Fraudsters

I have been receiving a magazine I did not order. On the label my last name is spelled incorrectly. I spoke with the magazine and was told it was ordered through Subco and that I needed to contact them to cancel the order. I have called and emailed and haven't received a response. The magazine suggested that I ordered it by mistake and just forgot. But if I ordered it, I would not have misspelled my own last name. Whatever this business is doing it should be illegal.

Received a GQ subscription in name of my husband deceased wife of 8 years. Called GQ, they said Subco handled that subscription. Looking at their site, it says: Why am I receiving my magazine subscription/how did you get my information?
Subco partners with first-rate retailers, e-commerce companies, fundraising organizations, and loyalty points companies to service magazine subscriptions as an added benefit to their valued customers. At some point during a transaction with one of our partner companies, you were presented with the opportunity to opt in to a magazine subscription. We have only received your mailing address information to provide you with the entertaining, informative magazine issues you don't want to miss. We never receive any other personal data, including payment information.
Dead people don't opt out of magazine subscriptions, at least not people who have been dead for 8 years!
So much for first rate partners. NO ONE FROM THIS HOUSE ORDERED ANYTHING FROM SUBCO. FRAUD FRAUD FRAUD ALL THE WAY.

I can NOT run yet these people somehow subscribed me to Runner's World@$10 per year. Can't unsubscribe directly through the magazine only through Subco. This is very sketchy, avoid doing any business with these people.

I've been receiving People Magazine now for about four weeks. I never subscribed to this and do not want the magazine. They go right into the trash when I get them. I am appalled that your company took it upon themselves to set up a subscription without my knowledge or permission.

I would like to know how you got my name & address and why you thought it was okay to set up this subscription. If I don't get an acceptable response, I will be reporting you to the Better Business Bureau.

Fraudulent subcriptions

Somehow they got my name and mailing address, which is different than my physical address and less used. They signed me up for a travel magazine and Esquire, without my permission. Never spoke to them or anyone. Try calling their number, always "closed" despite being within their hours.
I wanted to give them the chance that they might just have a dishonest salesman, but after researching them, they are a fraudulent dishonest company engaging in identity theft. I will be pursuing charges if they don't cancel asap.

Scam company
April 6, 2024

Any company that sends out unsolicited magazine subscriptions is fraudulent in my opinion. I started receiving Harper's Bazaar which I would never read and discovered that Subco took it upon themselves to subscribe me. I have assured them that if I receive a bill I will be forwarding it to them. Jerks.

I never subscribed to people magazine but have been receiving magazine issues. I called people magazine to cancel and they explained it is being sent to me by Subco. I'm beyond irritated this could happen. How are you acquiring people's information? This is not OK. When I tried to call the customer service number *******350 it does not even connect through. I would please like this resolved immediately. I am stunned. #*******792

Unsolicited magazine
January 12, 2023

Received the 1st issue of a 6 month sub to Women's Health. Never subscribed. Zero interest - I'm a retired male. The magazine had my address, but was addressed to "Dronal Trump". No clue where that came from. When I called the mag, was directed to call Subco. Tried that several times, but each time was greeted by someone pushing a medical alert system. No interest and told them so. The person hung up each time. Not good!

So far in the last week I have gotten 2 issues of Men's Health Magazine that I did not sign up for. I am very mad about this. I am a single woman with no interest in this. I would also like to know how you got my information, obviously you're a scam company. You better not bill me for this. I didn't sign up for it. I will be reporting you to the better business bureau if you don't get me off all of your lists. You're a scam of some kind. This can't possibly be a legitimate business.

I will never nor have I ever subscribed to any magazine but for some reason I received one today in the mail that you guys ordered for me. Totally Inappropriate. How did you even get my information? Did you charge me? I'm highly annoyed and feel my information is not safe. I would like this resolved immediately and I never wish to encounter you again. This is the first and last time you will take my information and order something on my behalf. This needs to be fixed.

I started to get magazines that I never ordered. When I tried to cancel the magazine I was told that I had to go through subco. I have never heard of them and have never ordered anything from them. It is a pain in my $#*! that I have to go through so much crap for something I never ordered. If they send me a bill I will be calling my lawyer.

I have been receiving Men's Health magazine and could never determine who signed me up for the subscription. I am certainly not the demographic for the magazine being nearly 70 years old. I immediately toss the magazine in the trash and have probably thumbed through no more than one or 2 of the editions. I do not subscribe to magazines. I tried contacting Men's health directly and was informed that they could not cancel my subscription. When I inquired as to why, they informed me that it was initiated by a company named SUBCO. Well today I found contact information for SUBCO. I will be contacting them first thing on Monday to cancel this subscription. I never initiated it, not did I authorize it. I want to know who is paying for it. HEY SUBCO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION! For all of you out there in the same boat. SCAM! Came home to find a People magazine delivered to me. I have NEVER subscribed to People magazine. People magazine refused to tell me who was paying for the subscription, only that Subco had authorized it. People CSR said she cancelled the subscription, but would not tell me who paid for it. She said she did not have access to payment records, and she said she did not have a supervisor I could speak to either Scammy on the part of People and Subco. I will be disputing any charges by People or Subco via my credit card, if we are charged. Minus one star for this fraudulent company.

Scam
February 8, 2019

Two years ago this company started sending me several magazines without my permission. I s don't know how they got my credit card number. After several calls, they finally gave my money back but I am still receiving these magazines, stuffing my mailbox. Trying to get them to stop, I am put on never ending hold. Do not talk to these people or deal with them in any way!

I feel like they are sending you magazines to force you to cancel which you can only do by phone or email, allowing them to capture more information on you to sell to other unethical "partner" companies. You won't know it's from them; it's a bit of a process to find out. We'll see if it actually gets cancelled or not. I better not get a bill. What a scam!

I've been receiving magazines from People, even though I never signed up for a subscription. I've have called several times but there was never any representatives available. I also sent an email about 4 days, and I still haven't received any response as well. I would like if I can get ahold directly with a Subco representative or that someone responds to my email (along with the requests in it).

I called subco to ask how im receiving GQ magazine, I'm a 41 yr. Old woman that has no interest in this magazine. Ive NEVER ordered a magazine in my life. They told me i was signed up thru publisher. I asked if i was gonna be charged she told me I'm subscribed until 8/2021 and also will be receiving better homes and gardens too. I told her to cancel GQ, and keep the better homes and garden, Subscription ends without cancelling in 8/2021 Im a little Leary but will be staying on it.

Horrible and a Scam
July 31, 2020

Subco Contacted In Style magazine And started a subscription in my daughters name who is a minor. I tried to cancel it and they said I would have to contact Subco and you can't get through to anyone when you call they just hang up. Can someone help me stop this now!
