Every year right in Nov. DEC THEY say we have to update. Every year I click on that button. I end up having to get a new number. It deletes all my contacts. I was told by another phone company that's they way it works. I think its awful but some don't care to have 2 and 3 phones. So it's convient but yet so incontinent.
I use Text Now for daily Calls and Texts. I also use Text Now for an extra phone line. I've Always a Very Satisfied Result With This App. I would most definitely recommend for anyone and everyone!
Had a phone number with them, i changed it because I was receiving weird calls. Then the person who own my older number now had access to my contacts and texted them during the night. One of my friend told me the next day he received weird texts from my previous phone number. My first language is french and this person spoke french too..
First of all the phones from textnow must be factory rejects with no support. I got service for my whole family and what a mistake that was... I tried to give them a fair shake but now I have a pile of junk phones and they continue to Bill my Paypal account with absolutely no service! 3 months ago I went with another carrier and I had to close my paypal account to stop the billing on my credit cards and of course I can't get anyone to reply for my request of reimbursement of extra payments.
Stay away from Textnow! Big Ripoff!
At first it was wonderful. They had a family plan and I was able to refer people for credit. For years, I was able to add my husband, my non profit business, my 2 stepsons, even my daughter and son. Now, they did away with family plans and I'm left with over a $3300 credit I can't transfer to my nonprofit business or any other line. To even things out. If I would've know it would be like this, I never would have chosen TextNow. I actually have us mobile now. And I love it. It's cheaper than TextNow. Unlimited everything
I have been trying for 2 years to cancel. Yes this is correct. 2 YEARS. They have a chat system and says what you want them to say and they promise things you think solves the problem but it does not. They are in Canada so not subject to US jurisdiction for the fraud they are perpetrating. Stay Away
The main reason I made this review is because of one thing. I tried to use a phone number to keep my Google account safe so I put my Textnow phone number into where it was telling me to fill it in and then went to Textnow because it was telling me enter a 6-digit code in a text I was supposed to receive. Instead I received a text telling me that in order to receive verification codes I have to "upgrade my account" with a link. I click on the link but nothing happens. Like why do I need to upgrade my account? Why can't I just receive verification codes like any other texting app? So that concludes my summary. Basically if you use Textnow for texting and want to use a phone number for recovery of your Google account you can't for some stupid reason.
Hi Audrey, thanks for your review! For security, free WiFi-Only TextNow accounts are not able to officially support verification/short codes. Ad Free+, Lock Your Number and Wireless plans do support verification codes.
I was joking around with a friend using a new number pretending to be someone else and i may had used some profanity which got the account flagged and removed. Had a long time account and they banned my account. Will they do this to your phone service they provide? I think so. Not good. This is my review and it is truthful.
Phone number is great for me when I need service I get home and then use the number for all my needs
Easy to use and no hassles. TextNow is the only one I use now. I highly recommend.
Very good coverage within the United States. The "pay as you go" option for data is very cost effective.

Very good it's clear when having a conversation I just wish that there was a choice to download music and the tones was better songs and louder
I have had this service for about a month
I have used tech chat 5 times and have found the support courteous and informative
I purchased a phone from them and it arrived on time and in good order
Other than occasional calls not coming to phone the service has been acceptable
After the cleared some orphaned connections on other devices and web browsers receiving calls improved.
Not sure why all the negative reviews but I have been pleased with the service
I really like it. It's simple to download and call and text. A wonderful app.
It helps when your phone is not paid and when you run out of wi-fi
I used this website for 2-Step Authentication for Twitch and Youtube so that I could stream on both platforms. After actively using the account to receive verification codes they changed my phone number for "inactivity." Now I can never log into my Twitch and Youtube account. Don't use this website as a replacement for not having a phone payment. Actually, don't use this website at all.
So I ordered a sim card from them and it said 5-7 days. I never received it. Text Now kept sending me texts to activate the SIM Card. Well how can I activate it if I never received it. I tried and tried to get a refund after they let me lock my number for 3 weeks in a row which is no good if you don't have a sim card. This is just another scamming app
