. The site is user-friendly and has a good search function for finding dates and locations. I have not had any negative experiences, although I realize that can happen and that there is some risk involved in any online network based on mutual trust.

I was referred to this site while posting on Facebook to find a cat/house sitter. I've typically paid $15 per day for someone to come and watch my kitty, but she really loves being by a human's side all day so having someone stay here is ideal. This website and service is saving me hundreds of dollars, and I love that you can post reviews like on airbnb. I also like that there's insurance in case something gets broken or goes missing. I have been recommending this service often to my friends who travel and love pets like me!

I've used Trusted Housesitters multiple times since 2016, and recommended it to many people. I've never had a bad experience. It's a community of caring, conscientious people. Of course, you have to vet people carefully. The site does most of the work with i.d. verifications; I complete the process by carefully reviewing profiles and reviews, followed by an in-depth phone call or Skype session. I hope to have the experience of being a sitter, one of these days!

My husband and I are on our tenth housesit and looking forward to many more. Every experience has been rewarding, and we've met so many wonderfully kind people and amazing animals. The homeowners never cease to amaze us with their generosity and hospitality.
The secret to successful sits is doing your due diligence in talking to the homeowner and knowing what type of environment you need to be happy.
The TH chatline is very responsive and helpful. No complaints here. We encourage anyone who is thinking about joining to do it today. It's one of the best decisions we ever made.

We have completed three housesits with Trusted Housesitters and we have been pleased with the process for each one. We have applied for sits and been invited for sits and both methods seem to work well. The platform for viewing is well organized and the communication process works efficiently. We are satisfied with the support provided and the safety and security measures that are in place.
Once a sit has been applied for, there can be varying, and long, waits for responses. We understand that this is at the discretion of the housesit host, but guidelines for a reasonable confirmation or disconfirmation time would be appreciated.
Overall we are pleased with the service provided and are looking forward to another housesit early in the upcoming year.

Wow! We have used Trusted Housesitters ten times over the past five years to take care of our home and two cats, and have saved many hundreds of dollars in petsitting charges. Our housesitters have been consistently tidy, considerate, and excellent at communicating before, during, and after our trips. We always speak to housesitters by phone before making a commitment, and always meet the housesitters the day before our trip. We can't recommend Trusted Housesitters highly enough.
