Stripe is by far the worst payment provider.
Please do your self a massive favour. Go elsewhere. Their fee's are just riduculous, but to make matters worse, they will come up with excuses to hold your money for as long as they can. Your hard earned money. Id say they are worse than paypal.
Ive had nothing but drama with this "company" as they received payments from my customers that were ment to be payed out to me but they but then the delayed it with out giving me a reason as to why 3 times and then stated my customers will be refunded so i went to carry out said refund which then told me i can not carry out the refunds to my customers. Not to mention there "support" team is crap and next to useless. So now im out about $700 and behind on parts bills due to this with still no answer 100% would not recommend to use them ever i have since removed all there links to my invoices so this doesn't occur ever again.
If I could give this service a negative star review I would. They ran me in circles while I tried to get $70 from my account. First they claim my listed website is incomplete and demand another verification of my existence and what I sell, so I linked them to my Instagram that hosts my work. I was then sent an email saying they were closing my account for selling "digital currency" (NFTS/crypto) when I made no such claim on any part of my profile or website.
They didn't even take 1 second to actually review my account and actively told me to go screw myself.
Do NOT use this service if you are an independent artist because they will make false claims about you to prevent you from making a profit off your legal works.
We used Stripe in a fundraiser to bring hemp to Ethiopia. It's early stages, raising money for paperwork. We were rejected for being "cannabis related," we appealed, we lost and were given a deadline to cease using Stripe for this purpose. We complied with the deadline, but Stripe kept the funds raised before the deadline.
This company is likely owned by a conservative / religious group. They will not process our medical center payments because we prescribe medical marijuana to chronic pain patients and cancer patients. Any company that discriminates to this degree should not exist in modern society. Our company is in New York State.
There is no way to contact someone directly. You have to write an email, wait and hope for a response. The Wag! App which is connected to Stripe is not allowing me to update my payment information in order for me to get paid. This is horrible and not effective at all! I hate Stripe! Give me my money!
Any payment processor is better these clowns will accept your business then close your account after you start making money and essentially seize it destroying your business. They blocked my account more then year ago & still didn't refund my money! Obviously Stripe scamming company! Be aware
Stripe holding my funds for more then 90 days …
Stripe holding my funds for more then 90 days and the max time limit has been passed according to the EU debit card and credit card policy for refund and dispute... The day stripe closed my account was 26 January 2024, so In total it's 90 days passed.
As it's been 90 days the stripe still not responding and not giving proper reason or answer regarding my holdings balance.
I looking for payout from stripe after 90 days but I was wrong as they don't care about there customers who run the business.
Thanks
I never received my payout to my checking account. I spent 4 days and tone of hours on phone and emailing customer service. The magical group in the world that handles payouts still have not fixed my issue and I have emailed them for days now. The worst service I have ever encountered in my life. Stay away from these clowns.
Been with Stripe for about 3 years. Never really had any issues or complaints. This year many clients have canceled their events due to the pandemic. And Stripe changed their refund policy this year. Just had a client accidentally pay a $2800, 00 invoice twice. I immediately issued a refund for the second payment. Stripes fee was about $85.00. Stripe kept the $85.00 for both transactions. This is total robbery. Shame on Stripe!
Stripe has frozen our client's payouts (More than $600,000) and they don't give us any specific reason nor a timeframe for releasing the fund. They don't respond to our emails. Avoid Stripe at any cost.
doesnt matter if you have delivery and signature confirmation or not if the buyer claims non receipt stripe will take the money back plus double dip their fees and then they tack on an extra 15 bucks. then you wait a month only to get an email saying you lost the dispute. so usps tracking delivery and signature confirmation are not enough to prove the item was delivered?
I opened my account to charge a card, they took 100 dollars from a 2500 payment. That includes a 25 dollar registration fee? I understood that first charge, still a lot though. I finally received the money 10 days later. Charge the same client 2500 and they took another 100 including the registration fee again. Said it would be on hold for another 10 days. WTH. I gave a refund to my client after speaking with chat. During the conversation they told me because my account is not a US account. I asked what they meant because I am in the US, my client is in the US. They could not explain it. I am now being charged the same fee 97.80 even though I refunded it. They are steeling money from me. Wow! I beg anyone who reads this never to use stripe, ever.
Don't use this company if you have a real business. I run a business of 100 employees and revenue of $250k monthly. I opened account with them and had 1 charge done for $12,200 and I get email day later saying business isn't eligible and that they will hold my funds for 120 days . Trashy, unprofessional and crooks.
Extremely frustrating experience. Almost impossible to reach anybody past the initial customer service. I have spent over three hours on phone calls just to add a bank account from the same bank I've always had. Took 36 hours to even be able to pass security to get payment to the original bank. Customer service has been very condescending and when I asked to speak with management, I was told that possibly someone would get back to me but no guarantee. I had had a good experience in years past, but I have spent so much time just to make simple adjustments. I spent over an hour with customer service for the third time for them to discover that the URL for my website needed to be updated. Considering I have had this business and used the same sites for over eight years, it seems unacceptable. It took that long to figure this out.
Don't open an account with Stripe. They make it simple... until you start processing money, then they will without notice warning or opportunity to avoid this, block your account and payments that should immediately be paid to you.
They will do this for No reason. Then try to get someone to explain this or unblock the account and you run into a bunch of uneducated, robotic idiots who think doing this is a joke and that as a business owners you can just wait for your money. They say 1-2 business days but its more like a week. Now when you need this money to conduct your business it will damage you.
DO NOT USE THEM EVER WARNING
Our account was closed because they thought we were selling unapproved pharmaceuticals. We are an auction company selling comic books and baseball cards. We couldn't get them to understand that. The worst company I have dealt with maybe ever. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Been using stripe for a few years now, and I prefer it to PayPal. Where as withdrawals are manual with PayPal, they are near instantaneous, however Stripe has automatic rolling withdrawals, but you have to wait at least 7 days after being paid before you can access your funds.
I am a online business owner and I do not recommend stripe to anyone they holding money for stupid reasons. Then getting fraud cases on us and they are acting like it is my business is the reason for the fraud. They will not do anything about it even with proof of customers.
I joined Stripe thinking that they'd offer a similar service to Paypal. Within one week of using Stripe, having transacted about $100 - they email me that they'll be "reserving" 50% of my funds for 3+ months. Secondly, after attempting to upload my driver's licence and passport - their system shows failed within 1 minute whenever trying to upload photo ID's. I'm currently reaching out to the NAB Bank of Australia in regards to their "50% reserve" policy for new accounts and the fact they are not properly collecting identifications for new users.
An account was created in Stripe for my company. We did not authorize the account. It was a scam. I tried contacting support or sales, but the only response to me has been to go online to contact support or sales. But there is no way to call or email Stripe to remove the account. Their responses are only emails to go to their website. But there is no way to find out why they created a fraudulent and unauthorized account. Too bad.
Answer: Hi Jon, I'm sorry that you're having trouble with disputes -- they can be frustrating! Unfortunately, when your customer initiates a dispute with their bank, it's the bank that begins an investigation and makes the determination on who gets to keep the funds -- and often times, they do favor the customer. This process is facilitated by credit card networks, but Stripe helps with this process by submitting evidence that you provide, such as tracking numbers. Although we can't make disputes go away, we do try our best to make them a bit easier to manage. As a bit of background on how the dispute process works, the minute that we learn about a dispute from your cardholder's bank, the funds and an additional fee are taken out of our account. In the event that you're able to win a dispute, we return the full amount of the charge and the fee to you, though the fee that we are assessed is not returned to us by the bank. We return that fee because we feel strongly that businesses shouldn't be penalized for disputes that are resolved in their favor. Because it is expensive for us to return those fees in instances were the dispute is resolved in the business's favor, we aren't able to return the fees at other times. In addition, since disputes are a forced refund by the cardholder’s bank and not a voluntary one on your part, you remain responsible for the processing fees for the initial transaction. It can be tricky for even experienced businesses to understand how to handle a dispute, so we've spent time documenting the various circumstances under which a payment can be disputed, and how best to handle each -- I'd recommend taking a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes to learn more. Please also take a look at https://stripe.com/help/disputes#how-can-i-prevent-disputes to learn more about preventing disputes. I hope this helps shed some light on our approach here. Again, I'm sorry that dealing with disputes are frustrating. Stripe actively dedicates resources to making this problem better and, over time, go away entirely. We can certainly look into your account and these specific disputes, if you'd like, if you send us a message at https://support.stripe.com/email.
Answer: These are the most significant crooks in the industry but they will get what they deserve I joined a group how will exposed there behavior. It is impossible that they can keep on operating and not get arrested
Stripe has a rating of 1.2 stars from 447 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Stripe most frequently mention customer service, high risk and credit card. Stripe ranks 188th among Payment Processing sites.
