Great, service. Easy to use app which is always reliable. I have been a customer for about five years with no concerns.
My only wish is that I could receive codes. Otherwise it's good, am happy and it's free!
They completely suspended my account for no apparent reason. I had my bank accounts, and all other personal accounts linked to my textnow account. Now i cannot access anything.
On June 12,2021 I paid $6.99 CAD to lock my number for one year, but it was taken by someone else on July 15,2021. When I contacted the customer service, they accused me of releasing number or claimed that someone else used my account to release my number. They repeated this multiple times when I asked for a refund. This is an example from the transcript:

Your service is not tailored to sustain free service, its about pushing customer to buy lines with very costly price, higher than real lines.
It clearly says it will provide you certain services for $6.99 a month. Once you go to the screen to add any services it says in small letters $6.99 a week. Smh

We find it very good! Sometimes I have to log out and log in to get it working, but not a big deal for me!
Login is an ongoing and constant problem. There are no real solutions, and no real customer service. Customer service is non-extant, even for paying customers.
THE MOST ANNOYING THING IN THE WORLD is that sometimes you get ads that play so loud and violently DURING your call. All day today I have had Nordstrom ads popping up sometimes three at a time all playing at the same time. It's not a normal volume, it's so loud it will give you PTSD. Now I'm going to get PTSD every time I see the store name Nordstrom. Out of principle I will never go there again. I love buying my Estee Lauder products there...next time I'm going to Macy's.

Was ok at first but can't answer calls or leave VM. Internet is awefull. Phone rings and rings and rings! Got 29 calls from +1 numbers and California numbers too. You get what you pay for...

I have had text now and my own phone number through them for years probably close to almost 10 years and I use it as a second never personal for when I'm in a spot that my phones not working but I have access to Internet so the texting and phone calls great never had any problems with them until first of January and I tried to make a phone call and it wouldn't go through so it froze up which it has done a couple times and I just uninstall it and reinstall it and apparently I violated the terms of service or their agreement and I don't know what I did I filed an appeal never heard from them so they've gone from really really great I think two so bad they suck I wouldn't get them now at all I'd look for another one even if they did come back and say it was all good can't get a hold of customer service
I like that I can have a 2nd number that I can use to give to certain people I want to communicate with

Answer: Well well well, u pushed the right button. I don't trust them at all. They tried hardly to get a photo of any of my government IDs, together with a photo of my credit card pretending to verify my identity and they rejected all other means for verification including calling my bank.

Hi Devonnile, thanks for your feedback. Purchases offered in our app include features to remove ads and lock in your number. In the free version of the app, these ads do pay for this service available to all users! For our free version, you do risk losing your number if you don't use it regularly. If you're not interested in locking in your number or removing ads, you can use the number at least once every couple days for an outgoing call or text to keep it active.
