Android phone stopped working, could not receive or make calls as of March 16,2022. Called tracfone almost every day about this problem. Spent 3-4 hrs on phone with agents, repeating same info with each one. On 2 occasions I was disconnected FOUR times, each time placed on hold only to repeat info all over again. My last call on 4/19 was the last when a "corporate manager" stated she could not help me, that she has to transfer me to "a corporate manager". Was disconnected (second time). I paid $39 in March to renew phone plan, and cannot use phone for calls!
You're guaranteed to be endlessly juggled between departments, with most agents either not understanding the issue or not willing to make an effort to help. Don't bother with chat, either, because my experience with chat was like speaking with a robot rather than a human agent. Another cellphone company I recently contacted was able to help me right away (correctly at first contact) via chat. Tracfone agents lack service and knowledge skills - even for their own departments.
Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service. Plus they include internet time spent on WiFi against the mobile data allotment. Using Android internals AND a network monitoring app, I was able to verify I only used 1.5 Gb of mobile/cell data in Feb, with another 13.8 Gb done on WiFi. Tracfone charged all 15.3 Gb as mobile data overcharging me by $80. When I talk to customer service & tech support, they are utterly clueless (on purpose?) and switch me to a "supervisor" who then spends the first ten minutes repeating all the proof of identity questions the previous three agents asked me, and then tell me "there is nothing they know to do" about any potential problems in how they are calculating data usage. 5 years ago they were bought by Verizon. I will be leaving Tracfone and NOT going to Verizon. Way to go idiot moron executives drinking cocktails at the 19th green of the clubhouse and thinking up new ways to cheat the customer.
While I am generally happy with the plans offered, tracfone has the worst customer service I have ever experienced if there are any issues... and I have dealt with ATT so that is saying something. If something goes wrong expect no help at all. I lost my cell phone then bought a dedicated tracfone phone to replace it yet they will not activate my new phone for 72 hours with no reasonable explanation beyond "it is on a "blacklist" whatever that means. Terrible service!
Ordered new phone after mine was stolen. Received phone but they changed my number and charged me twice. After a month they have been unable to solve even one issue. *******089 Additional the phone agent used curse words. The chat agent cannot help because they are not allowed in your account. Tech Support doesn't know how to use chat.
3 hours of confused customer service unable to get my phone set up on tracfone. I purchased the phone and sim from them. Now they are trying it get to the next step but will take 24 to 30 hours. Ive spent 3 hours and my wife another hour. 20 years ago they were able to do this in 5 minutes. Moving their customer service out of the country( yes it's extremely obvious) was a big mistake. Card included with phone has 2 numbers that service needs to set this up. They say they need another number but can't tell me we're to find it.
I had been happy for years with Tracfone. Mostly use it for texting. They removed the add-on feature that let you buy 1000 additional texts for $5... Now, if you use all your texts in your plan year, you must buy a monthly service plan that costs a minimum of $15 or $20 per month. This change was made in the middle of my current annual service term. Believe me, texts go quickly, and I've usedall 1500 texts four months into my annual term. Be very careful what you pay for with Tracfone. Hidden costs make this $100 phone now cost over $300 for the year..
Although the set up was free originally, the phone sucked n stop working so I had to purchase a new one. They sent another faulty one and has been giving me the run around for months. Still have not received my refund even though they have the phone back! Customer service sucks. They either hang up, transfer u a million times, or tell u you're going to get a call back and never receive that call back. I hate them so much omg.
I've been using tracfone.com since 2008. I am very happy with them. They have great customer service. One of the phones on my account quit working within the warranty period and they sent me a new one asap. Since then I bought 2 more phones for my family and haven't had any other problems.
Never had a problem before but ordered a refurbished phone on line and when it showed up 8 days later, the screen when I turned it on started flashing like a strobe light. It is going on 5 weeks now and am still trying to find out where my replacement phone is, all I seem to get for answers is a big run around on there chat link seeing how I can not call with no phone.
3rd time I've had to activate a prepaid card by calling in instead of being able to load online. Yes it's a good deal price wise but this time I've lost $100.00. Called in, took the number from the back of the prepaid card, said it was activated and to close and restart my cell phone and my account was active and even gave me an end date! 9/28/2028. Just saw on this site that Verizon controls tracfone now. Had thought about going to Verizon... NOT NOW!
When I renewed my service plan online, I noticed that they tax me at a rate of 8%. I reside in Delaware County, Pa. The tax rate is 6%. I attempted to call customer service but that was a waste of time. I then went online to chat with a rep named Marjorie, she was as rude as can be, when I informed her what happened. It may seem like a small amount to one customer, but if they do this to everyone, a Class Action lawsuit should be considered. When you checkout please check the tax amount on your purchases.
I used Tracfone's automated service to change my phone number because I was getting a lot of spam calls. When I did, I somehow lost all my minutes/messages/data. I called Tracfone. I had just purchased an annual plan two weeks before. I spent more than 2 hours on chat getting passed from rep to rep. Finally one of them partially restored my balance (about half). I was told to call the 800 # to get the rest restored. I spent another 2 hours again getting passed from rep to rep. I was also told that they could not see how many minutes I previously had because the number had changed. Two hours later, I was finally told that they would NOT restore any additional minutes. Every rep I spoke with was kind and understanding, but seemed unable to anything. I am now done with Tracfone.
TracFone sucks big time! Nothing but problems with this phone! Can't use ******* and talked to 5 different techs that couldn't fix problem! Also can't understand people you talk to! This is America, learn how to speak English before you come here!
First, the coverage is abysmal. Dropped calls every day, whether at home or out. Literally no internet service for over two weeks on vacation. I specifically chose Tracfone for their supposed coverage based on the map that included our vacation destination. No luck getting any refunds for terrible cell/internet service. Also, for this "low cost service", I was charged over $40 for a SIM card for the privilege of keeping my own phone and phone number and switching from Verizon to Tracfone. In total for the one month that I used this horrible "discount" service, I ended up being charged $95…had i just stayed with Verizon, at least I'd have had coverage, service and my hotspot when I really needed it. Tracfone charges a premium for using your own phone as a hotspot; it's just a total nickel and dime operation. I'm switching to Mint Mobile and hope to have a better experience there.
On the new phones the WEB is available, which is fine. BUT the company puts the access button in the upper right hand corner because they know people will inadvertently press the button WITHOUT intent. For every minute this goes undetected we lose money and the company makes money. So every time 1,000,000 users make that mistake, the company takes in $10,000, and customers lose $10,000. Doesn't it sound like a syndicate con job, considering the company is not going to pay us back for lost minutes due to their 'trick', nor are they going to fix this intentional 'trick' until they raked in enough? I hope I'm wrong because i can't afford a phone with a built in rip-off tool..
Tracfone will unlock your phone after 3 continuous months of service however, they will turn your service off when you have minutes/texts/ data and current service cards. This has happened twice.I purchased a one year service card and my account and service was deactivated after 6 months. They also made me change my number when I moved to another state. My data was always sketchy and didn't work 90% of the time when I had data available. This was my back up emergency phone I rarely used. Customer service are very rude and not helpful. Skip Tracfone.
I lost my cell phone on vacation and bought a temporary Tracfone to use to try to find my phone. A kind soul had found and returned my real cell phone - how kind, how gracious. But Tracfone? It was heinous to try to even activate the stupid thing. 38 minutes dealing with an inept language-barrier phone person - when I asked for a manager? Was disconnected. I only activated by going to a library to get their help (I was on vacation - not my town). Since then, I've gone on chat, telephoned again - always finding that they're inept, you can't understand their accent, they don't know what they're doing - what worthless trash. I will now feel better by putting this crap phone under my car wheel and driving the f**k over it. THEN I will feel better. What a horrible, trash, scum, worthless company. I teach college so I'd give them a 5 x's F-. TRASH.
We purchased more minutes for an existing phone and found we no longer could call or text. Random text and 800 numbers come through. Five calls to Tracphone with same answer "move to an area of service". Is that the moon?
Was connected with a person earlier today who didn't listen to a word I said and instead of trying to do anything that resembled help, just hung up on me. I immediately called back and spoke with someone else who did help me with the problem, but oddly placed me on hold a bunch without telling me so I ended up talking to myself a few times. And then, instead of connecting me with anything I could lodge a formal complaint through, also just ended up hanging up on me. I've been avoiding switching phone planes for so long, but I'm 100% considering it after this. Unreal how bad the customer service is.
Answer: Tracfone uses only the most feral and unskilled labor available in the Philippines for their customer service centers. I've encountered hundreds of these creatures and found only two helpful people. The rest just seem to be thinking about bananas all day English skills and intelligence are hard to find at Tracfone's customer care center, but the script reading skills (in broken English) are among the best in Asia.
Answer: Tracfone hires only the most feral and ignorant Filipinos to work their customer care center. I've been on the phone for dozens and dozens of hours with these mindless drones and have only found one or two people (out of hundreds) that were actually helpful. The ability to speak English clearly or have a glimmer of intelligence are NOT prerequisites for employment at Tracfone.
Answer: Yes, go to tracfone.com (or their app) and look for Add-ons under Buy Air Time. It is currently $5 for 1,000 texts. Great price! I just ordered one year of service for $49 and the1,000 texts for $5. Cant beat it.
Answer: If you have a tracphone cell phone, it's 1 hour of tracfone call time, and 90 days of service
