I ordered some hosts and coral bells on June 15, and was nervous about the company when I read later all the complaints. But I received the plants yesterday (10/6) and they were in great shape. The Hosta Farm had devastating greenhouse damage and serious family illness lately that would make any family business hard to maintain. They're not taking new orders until they catch up on shipments.
I placed 3 orders late in 2015, but never received them. I've called and e-mailed them multiple times, but never have gotten any response, much less plants! These orders represent a lot of money to me!
I've ordered from the hosta farm for over a year now... good service, good followup... this year has been tough for them with the daughter's cancer diagnosis. All plants are good and have survived and grown nicely...
Appreciate them working with me on my orders!
The Hosta Farm has become my go-to source for Hostas and their prices can't be beat. I can't really rate their customer service because I only live about 45 minutes from their greenhouses and deal directly with who I assume is the manager of the place and the cashier. Highly recommend them for all the Hosta Heads out there.
I am so upset with this company. I ordered on May 4th, 2016 and still have not received anything. I emailed them on May 23rd and received an email on June 5 saying they are a little behind and I will receive a tracking # when shipped... now it is June 17 and still no tracking number or plants... if they can't fill the order they should at lest do the decent thing and return my money... will never order from them again.

Update 9/4/16: Very happy to report Order 2833PFS from saleforplants recd August 26,2016. One (1) last order, "hostas-******* (4/5/16) for $114.50 still not rec'd. Emails to Hosta Farm are bouncing now so I faxed request to ship. No response to phone msg left, yet.
I am holding out hope that the last remaining order from The Hosta Farm.com will arrive soon.

THE FIRST TIME I ORDERED FROM HOSTA FARM I HAD NO PROBLEMS. IT ARRIVED A FEW WEEKS LATE BUT THAT WAS OF NO MATTER. IN DECEMBER, 2015 I PLACED TWO SEPARATE ORDERS. THE SECOND OF THE TWO ORDERS ARRIVED A FEW WEEKS LATE. I CONTACTED THEM TO QUESTIONED THE ARRIVAL OF THE FIRST ORDER. I WAS TOLD IN AN E-MAIL WITH NO NAME THAT THAT ORDER HAD SHIPPED. FIVE DAYS LATER IT HAD NOT ARRIVED. QUESTIONABLE SINCE THE ORIGINAL ORDER STATED 3 DAY PRIORITY.
AS OF TODAY I HAVE NO PLANTS AND AM OUT $65.65.

ABOUT A WEEK AFTER I WROTE THIS REVIEW I WAS TOLD THAT MY ORDER WAS SHIPPED AND I GOT A VERY NICE APOLOGETIC LETTER FROM DEBBIE.IT ALSO STATED THAT GREG WAS HAVING PROBLEMS AND SHE WAS TAKING OVER WHILE HE WAS UNAVAILABLE... I THINK DEBBIE SHOULD STAY WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE... THE ORDER ARRIVED WITH EVERYTHING ON IT.
I AM NOT SURE IF I WILL ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY AGAIN... IF I DO, IT WILL BE IN THE SPRING NOT THE WINTER. WE'LL SEE..
I have not received my order, Hostas farm will not reply to me by phone or email, I feel I have been scammed, I have contacted the BBB in Virginia today and they are going to investigate this shady company.
