Dont plan a wedding without looking at the Knot website! I heard about the Knot back in 2001 when I was the best man for a friend and needed to research what my responsibilities were. Naturally when I got engaged in 2017 and needed to plan our wedding the Knot was the first place I turned to. I truly cannot say enough good things about the Knot website and services provided. They truly made planning far easier than trying to plan on our own. Using the Knot allowed us to have an amazingly unforgettable wedding!

1) Organized Truly one of the keys to having a successful & low stress weddings is ORGANIZATION! The Knot provides invaluable help with that. Once you open up and account on the Knot website you have access to a complete array of planning and vendor tools.

2) Checklist Brilliantly done! Based on the date you plan to have your wedding a tailorable checklist is created with common wedding planning items and when you should to start and complete the various tasks. You can add items not on the checklist or remove items you dont need in the checklist. As tasks are completed the site tracks what percentage of items are accomplished to give you a warm fuzzy about your planning progress. Also weekly email reminders were great to help keep us on track.

3) Couples Website The Knot also lets you create your own wedding website page where you can post your photos and information about the wedding. My wife and I had fun setting this up. We put the link in our invitations for people to access.

4) The Knot Venue Concierge One of the more time consuming things is scheduling vendor visits and tours. We went to 14 different wedding / reception venues in the Atlanta area and the Venue Concierge was invaluable. You actually get an actual person who schedules visits to wedding venues for you free of charge! Genius! Kelsey was our concierge and always kept us in the loop via email and text. She was fantastic! This saved us lots of time making phone calls.

5) Vendor Lists The Knot was a one-stop shop to find vendors in our area for everything from Cake Chefs to Limousine Service. The customer reviews for each vendor were also very helpful.

I would give the Knot website 6 stars if I could. No one should plan a wedding without them!

Two months ago, December 25th I got engaged.
About a month later I was diagnosed with breast cancer in both breasts at a major hospital in K. C. Kansas.
My head was spinning with this information because there was no history of breast cancer in my family.
I decided to go looking for my wedding gown to take my mind off of what I just thought I just heard.
I googled some shops and the only shop that was open at 10:00 was the Gown Gallery down town Kansas City, Missouri, so I decided to go there first.
The pictures of the gowns in the window was amazing! Perfect for my style, oh and on my 2nd visit to my Primary Care Physicians, my physician said she purchased a gown from them for a formal affair she attended.
After going up a flight of stairs I arrived at the desk and was greeted by Robin Sweet. She greeted me with an out stretched hand and a great big warm smile. She asked me what was my price range and what style was I looking for. I showed her some pictures on my phone. She explained where she would look to see if she could help me. She then sat me at one of there small tables and offered me a cup of tea while she searched for what I was wanted. She was so very professional and helpful.
Well, as it turned out they were the only shop I visited.
To my surprise she brought up a total of four gowns but # 4 made me feel like the bride I had never experienced in my first wedding some 48 years earlier. I was finally going to wear a formal gown!
I felt beautiful! No longer depressed about the diagnosis of possible cancer.
The seamstress, who also was so friendly, warm professional was amazing also. She fixed my hemline and made adjustments to my straps and agreed to replace a button that was missing by using all new buttons in the back. They are beautiful. Off she went to do her magic to make my dress fit perfectly.
I returned a few days later and told them that I was diagnosed with cancer in both breast. Both Robin and my seamstress consoled me. They were so kind and thoughtful and wished me the best but then they turned my attention to trying on my altered gown.
I was speechless! It was perfect!. I even tried on some shoes that were stunning but my budget would not allow it so I declined the shoes. As my sister and I headed out of the door, Robin stopped me and said "we can have your gown steamed in 30 minutes if you want to go across the street and get something to eat. When my fiance and I came back to pick up my gown, to my amazing surprise, Robin had gifted me the shoes! I was in tears!
Life had turned my attention from negative, foreboding thoughts to a great big happy smile full of hope and joy for my wedding day.

My husband & I decided to ring in the 2018 New Year at the Marina del Rey in the Bronx again this year. This was our 2nd year. Prior to this I had hosted NYE in my home for a whole lot of family for past 16 years!

Last year we had a table with close friends & family and it was great.
This year those friends & family members couldnt commit but my husband & I decided since we had such a wonderful time last year, we still wanted to go again this year!

Joe Orzo was hosting and he in fact is the one that booked our reservation. He set us up at a great table and everything was just amazing! His hospitality, the food, the service, the staff, the music, the atmosphere-EVERYTHING!

My husband & I joked when we planned this that this would be our date night since my husband & I are expecting our first child in April!
Joe truly made our night special! We didnt know not one other person of the hundreds that were there and he made it a point to come over & check on us several times throughout the night to make sure we were happy!

So, we want to give special thanks Joe for all you did to start our 2018 in a great way! Unfortunately, it is not often you get to meet people like Joe who is professional, respectable, and personable and so when we do we need to express our THANKS!

Happy New Year to Joe Orzo & the entire Marina Del Rey staff!
Hope to see you again next year!

They have tons of vendors advertising in the same spot. I have been online advertising for nearly 20 years and theknot.com is the worst investment I ever made. Beware advertisers. It was nothing like before.

Horrible to Vendors!
December 12, 2017

The Knot should be "the not for vendors!" They are in business based on what vendors pay them, however if a vendor files a dispute or dissolution of service they don't allow you to be taken off of their site.

NO GOOD FOR VENDORS!
October 31, 2017

I receive solid leads from many other sites like Wedding Wire and I book 9 out of 10 of them. From The Knot, you get leads with the same type of email *******@aol.com, *******@gmail.com etc. I write them back to start the conversation and nothing back. They are catfishing. Plus I had a false review that I had proof was false information and they refused to take it down and they refused to remove my companies information from their site. STAY AWAY, go to Wedding Wire!

My daughter had her wedding at the Aria. The Venue downstairs and outside is beautiful. Customer service from the office to the staff helpers was horrible. The rest of the place needs a paint job. We showed up and there was no food in bridal suite not even champagne to start with. They promised us that we could arrive before two hours of the event starting and they forced us to one and a half hours. The suite was a sauna and had no AC. Our hairs were suffering from the bad climate in the room. Apparently, they must be having financial issues, as I am a financial consultant and the red flags were there. The AC was not turned on and when they did for the receiption, it was very low. Furthermore, lighting in the halls were close the dark, obviously saving on light. We had the ceremony outside, and were promised heaters, yet none were on. We all froze and they were only turned due to our persistence, after the cocktail hour was almost over. Please note that the current cocktail hour was outside. As for staff helpers they were HORRIBLE. The matre d' Sergio was worthless and clueless. My husband had to take over or the receiption process and formalities would not have started. The Bridal attendant just roamed around and not pleasant when had to do her job. During the receiption staff was dancing, hugging and kissing on one another. The females were flirting with the single men in the bridal party. The food was distributed in an unorganized manner and the soup seemed to be from Campbell can of soup. We paid extra for the venese hour and was all llimited though we paid for the premium package. Do not let looks deceive you. You will cry on your special day if you use this venue.

If you are looking for a place to hold a wedding/reception, look no further. Wedgewood Pines in Stow, Ma is a magical place that will provide a spectacular venue for your special day. The setting is idyllic. We held a post wedding reception brunch last weekend. Trish Silva, event coordinator is a hidden gem. She made excellent suggestions and made us feel very special. The food was outstanding from the cocktail hour through dessert. Her chef and staff were wonderful to our guests. It was a seamless event, very reasonably priced and I wouldn't have changed a thing.

MY FANTASY WEDDING
September 1, 2017

As everyone knows being a bride can be stressful time, however I must tell you that I could not of been happier with the entire team at the 3 West Club.

I remember the day my fiance and I went to view the club and meet Ryan Furio for the first time. The warmth and help from Ryan had us book immediately and i can tell you that Ryan and his team were amazing all the way through from beginning to end of the ceremony.

I would highly recommend The 3 West club for any venue and:)

I tried to post a review on vendor that I was given bad services and they kept requesting me to change the entire review. There argument was that they must be fair to vendors also. But then what about consumers? What about vendors who scam people out of their money for weddings? The knot is not authentic don't go by their reviews.

I used the knot to host my wedding website. They have this neat electronic RSVP feature & allows you to use secure RSVP, so only people invited can respind. Pretty neat I thought, except the secure feature kerps reversing (3 times do far & counting). I have had multiple people not invited to my wedding RSVP to it. I've now resorted to checking the settings multiple times a day to make sure I dont end up having to tell dozens of people they werent supposed to be allowed to RSVP. Its awful! I would suggest anybody considering them for this to look elsewhere!

So, the site is really helpful. The timeline list thing is a great guideline. The free wedding website thing is helpful and sometimes they have some good advice. Some people have said that you can't delete anything and I've not had this problem. Our wedding date changed and it changed ok, but I've not gotten married yet so I've not needed to take anything down.

That being said, I would avoid the forums. It's like any forum. A lot of people there want to be jerks.

Weddings are different from culture to culture and family to family (couple to couple of course). Therefore, something that is acceptable or expected in one culture is frowned on in another. People on this site don't know that and will jump down your throat if they disagree. If you need advice, talk to actual humans.

Website has some good pages, but be sure to avoid the "community" forums. Bad software, you can never get rid of your posts (also nearly impossible to remove a wedding page -- no respect for your privacy) and nothing but a catty clique of 'mean girl' Bridezillas and their yes-women anyway.

Vendors can write their own reviews and post them on this website.
Also consumer reviews are not verified so anyone can post a review.
No guidelines or rules for vendors or consumers.
Mind blowing of how these people are still in business with the amount of negative reviews.
