Follow up: The tires are the same model but are not a matched pair. One tire is nearly new with a plug/patch in the tread area (I don't have a problem with that). The other tire shows it age and has more wear. Both tires have at least as much tread depth as was advertised. I wrongly assumed the tires would be a pair that were used together and would show same age, condition, wear, etc. I guess it is not a big deal but I am a bit surprised.

We were mulling over the idea of either replacing all of our tires on our Tesla Model S (looking like a $1400+ proposition) or just replacing the one with a leak. I opted for getting a tire that matched the tread wear of the other tire, and just have it installed at Mr. Tire. Overall, very happy with it, and definitely more of a bargain than getting these things new.
